  • Our Story
    Hi everyone,

Ok here's a short summary of my story :

I met my love on internet in 2004, she's a member of this site as "Babynikki", and we live now in north USA. I am french, living in south Paris' suburbs before immigrating to live with her in Minnesota.

After several visits and wonderful times we spent together in our countries, we decided that we found the one and want to spend our lives together. So I moved in the US, to live with her and also take care of my new family since I became a step dad (she have 3 kids).

After reading again and again on internet about the Visa thing and grab a lot of precious informations on this awesome Visajourney site (been reallyyyyy helpfull) we got married in the US on june 29 2005 and came back together in Paris to claim for a DCF at Paris' US ambassy, on july 8.

Everything went just fine despite some stress and a lot of work gathering all the paperwork with the form I-130 to proof there was a real relationship to the officer at the ambassy, but she's been a real nice lady.
It's been hard to be without Jacqui who had to go back with her children and to her job after July '05 while I was waiting for an answer from the ambassy in Paris, but it finally came in October, Biometrics and last interview approved with last fees to pay...

Then finally I had my passport back with the I-551 stamp to enter the US as an immigrant and the packet to give the officer to the POE (and NOT to open before that, very important.). I sent 3 big cases with all my belongings (mainly Cds, my Guitars and books that I really wanted to keep with me over there) via FedEx who had everything arriving at my wife's place in less than 48 hours.

November 14th 2005, I am arriving in Minneapolis/St Paul Airport in Minnesota, straight from Europe and I am warmly welcomed in the USA by the POE officer who has been very nice. I can finally start a new life with my Jacqui and her 3 daughters.

I had to wait until the end of December to have my Green Card and Social Security Card in the mail, and found a job as a graphic designer 5 min. from home in February 2006.

We are now a happy family, still living in the same place, and are trying to save for a bigger place and a 2nd car. We manage to bring the girls with us for their first trip to France in March 07, a 2 weeks trip, which was way too short but very nice.

I am now about to send the I-751 form and all the documents needed to remove the conditions on my Green Card, since we've been married for less than 2 years when I immigrated, and I later plan to apply for citizenship.
