Update.. got appointment date for 5/2 at 8 AMGot Biometrics appointment for 4/19.. but I sent the letters back to reschedule as we cant make that date.

I just applied for my wife's ROC to Vermont on 3/19.. they recieved it yesterday morning. No NOA1 yet. Is the NOA sent through mail?

Whatever you do, do not get married in Toronto City Court..
I got married there 12/31/2012..didnt have my marriage certificate for almost 5 months after that.

Another question..
Do I (the USC) have to file the i865 even though my wife is already here (and has been here for 1.5 years)?
I dont get the reasoning behind it if it's a yes.

I live in NJ and my wife (who lived in Toronto, 7.5 hours driving from NJ) had her interview in Montreal (5 hours driving away from NJ) and I still didnt go to her interview.

I just made the trip on Tuesday. We missed all of the traffic and it was a very scenic drive.
Good luck with Queenston-Lewiston on a Friday night of a long weekend!
Queenston-Lewiston was fine Friday evening.. we got in line 6:00 and were done by 6:10
Late Sunday morning, on the other hand, was a different story. Got on line 11:30 and finally got done at 1:00.
I gotta remind myself to take Rainbow or Peace next time during long weekends.

Wife and I drove up to Toronto to see her parents on Friday and came back yesterday. She was also into all the Celsius and Kilometer talk with her parents and brother. I totally get the paper plates thing.. wife is always amazed at the number of plastic bags the cashiers put the groceries in at the grocery store. I always tell her "it's free and we dont have to pay 5 cents a bag here", but she goes all enviromentalist on me after that
. She was also amazed at the number of TD Banks here in North NJ.. she thought it was a Canadian only bank.She wanted to shop at Dollarama and Chinatown on Spadina St, but we didnt get time.

Drivng to North York/Toronto tomorrow with wifey to see the in-laws.
Crazy.. I've been to Toronto 8 times so far and have never been to CN Tower.
I love driving to Toronto from North NJ. Beautiful hilly roads in New York.. especially Rt 17 West and 81 North. Rt 90 West in NY and QEW, 427 and 401 across the border are boring.
Hopefully there arent too many people at Queenston-Lewiston crossing tomorrow around 5-6 PM..

Hmm.. Brampton DHL asked said to bring two ID's. Dont know what they actually checked though. My wife took her "G" license and the Ontario health card.

6 weeks? I wish my certificate came in 6 weeks. We got married in Toronto 12/31/2009 and initially got misspelled Marriage Certificate in March and got the final corrected Certificate in mid May.

yeah that is what we do.. we fly up to Bellingham, WA and someone in my family comes and picks us up as it is only about 40 minutes from them.. can't imagine what it costs to fly into Vancouver right now.. yikes!
From Newark to Toronto is airfare 300-350 bucks. I can drive there to Toronto from my place in North NJ in 7 hours..and that's including customs.

Did y'all go to Eaton Center?You got there yesterday and I left yesterday. lol. I am exhausted but it was a great time. I did the Hippo Bus tour in Toronto with my visiting relatives. I highly recommend it. It was weird doing tourist stuff in what was basically my home town.
My cousin (from England) kept asking me questions about different things and I guess I would give him a blank look. Finally he goes "I keep asking you things, but keep forgetting that you haven't been here in so long that you don't remember." lolOf course, I got lost a few times. Things change so quickly. I went shopping for some items to bring back to the US that I can't get here. Ended up telling my husband that it was like shopping in the US. I would go to the places I would normally find them and they wouldn't be there. Or they no longer sell them. It's so good to be home.
So, anyway..... back to the original question. The next time I'm going "home" to Canada will be in July.

My experience (well.. my wife's actually
). She was entering with a CR-1 visaWe drove back yesterday (5/8) through Peace Bridge and it was painless! We crossed the bridge and got to the primary checkpoint at 10:30, the lady took our passports (I'm USC she's Canadian) and wrote bunch of stuff for 5 minutes after which she told us to drive to secondary. We went inside secondary and waited about 30-35 minutes to be called up to the counter where they took my wife's photo and her fingerprints. Then they explained to us about the Conditional part of the visa..and some other stuff and we were out by 11:30!
1 hour total from getting to bridge to having stamp on passport!
