  1. RFE = Request for further evidence

We are going through the same process except it was our I-129f which they lost.

We just followed the instructions in the letter and resent everything last week as requested so hopefully

we will here something from USCIS asap.

I just hope you kept copies of everything it certainly makes replacing the lost application a lot easier :)

  2. No still nothing I have sent all the documents over as my partner needs to add passport photos and a copy of the cashed check from the original application (luckily he can access online with his bank) then he will resend it in to Vermont this week.

  3. Thanks for all the lovely replies and support xx

I did make a copy but we had to update most of the forms so original signatures could be done and also reprint the pictures including getting up to date passport photos.

We now have an address and named employee at Vermont office to send the application to so fingers crossed it all gets sorted asap

  4. NVC never received the file. I was chasing for a long time and just receiving the same old it can take 60-90 days from NVC.

I even emailed NVC with a copy of my approved NOA2 and they never responded.

We then finally got in touch with someone at USCIS (after we had been in touch several times, done a service request and had no infopass appointments in our area) who told us to wait 60 days so we did. Finally after waiting the 60 days we got in touch with a supervisor at USCIS and then managed to elevate the call to their boss who gave themselves 72 hours to investigate the matter. The final thing we heard was the email I posted. We have to resubmit if they are actually admitting to losing the case and there is no extra charge to do it and hopefully it is going to be expedited.

  5. Just when you think you are awaiting your packet 3 and interview you chase your application and receive this email:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is unable to locate your petition or application. You are requested to file a duplicate petition or application in order to reconstruct your case. In the interim, USCIS will continue to search for your approved petition, but at this time it appears that your petition has been lost.

  6. I havent sent it yet, i am waiting for the embassy to contact me first. But, I am just wondering if it is neccessary to wait for this contact, the embassy website says forms without a case number will be discarded, i do have my case number so i cant see why they wouldnt accept them.

I am contemlpating sending the forms before hearing from them, i mean if they discard them, well i have plenty of copies which i can send again.

I will just have to call the expensive hotline a week or so later to check that they were accepted for my application, i think spending 10quid on a phone call will be worth it if it means i can get back to the States quicker.

Seriously if i could expedite this process with money, I would.

Even though you have received a case number from NVC it can still take a few weeks for the embassy to process the case onto their systems. So if you send in the forms and they havent got you logged onto their system then as stated they will discard your packet 3.

You dont actually have to call the UK embassy to see if your packet 3 has been sent it is much cheaper to call the DOS number and they can give you this information. (202-663-1225)

  7. I have indeed, but I'm kinda with visacat on this one. I've given myself a good 4 weeks to allow the Embassy to log the case and hopefully send out P3. If I haven't got P3 by the beginning of April I'm going to consider rescheduling the medical - I just wouldn't want the results to be sent to the embassy and then just vanish into the ether....and then have to have another one *shudder*

Well you can always call the DOS and and have them confirm the embassy have sent out packet 3 about a week before the medical then you know for sure.

  8. I am the same i guess im lucky i have been registered with the same doctor all my life. I went in and the receptionist printed off all my vaccination history for me and i have booked an appointment with the nurse for the injection i need which is a tetanus :(

  9. My NOA2 is 16th Feb. My packet was sent to the embassy on 18th Feb.

I have heard it can take three to four weeks at the moment for London to log our cases.

Im not sure about booking the medical before any confirmation that packet 3 has been sent as if it takes so long the medical results could get to the embassy before they even have my details logged in the system. Im sure this would cause problems??

  10. On the note of medicals, it truly baffles me that there is only one PP for the whole of the UK. Completely insane to ask people to travel from NI, Scotland, Wales and Jersey (?) for something that other large countries, like Germany and Canada, offer you several dispersed options.

I wonder how and why this decision was reached, and whether there's anything that can be done to change it?

I agree you would think there would be options available for the rest of the UK
