  1. Mine had my married name, but my maiden name is part of it.... for example:

    Angelina Jolie -> maiden name

Angelina Jolie Pity -> married name.

I just added my husband's last name. And that's all. The certificate was accepted.

ps- can't she get it online though?

Because if she can, you could do it for her and print it out. Since you are in the US (I'm assuming) it would be faster to respond the RFE.

    just an idea....

Yes her name is the same format as yours. As my last name was added to her full name which makes a very long name now.

You gave me a good idea maybe she could step me thru the website I could print and send to NVC. She already ordered another Federal Police report from the Federal Police Station where she lives. The man said the report she sent NVC was missing the official stamp or seal. The thing is I think they won’t like it because it has the name of her town below the heading. Whats not fair is the operator at NVC told me she did not know what was wrong with the one we sent as she did not have our case file in front of her. So I did not push them instead i e-mailed the US Consulate a copy of the police report asking them to tell me whats wrong with it.I hope they reply.

    Thanks!!

  2. What did you send them? Did your wife go to the station or got the online one?

I sent the report we got online and it was just fine. If you got it online, did you validated at the website?

She got hers from the local Federal Police station not online. Did yours show both Married name and madien name? Hers showed only married name but her maiden name is still part of her full name. Any way she went back to the local federal police station today and they said what she submitted to NVC did not have the official seal or stamp. So she ordered 2 new ones and she will get it Monday I hope it works lots of time being wasted ):

Please tell me if the one you submitted had both your married name and maiden name?

    muito obrigado!

  3. Hi

NVC denied my wife’s Brazil Federal Police Report and gave no reason. I e-mailed the Rio Consulate on the 28th for help attaching a copy of The Federal Police Report we sent NVC asking them whets wrong with it. No reply yet. If anyone could share what they sent NVC it would be a great help. Preferably a Federal Report from a smaller city or from the Northeast of Brasil. Our case is stuck until this issue is resolved.

    Thanks

  4. Hi msilva, I think I can help you. Is there anyway you can give me your or your wife's email so I can send the long form of the BC?

Hey Thanks that would be great but seems like I could use a copy of a Federal Police report instead. You could blot out the personal info. If you can help with either one or both please let me know. NVC denied both Brazilian Police reports but I think I have the correct state police report but no clue on what’s wrong with the federal one. How can I give our e-mail without posting it? Chat?

    thanks

  5. NVC said my wife’s Birth Certificate needs to be the long form. They also said The Federal Police Certificate is the wrong version. I have e-mailed the consulate in RJ for advice. I was hoping someone could e-mail me a copy of their Brazilian Birth Certificate and Federal Police Report after they of course blot out all personal information. I could e-mail to my wife to help her get the correct document.

    Thanks

  6. For my wife's case, they didn't acknowledge receipt of my documents until a month later. So every day I would call them, they would say that its still somewhre in the sort facility and hasn't been entered into the system. I wasn't really in a hurry because my son's I-130 was still stuck at USCIS to be approved....In the end it took them 6 weeks from the date of delivery to say that they have the DS-230 package.

    So be patient!

thanks for the reply! during that six weeks were they processing your case at NVC?

  7. I am re-doing my post because I did not word the title correctly. I have looked at other peoples timelines and in most cases NVC has acknowledged receipt of documents within days. I would appreciate anyone who had this experience to take a minute to share this with me.

    thanks

    (Hi to all,

I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum but never posted anything. I have two CR1 CASES one for my Stepdaughter and the other for my wife. I am very worried that NVC may have misplaced the case documents for my wife. My lawyer said he sent them to NVC as two cases in one FedEx Box but separated with binders and cover sheets so as not to mix the two cases.

The problem is that on my stepdaughters case NVC said they received the documents and the case is under review as of 4-19-2010. But for my wife they have not recorded the Documents as received. How can they not bother to look at the package and see two cases mother and daughter. All the documents sent are original and if they lost some of the documents can take a good month to replace. I called NVC on the 26th of April and they said a supervisor will look into this and to call back in two weeks. Just trying to sort this out. We were married in September 2009 and this process is taking so long. Has anyone had a similar experience with NVC?

    Thanks )

  9. the 'amendment' doesn't actually 'count' until it's submitted to IRS.

So, if you've not sent off to IRS yet, it's NOT official.

but - I don't want to get confused or confusing about this.

lets see - you have original 1040, already submitted to IRS.

then you have 1040X with a W-7 - did you submit this to the special W-7 processing address in Austin? IF YOU DID - then you don't need to submit anything else into the IRS.

as for submitting something to the US Treasury department - I've never heard of that. Treasury handles monies, IRS handles tax obligations. Different things, differnt departments.
