  1. Hello guys/girls and to the vj's families,I just have few questions,as I mentioned last post I had I got married, and just now we were going to send the Application to adjust my status,I entered the States as a K1-VISA Holder, and got married here.My questions are:

1.)Part 3 Processing information (A)of the Form I-485,APPLICATION TO REGISTER Permanent Residence or Adjust Status Question

.(Place of Last Entry into the United states.)

this part I'm pretty confused if should I answer it with my Port of Entry?or should I answer my husband's place which is ohio?

I flew from manila,my Port of entry is Chicago O'hare Airport, and flew to Ohio.So should I put my place of last entry is ohio or my POE?mmmm confusing,

2.)what are the documents I needed to submit the original copy?

3.Should I include the 3 YEARS taxes and W2 now along with my AOS forms?

Thats all I'm looking forward for some good info from the experts source in vj.God bless us all

  2. Hi guys, hope everyone doing well,I'm back again and have few questions regarding my vaccination.Soon we gonna file for adjustment of status, but before that I gotta do one more thing"vaccination"when I was in manila,I've been told to get one more vaccination here in the states the(Human Papillomavirus) ,So today I went to the Civil surgeon,She said that I need to do and finish the 3 series of the TDAP and the series of MMR before she can update my records.

    My questions are:

Is it normal to do the serries of Vaccines while I had already done in manila?

The MMR,it is clearly said here I completed the series, but the Nurse is really stubborn she asked me of any documentation that I had done vaccination in manila I GAVE her the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet, and she still asked a copy of vaccination while there's only 1 I got from ST.Lukes.she said in this

country if there's no documentations that means"never done"so Is my "VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET"means is not enough documentation of my vaccination??

it says there clearly"COMPLETED SERIES(CHECK)IF COMPLETED WRITE "VH"IF VERICELLA HISTORY,OR WRITE DATE OF LAB TEST IF IMMUNE"At that point my "MMR"COLUMN got check in it so that means completed am I right?but why is that the nurse kept saying "NOOO"And gave me 2 shots for that????????

So my question is(Can I file a complaint for the nurse for giving me the shots that I had completed already? What should I do just shut up since I got the vaccination done already?I'm afraid though of having bad effect of having those shots more than my body needs.

Ok,is it normal for a fiancee visa holder from my country to undergo the series of vaccination when We get here?

any k-1 visa holder pls share your experienced if you have done what I experienced here?

does anyone here been told the st.lukes to have another shot in the state when you gets here?or does anyone just filed AOS without doing any further vaccinations?

  3. Ohio loves to collect fees from legal immigrants, apparently.

    GOOD LUCK !!!

Keep practicing in a parking lot with yer husband !!!

You might be able to find some racetracks, as well, during the 'off-season' - just remember to bring yer husband along in the car.

I think you are right!I called them up and need to retake the exam and pay once again.

Yea still learning, but rightnow I'm stuck till my GC.

  4. Hello to all the VJ people,I'm alexa and here I am again would like to ask some of your help. We've got married early of March 2010,my husband and I are now planing to file for AOS first week of April,I would just like to know if all the forms on Adjustment Of Status guide are updated?and should I just print 'em out?

Ok here's our plan, and what are the correct forms we should provide to be able to proceed all these?(WHAT WE NEED IN ORDER TO FILE FOR AOS?)

1,)We don't have plan on immediate travelling prior to the AOS aproval.(so it is not necessary for us to file the I-131 FORM am I right?)what if we will change our plan and decide to travel when I got the greencard,do we still need to have the approval of I-131 in order to travel?or Having a greencard in hand would allow me to travel and reenter the country?

2.)We planned on working for like a year before getting pregnant,so in order to do it we need the I-765 form right?what if I will just wait for the approval of AOS?does my greencard will allow me to work?or they will still look for my I-765 approval in order to hired me?

3.)Does form G-1145 NECESSARY FOR THE APPLICATION?what are the advantage of including it to the AOS application.

If ever we will just do all forms(or we have to do all the forms such as:

    I-485

    I-864

    G-325A

    I-765

    I-131

    G-1145

*how many photos do we need to submit?

*how much do we need to pay?

*what else needed for the application except the certified copy of marriage certificate and all those forms?

Also,We just got married,as I mentioned my old post that nobody attended our ceremony than two of us,the photographer, and the minister.Do we need to send the USCIS a copy of our wedding photos?we don't have any joint accounts yet,I opened my own bank account both checking and savings a couple of weeks from my arrival, and got SSN,Temporary driver's permit.and that permit already expired as they based only on my I-94.

all the utility bills are on my husband's name.No insurance yet on both of our names,is that all fine?

I heard about W2'PAYSTUB,BANK STATEMENT,ETC.DO WE NEED TO SEND THEM OFF TOGETHER THE AOS application forms?

SORRY everyone it seems lots of questions rightnow running through my mind,We just need to make sure we will do the right thing. We had a lawyer when we filed for K1,but this time we are not hiring one for AOS,and just based on what most experienced people here on VJ.

Thanks alot for everyone who are very knowledgeable on answering and helping us on our queries.

    God bless us all!!

  5. ughhhh whatta mess you're getting into.If I were you,fix yourself think alot before getting yourself into another mess!!!why did you marry someone in IL,instead of going back in phili?you seems in hurry. If that guy number 3,who trully love you he can wait till you were ready.I mean when you will be matured enough!!!I don't think it's matured act for a filipina while your visa stamped with your petitioner's name on it.Well just my opinion "know the next guy better"""""DON'T BE SUCH IN HURRY!Remember haste is a waste!

  6. Moved from Adjustment of Status forum to 'moving here and your new life in America' forum

Hello everyone, thanks alot for the response sorry wasn't able to reply immediately as I got so busy over the week end.it's actually Zero weirdness as it is the Rules here in OH.maybe each states has different rules,I found out that today that I gotta take another exam start all over again after I got my greencard, and I gotta wait for like 3 to 4 months to get another permit, and another $22.If I knew I should just wait.THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANSWERING MY QUERY,I AM GRATEFUL EACH ANSWER GOD BLESS ALWAYS!

  7. Hi vj folks,I was wondering what to do after my learner's permit on driving expired?ok last feb 9 I did the written exam and passed,at the moment am allowed to get my learner's permit, but the folk there who issued the card put the I-94 expiration as expiration on my learner's card.

So my question in what should I do after that expired?am I allowed to renew it after I married my fiance?it says"non renewable, non transferable"so does this means I gotta take the exam again?Or they wont allow me to do that unless I will recieved a new visa means "gc",?hmmmm seems just weired has anyone had the same experienced befor can share?

I don't have idea but I am thinking vj's family knew how it goes.

    thanks Alot.

  8. Moved to adjustment of status from family based visas, you will find all the info in this forum.

If you are taking your husband's name then that's what you want to put down as the last name as they go with what you write down for your green card.

Guys thanks for the very quick reply,I encountered some more questions if you don't mind,on the EAD form it ask me " family name"first name' and middle name

    Should I say

Pryce Alexa Martenes (made my family name when i was single to a middle name)or go with Pryce Alexa Gutierez?

it's confusing as they asked me my "other names include maiden name(should I used my dads family name as my maiden name)or used my mom's maiden name which is I Used as a middle name when I was single?

There's also a question of the PLACE OF LAST US entry, should Iput Chicago OHARE or chicago illinois,

or should I write my state add as my last US entry:)need your help on this thanks alot...

  9. Hello guys,we're filing the AOS soon, now trying to fill up the forms myself,I got few questions from the experts,

1.)Do I use my Family Name before I got Married?or Do I need To put My future husband's family name on the forms?

    (e.g)Alexa Gutierez Martenes

    Alexa(given name)

    Gutieres(mom's maiden name)

    Martines(Dad's Family name)

    Fiance

    (e.g)

    Jhon Patrick Pryce

Should I put Alexa Gutierez Pryce(Alexa G. Pryce)

    or Alexa Gutierez Martenes:)

2.)where could I find the visa#?is that the one printed close to zipcode?

    thanks alot for reading

    info are greatly appreciated!!!!

  10. 1. Yes, it's ok to get married several days before your i-94 expires. no bearing on your AOS.

BUT you will not be able to get a SSN because the requirement is a valid i-94. you won't have emough time because a cert of marriage can sometimes take a week)

better to apply for an SSN in your maiden name NOW so you can open a bank acct already. after you get married and get your cert, go back and change to your married name

if you dont have time anymore, no worry because you will only need to wait till you get your GC and then apply for an SSN, and by then in your married name

    2. No problem with your beach wedding. most couples have their first wedding at the townhall with just them and a couple of witnesses. what's important is you have pictures and a marriage cert (later) to prove that the marriage took place

    3. yes, pictures are good for evidence when you later apply for AOS. but don't worry because you don't have to send them after you get them. you first send in your application (w/c does not require those pictures) and then come interview time (around 4 months after you send your application), you will bring your proofs (time to bring your pics, docs, etc) so plenty of time to prepare

    4. the EAD is required if you're applying for a job. since it it's free if sent in with your AOS application, it's good to apply for it at the same time.

if you're not planning on getting a job yet, just wait for your GC because then you won't need an EAD anymore.

also, if you don't apply for an SSN now, even if you get your EAD, you still won't be able to get a job, so your choice (apply for SSN now in your single name or wait for your AOS/GC and apply for SSN in your married name)

    5. average of 4 months (application has no problems) , but depending on your application, could take longer

    6. have it at any clinic or hospital with a registered civil surgeon who can fill out the 693 form. mine (2) cost $100 total

    7. the ideal is as soon as you can have your application ready. others wait til they have the money.

technically you're out of status at the time, so be careful not to get involved in any law violations because if authorities find out you haven't applied for AOS yet you will need to explain

about the state ID, you get this in place of a driver;s license (if you don;t drive, you gotta have this)

but if you intend to apply for a driver's license, no need to get it

still if you just want to have one, go get one

for your last question, it's easy to change from your maiden name to your married name. just bring the correct requirements.

good luck and god bless! :)

Hello thanks for the very fast reply!I applied for SSN with my fiance a week ago and now waiting for the card.I apply for it as it is need to get a state id,and the reason of getting a state id is because I couldn't issue any check without a valid id here in USA,Also when I went to apply for the state id after we were told to get an SSN we are advice to take the written driving test.

By the way it is nice to know that it was free to apply for EAD if you apply it along your AOS,I thought we have to pay for it as well that's why I considered on waiting the gc as it wont be necessary anymore.

so what are the fors do we need to fill up for over all applications?and how much do we need to fee for EAD,AOS application?

sorry if this has been discuss before I tried to scan the previous adjustment topic but I am having a hard time..

Thanks alot for the kind hearted reply all

  11. Hello to all the members here,I am new on this site but been reading here alot since I met my fiance,I am a filipina I am engaged and soon to be married with the most important person in my life.

I got here in the USA,dec 9 of 2009,My I-94 WILL EXPIRED on MARCH 10,2010.we are planning to get married on the 1st week of march, maybe 5 days before my I-94 expiration.

    My Questions are:

1.)Is it safe to get married very close to the expiration date?(my fiance is working and it is not always easy to do things without planing.)ya know:)I am being paranoid that USCIS will put some bad comments for that during our future AOS application, and I couldn't afford on getting trouble here!

2.)Our plan is to go get married on the beach(only two of us:)and have some pictures of the wedding ceremony, just to get this done and have another church ceremony by mid this year with family and friends as weather is alot better. We supposed to do this in church this month but as winter season so we changed our plan.

I agreed that we will just go somewhere and do the proper wedding when it is not cold anymore.(but my concern is do you guys think the USCIS wont suspect us and our relationship when they saw that none of the both parties family on the wedding ceremony?

3.)does wedding pictures necessary to send along the application of AOS?do we really have to show them the pictures or married certificate is fine?and just save the pics for the interview later.:0 don't have idea..

4.)I heard about this EAD thing and in order to work you must apply this right?but what if we won't file for EAD, as it cost another $300 and just wait for the greencard and applied for work?is it safe to do?or they really need EAD even you got a greencard?

5.)How long it would take to finish the AOS process?

6.)when I did a medical at st.lukes the Dr.who gave my vaccination told me to do one more shot in the US(After 2 months from my medical date)unfortanately I haven't take any vaccination yet as I don't have idea where to get it done..So do you guys experienced the same thing especially those k1 visa holder?and where did you go get your vaccination and how much one vaccination cost?

7.)How long do we need to apply for AOS after the wedding?is it safe to do maybe after a month?well I read on some people's posts says right after the wedding as "I-94 EXPIRED"visa holder wont have a legal status then right?but also I heard some people didn't apply till months later so that is just a lil confusing.

I want to do the right thing, and avoid so much pressures for me and my fiance.

By the way When I got here after a couple of weeks I opened a savings and checking account, both in my single name, the problem is in order to write a check I gotta have a valid state id,so when we go ahead and apply for it the personnel told me that I needed SSN card,so we go ahead and apply for it so that we can get a state id and do the driving written test.

    my last question is

Is it easy to change your SSN name to your married name in the future?

Thanks a lot for reading our concerns We do appreciate for your replies and I'M sorry that I made lots of questions I trully believed that lots of here are generous to share their knowledge.!God bless us all.
