I left the Consulate about one hour ago. Had to check out the hotel and check in Ipanema beach. Then internet not working and bla bla bla!!!

    Gotta call my mom now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. hi friendss

    wanted to share my experience:

the main interview got 6 to 8 minutes, she asked me about my wife and how we got friends and about our wedding and honeymoon, and she did not want to see my clues, and she was just listening to me that i was talking about our story to her, one thing that i think helped a lot was my wife's photoblog that i had printed out, i told her about that and she looked at the pictures happily! and she was sensitive about the years of our friendship, wife going to us and marriage. she also asked about our sponsor to see if i know him well i guess.

and she asked about my current job(i am designer) and the economic recession and my plan for the states! then she handed me a card to give to UPS counter!!!

as i insisted before, she just talked to me, she did not want any clues, i think they are psychologists and they see if you are telling the right thing or not.

so as a friend of ours told us here, they are there to detect fraud, and if you are on a genuine case, there would be no need to worry about !

i wish you all the best! and thanks for the congrats!

  5. hi bears,

i wish you luck on your process :D

i did not know that they have prescreeners there, that is not fair, one shall defend what he has declared!

    regards

    m2a

Thanks for the encouragement for us to be calm. Sometimes we get so caught up in our worries and fears that we forget to just breathe and enjoy the fact that we have someone to love.

Unfortunately, not all embassies are created equal. Not everyone is allowed to be at the interview with their spouse. Nor are they all accepting of body language as proof of a legitimate marriage.

So we bring pictures and chat logs and 500+ pages of mostly-yellow-highlighted phone records to show that we talk to our loved ones on a daily basis.

I'm happy that you're comfortable and confident bringing the evidence that you will.

Personally, it's worth it to go through 2 1/2 reams of paper, 2 ink cartridges, and 4 jumbo highlighters. AP at Bangkok is #######. There are no status updates. There are no answers no matter how many e-mails or phone calls you make. Congressmen get mostly the same vague answers petitioners and beneficiaries do. There is not a second interview option. What you get is an FPU interrogation in either December or January, with about 10 days notice, where the petitioner's presence means more than any answers given. Bangkok is not a difficult embassy. Generally, the COs are respectful and efficient in their work. The interview is real, and even though they have an opinion, they are open to changing that opinion. They will accept additional evidence submitted during the actual interview that was not submitted to the prescreeners. They don't take #######, though, and they don't accept body language or lovey eyes as proof. In fact, it's all that paper and ink that you submit which determines what their initial opinion of your relationship is going to be.

For people like Vanessa going through Casablanca and Cheronda going through Lagos, it is a whole different game. Even for those of us going through nicer places like Bangkok, the advice that body language trumps physical documentation of an ongoing relationship is not likely to be received well.

Thank you again, though, for your encouragement for us to be calm. That is something we could all stand to keep in mind.

Good luck at your interview! I can't wait to hear the good news!

  6. my friends,

why do we all transfer our stress to the other!? i come here relaxed and sign out stressful.. i know it is not easy to be calm, but please give some hope! the truth is that it is our right to be get the visa and the entry permission to the us, but for some cases it would take longer or shorter?! what is the matter?! we have passed the long wait and it is the last session, so be cool and take it easy!

i have not printed any chat, video call, email, sms or anything else for the interview..

the only thing i am taking there is my wife's photoblog print plus our marriage photo album and some pics we had together and i am almost sure that the officers there will see the truth through out our body language and the way of speaking..

so be cool and be what you are, you love your wife or husband so it will be shown in your eyes, no need to prove that by chats!? who will read those in your own language??!?!?!

    i feel you all..

I don't want to sound ugly but I have Turkish citizenship and you are from Iran and you get priority before me? I got a case complete in December 17 2009, you got a case complete in January 12, 2010 and I got a May 26th, 2010 interview date and you get May 12th, 2010? And I'm a US Veteran. I never understand how these people are scheduling the interviews! I'm happy for you but it makes me sick as a veteran and they make me go through this

  11. Never heard of someone that got denied but Delayed, Yes... They werejust asking for some more docs

and all went fine. You're just having those butterflies in your tummy that is making you think of these.

You'll be fine...you've made it through the rain, now enjoy the rainbow.

i once talked to a lawyer about that and he assured me that this is an LPR's right to take his spouse to US. so dont worry about that!!
