  1. The back of my check has an NOA1 date of Nov. 6, the same day it was received at the VSC, but still no hard copy! Ack! This whole thing is turning me into such a nut, frantically checking the USCIS website and VJ several times a day!

Yeah, me too, there is something wrong with us isn't there?

Whew! I just came home to find the NOA1 hard copy waiting in my mailbox! Hopefully that means yours is on its way, too, kabhatti!

I keep seeing October people being processed in a month or less; hopefully that's our fate, as well!

  2. So I submitted mine this Monday. Still no NOA1 but I at least have been able to get the tracking number and see that they've been working on it the last two days. :)

Hey, does anyone know how to get to the regional section for Australia? I'd like to ask around there but haven't been able to find a region forum anywhere.

You probably found this on your own already, but if you go on the main forums page, in the Regional Discussions (under General Discussion area) there is a sub-forum for Asia: East and Pacific (except China). This is where the New Zealanders are, so I assume the Aussies will be there too.

    Good luck and speedy processing!

  3. Very rarely if ever will an employer put in a letter that your position is permanant. Really in this day and age, no one's is. I don;t think there are many people that can GUARANTEE that they are going to have a job 5 years from now. I got a back up co-sponsor just in case. I am not sure if I am going to need them or not. If your fiance goes to the interview and the CO determines that you are not qualified but everything else is in order, they will just ask that you get a co-sponsor and approve pending the review of that information. If you are worried about it, just get one and then you won't have to.

That's a really good point! Thanks for the advice.

  4. Hi all,

I need some advice on filling out my I-134 (we're still a long way off from that point, but it's nice get worrying out of the way early, yeah?) I currently have a full time job in which I earn enough to meet the minimum requirement for supporting my fiance and I. The thing is, my position is listed as temporary, as in, I won't necessarily be employed here long enough to support my fiance for the required five years. I don't have much savings left, as I was traveling for a year, and then unemployed for several months.

Do I risk my fiance being denied a visa if I don't have a co-sponsor? Should I seek one out now, or will I be fine applying in my current situation?

    Thanks for your advice!

  5. I'm still a long way off from this point, but seeing as K-1 visas seem to be the only thing I can think about these days....

I make enough to be over the poverty line for two people, but my position is "temporary" as per the distinction on the form. I was thinking about writing a cover letter with contact info for my boss saying that we have a verbal agreement for me to work for a year or more (asking him if this is okay first, of course!). Is that overkill? I don't have much money in savings as I was traveling (meeting my fiance) and unemployed for about a year and a half, up until mid Sept.

    Thoughts? Advice?

  6. Hi. I just sent our I-129F off today and thought I'd kick it off for the November crowd. My fiance left the US and I'm already going crazy waiting for him to be back here, but it sounds like I've got to get used to the idea of being a bit lonely for several months yet.

Any other November filers to commiserate or be hopeful with?

We filed yesterday, so i will join you in the november filers. Good Luck to you

    Good luck to you, too!
