  1. I'm sorry your cousin is going through this, she should talk to a lawyer. Her husband through her out of the house is keeping her belongings and leaving her with nothing, this is exactly when family needs to step in and help. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice but their should be some form of low cost to free legal advice a women's shelter of Catholic charity might have help for her.

Thank you for your reply. It's really hard to see her going through this. She's now planning on going back home in our country for she's feeling hopeless. I told her not to, since she give up everything out there to be here in the US. You're right a divorce lawyer is what she needed. I wish she'll just stay with me but my husband and I are always traveling because of the kind of work my husband have.

  2. If your cousin would seek marriage counseling, then she would be informed of ALL of her options. If she was interested in terminating her marriage then she would be doing the research. Nothing will happen unless she the cousin start something, not you.

Then after the cousin and the hubby get back together, then she will be pointing her finger at you, as the person who started the divorce conversation.

You know I asked here in this site since this is a very good site to get some information. You're just annoying trying to tell me if they get back together that they'll point out there fingers on me. My cousin asked help she's been in hell for 3 years now. Trying to work out their marriage now her husband threw her out in the house. Maybe your anti divorce but sorry it doesn't work the way you want it to be. So better stop replying in my topic coz you're no help.

  3. I don't think marriage counseling will help them out. Her husband is now talking to other girls online. And it's my business now since my cousin needed help and we're pretty close. Just so you know your reply didn't help. I don't need a sarcastic smarty pants here.

  4. My cousin is in Texas. She's going through a divorce. What causes the divorce is her stepson and her husband being selfish.

What happen is that when she got home from work one night her stepson is having friends over the house drinking, which is illegal for they're underage. This happen while her husband is out of town. It happen more than once. One night she got home from work, there's her stepson's friends again and this time with girls. When she tried to get in their master bedroom it's locked. She knocked so many times but no one would open the door. So she decided to call the police. The police came and open the door, come to find out her stepson is doing drugs with his gf in the room. So the police put them in jail. When her husband came home, He told her that she needs to pay for his son to get out in jail. She told him how can she pay she didn't have any money. ( Since they got married their situation is it's his money and her money never their money ). Then he told her to get out of his house. So my cousin stayed with a friend. Now she's staying in an apartment with nothing. Her husband took her laptop and now planning on taking away her car which he bought for her and the only way for her to go to work.

My question is what my cousin should do? Any people who can give advice? I told her to find a divorce lawyer ( maybe she can find a lawyer that she could pay later). What are the possibilities that could happen to her? She's a 10 yr green card holder.

  5. It says on your timeline that you got GC last year 2010? Is that correct am not sure what you are referring to here. You have a GC for 2 years and don't remove conditions till 2012

My case is different my CO put Resident since 05/20/2009 in my card, so by the time i received my green card I have 1 year validity on it. I remembered my husband ask my CO during AOS interview if I'm a resident already by the time my marriage got registered? And the CO put a note on my papers then.

  6. Hi everyone is it possible that rfe is in NOA1? or all NOA1 have this paragraph?

NOTE: Conditional resident applicants, including conditional resident dependents residing overseas pursuant to military or government orders WILL NOT RECEIVE an ASC appointment notice. To complete biometrics processing, these applicants must submit the required listed on the I-751 form instructions.

If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents to assist USCIS in processing your petition and to establish eligibility to remove the conditional basis of your permanent residence. PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF THIS RECEIPT NOTICE WITH ANY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS YOU SUBMIT. Such evidence may include, but is not limited to, the following items:

-Lease of joint tenancy or joint ownership of assets

-Joint mortgage agreement and/or property deed

    -Tax Returns

-Birth certificate (s) of any child (ren) born from the marriage

-Joint policies of life, medical and/or car insurance

Is the paragraph after the note an RFE to me? or what? Or it's still related to the NOTE ? I remember having an rfe it was in a different letter and it's colored yellow.

I passed our tax returns, but non of lease, mortgage and joint policies since we don't have that. We still live in my in law's house and there's no policies of life and car insurance since my husband is only under her parents car insurance. No medical insurance either.

I'm just so paranoid waiting. I hope it's not an rfe to me and I just ignored it for a long time unconsciously.

I just hope all NOA1 are stated like that. Please let me know. Thank You.

  7. Hi everyone I haven't been here for a while, now I'm back again. So i'm getting all my papers together for my removal of condition. I'm from Georgia but we moved here in Key West Florida for the main time. But we still have a home in Georgia. I don't know how long will gonna be here in Florida.

Now my question is what address should I put when I'm going to pass my documents to uscis?

I'm thinking If I'm going to use Florida address then there gonna have my fingerprints taken here in Florida. But I'm thinking since my old documents like AOS is in Georgia, so their gonna send my old documents to Florida? Which I believe will make the process more slower. Or maybe AOS documents have nothing to do for my removal of condition?

Or should I use Georgia? which will cost more for me coz I'm gonna be flying back to GA for finger printing and etc.

Or Can I use Georgia address and have the finger printing here in Florida?

I really have no idea, so to those who have knowledge please let me know.

    Thank you in advance.

  8. Does anyone of you been out of US for 5 mos with conditional green card and doesn't have any problem coming back in US? And will this affect removal of conditions later? My husband is a missionary in the Philippines. We're planning on going back August or September. I will have my removal of condition on February and will be back in US in January.

I know you can go out in US for 6 mos. having GC and will need re entry permit if you'll be out for 1 yr.

Would it be to risky for me to do this? Please let me know about your story and what you think.

  9. I don't know if you remember. I shared here on VJ about my Canadian friend who visits US and decided to get married with our friend also who's my husbands childhood friend . They've been married for 2 years and wasn't able to file for AOS. Due to lack of requirements, but he just got a job and on salary now. ( so he can really file soon )

I shared VJ's to her but I don't think she tried to visit the site yet.

I just found out that she leaves her husband and the baby. She said she's unhappy with their marriage. And said that she's looking into immigration processes and will talk about what they're going to do with the baby. I have no idea on what she's going to do and she sounded like she don't know too. I just hope that their relationship will work out or something. I don't know :( just one of them isn't in love with the other anymore. Obviously its her, coz she leave. She's staying with a friend who happens to be a man. I know what you're thinking coz I'm thinking the same thing. Her husband is willing to wait for her to come back after her fling. He still loves her.

I'm bias on both of them cause they happen to be one of our close friend.

What are the consequences on her situation? and what do you think the best thing for her to do?

What do you think he should do? ( I know he will hesitate to process the papers now after what she did )
