Yes, even if NVC tells you otherwise apparently the consulate will require them.. at least they did for us. They said the pueblo or the district is fine.

Thanks everyone. We are also praying hard. I was notified December 11 that it was scheduled for January 3 and so surprised!

@rich g: Thank-you! It was case complete on December 7 but I didn't know until today.

@Love is patient: The operator I spoke to said they are closing the scheduling of interviews for January on December 12 so it is very unlikely our interview will be scheduled in January...but this depends on your country and how busy the consulate is. They will be scheduling the February interviews in the first two weeks of January so that's why I said early February. Just a guess.. don't really know.. wish I did!

So perhaps an interview the first week of February??

Wow! That's terrific! So they gave you four weeks advance notice. Do you know if that is a normal or short notice? Just wondering what to expect since I'm traveling to see my husband this week and hoping to get a CC while I'm gone! Maybe I'll be back in a month or so.. I hope!

Did you pay online and get confirmed? If you did then you can print your coversheet and mail your I-864 and DS230 package.

I looked at your timeline and it doesn't look like you filed the I-130 yet. The flowchart isn't used until after your I-130 has been sent, reviewed and accepted. That's when it's sent to the NVC and you start using the flow chart. Follow the VJ "Step-by-step guide on How to File an I-130 for Relative (spouse) outside the US" first if that is your situation. I'm not sure in your situation if he is living in the US or Nica or maybe you are both living in Nica???

Confirmed NVC receipt of the DS230 today. Maybe two weeks for them to enter it in and another four or so for review and case complete?
