We met in August of 2007 in Jinotega, Nicaragua. I was living there doing mission work at the time. He came to help as a translator for a large group we had from the states and we got know each other that week on a trip up the Rio Coco. We spent the next few months getting to know each other.
I had to return to the states in November and we continued with the long distance relationship. In february 2008 I was able to come back to spend another 5 months working with the mission.
In July I had to return home to the states again and we had a long five months apart until I was able to return to visit him just after Christmas. He proposed the day I flew in and we spent three weeks together.
We I came back we began looking into immigration options and began collecting the documents. We finally got everything together and it was filed in Dec. 2009.
