  1. Hi everyone...

My husband and I are planning to petition my sister. She's from the Philippines. Actually my husband wants to petition my sister (coz I'm not an American citizen yet) because our income this year is bigger compared from last year so we decided that this could be a good year for us to be qualified??? I read something about that anyone can petition to someone eventhough he or she is not related to the petitioner as long as the petitioner is an American citizen. How true is that? I have read also about that it will be hard for my husband to petition my sister coz my sister is over 21 yrs old. She will be 28 yrs old this coming July 2012. How true is that? Could you please tell us what to do?

    Pls help us...

    Thanks...

  3. According to your timeline you received your Green Card Feb 10, 2011. You also stated in your original posting you have received your Green Card. That is all you need. With the physical GC in hand, you do not need the I-551 stamp in your passport. The I-551 stamp is a temporary stamp to allow you certain privileges while the Green Card is being produced.

AP is for Advanced Parole and you do not need to concern yourself with AP any longer.

    Good luck all

Thank you so much... Your answer is a big help... I really appreciate it... thanks again.... ;)

  4. Hi guys here I am again...

I am still really busy right now but I have to spare time for this coz it's really important...

When I had my interview on January 4, 2011, the interviewer asked for more proof about our relationship if it is really genuine. After gathering all the documents they needed, we mailed it to them and finally I got my green card last February 10, 2011. But we read something on Visajourney about a stamp on the passport????? Is it really important???? I don't get a stamp on my passport it's because on the day of my interview, they asked for more evidences...

Since, I already have my greencard, can I travel outside the U.S. now without the stamp???? Because I and my husband are planning to go back to the Philippines next year for our wedding there...

Thanks... and may God bless us all! ;)

  5. Your immunisations don't look complete to me so I would see a CS. BUT if you like you can wait until after the interview and they will RFE you there if they don't think they're complete. That way you don't spend money when it's not required..

But it says I have to bring the documents with me on my interview... I am afraid that they might cancel it for not having a complete documents... ;(

  6. let's check here....did you ever have a medical exam by an authorized licensed doctor , not only vaccination documents?

If so they should have filled out this form I-693 for you and as Shescott responded given a copy to you.

Normally you should have submitted it along with your AOS package, if you didn't, there's a chance you will get a "Request for Evidence (RFE)" and/or you will just bring it along on your interview date.

As far as your question regarding SEALED goes - the form filled out by the doctor is put in an envelope which is glued closed, in most cases having additional stickers on it so it's clearly visible if you would have opened it. But you MUST NOT open it or USCIS will request a new one, plus you really should get a copy from the doctor's office for your records of it.

Hope this is understandable, if not, ask and I'll try to explain it otherways :)

edit: just re-read your post and I see that you are quoting your letter for the interview - it looks like to me that you didn't submit the form I-693 with your AOS - so you need to make an appointment as soon as possible as you will need the "results" to be handed to the officer giving you the interview. Keep in mind that they will need to do a TB skin test which requires you to go back to the office in 3 days to have the results from it. There is also a chance that they need to do a chest x-ray for that and that may take even longer......

    Good luck for the interview!!!

I am still kinda confused about this... After we submitted our AOS package, we didn't get an RFE or Request for Evidence... I had my medical examination in Manila, Philippines and I thought the documents that they gave me are the documents that the USCIS needed. As what I have said from my previous message that I only got a VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET and a CD which says on it, CHEST RADIOGRAPGH... and I really thought I had all the shots in Manila...

I attached the VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET...

Thanks a lot for the response... It helps a lot... I have a CD that I got from St. Lukes hospital in Manila, Philippines...And on the CD writing, it says CHEST RADIOGRAPH... I haven't opened or watched it yet...lol Does it take too long til I get the sealed envelope??? Because I will be having my interview on January 4...

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! ;)

K-1's have their medical done in home country, the results of which are good for one year. So the OP does not need to get another test.

Since this interview is a form letter, I am going to guess that what you submitted already is fine. They send the same letter to everyone and some things don't apply to all people. I suppose there is a small chance they would give you an RFE for a vaccination supplement on I-693, but one would think if they were going to do that, then you would have gotten it by now.

Documents establishing eligibility are just your IDs. Good luck!

    Thanks a lot... ;)

Hello!!! based on my understanding if u already submit that document u dont have to submit it... I will go on interview too,I just got my NOA for interview... If u have copy from the physician that u went to just bring it with u... Usually the physician gave u copy of I-693...

Really??? so, when is your interview... My interview will be on January 4... By the way, are you done with that form I-693???

  8. Hello people!

I am really confused about the checklist or documents to bring with me on my interview...

    Things that made me confused:

    1. A completed medical examination (Form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a SEALED ENVELOPE (unless already submitted). I don't know what they meant about the Form I-693 and vaccination supplement in a SEALED ENVELOPE???? Are these the documents from St. Lukes Hospital in Manila, Philippines??? Which is the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet and a CD (I haven't watched it yet)??? When we applied for AOS on August of this year, I have already passed the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet but I don't know in the checklist if that was what they are asking for.. and what made me really confused, they are talking about a SEALED ENVELOPE...

2.All documentation estblishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status... Can you give me an example(s)????

    Thanks in advance...

  10. Hi guys, here I am again...

I am planning to get my sister in the future if I am already financially stable here in California... But since I can't do that for now, I want my sister to just visit me because she is really dying to see the U.S. and see the beautiful places here... But my problem is I don't know the qualifications... What are the qualifications? Is there any other way for me to bring my sister here or a way for her to visit me? Coz I really want her to see the fantastic sceneries/places here.... And I also miss her... Please help me...

    Thanks in advance...

  11. Another vote for sending via balikbayan box. It is, by far, the cheapest way to go.

Where is your location? Usually, there are balikbayan forwarders in most cities.

Thanks for the response guys... I really appreciate it... ;)

  15. We already called the NSC and we're right. The lady who answered us said that the mail was undeliverable. They sent the mail to our physical address and not to our mailing address..they don't deliver mails here in the mountains. :( she said that in 15days we will receive a mail.. I hope she really got our PO BOX number. Supposedly, I will get my green card this month so, maybe I will wait for 2-3 months again... ;(

Thanks for the one who responded... ;)

  16. Hi!

We sent our AOS documents last April 9, 2010 in Chicago, IL. They cashed the check on April 19 but after that we never heard anything from them anymore. My friend told me that supposedly after they cashed the check, they will gonna send us a receipt or the NOA1. And when I and my husband looked at the copies of the documents we sent, we put their our physical address and not our mailing address...so, maybe they sent a letter to our physical address and not to our mailing address??? if that happens, I think we should call them but who are we going to contact???Is there anyone knows who we are going to contact??? please help us...

    Thanks..

    Jess
