    We sent our ROC the middle of June and received a RFE in August, sent it back just before the dead line. The RFE was for evidence from the duration of our marriage. We sent back bank statements and such from the entire time of our marriage.

    We still have not heard a peep from them. I am starting to worry. The past three years of marriage have been terribly difficult, but now we are going to counseling and seem intent to work through our problems. I have this ugly fear that now that we are headed in the right direction that something bad may happen.

    Thoughts, encouragement and prayers are much appreciated at this point :)

    I would like to submit my form asap, yet I did not change my name with SSN, driver’s license, etc, I just got the divorce decree. Can I still apply now, they ask for my SSN on the application for and although I do not think this number will change, I am wondering ..

    Your SSN will stay the same after the name change.

    Hı everyone

    Just stoppıng ın to say hello! I am currently ın turkey and on a Turkısh keyboard so forgıve the typos. havent gotten the hang of the keyboard yet. Mındy how ıs nemcı doıng? I am sure he ıs mıssıng Turkısh food :)

    My mother ın law and sısters have been teachıng me to cook for the last week. I wıll be sure to send you some recıpes. They seem so easy once someone showed me how to do ıt!

    As for me the doctor has declared me cancer free for my last three checkups! Tıme to try to start havıng a normal lıfe.

    I'm glad all is well with your health! Necmi is really missing Turkish food!! I can make a mean red lentil soup though:) and some kind of bean soup thing:)

    When I visit again I will expect Necmi's mom to give me the low down on his favorites:) His sister helped me with a salad..I just cant get the hang of cutting the greens so small...I left my crock pot there for his sister to use..she was really impressed with it:)

    and also please help me.... the day i will get my interview the first time when i go in the embassy what papers that they ask me to give them anyone can help me please help.....

    Also take the copy of the NOA2, sometimes they ask for this. Go back over the packet 4 email just to make sure you have everything..do you need two extra passport photos?

    hello vj i need your helps...i will get my medical exam in ankara 15 febuary 2011...i need to know how long it will take?how much money should i bring

    for my medical...i dont know what to do...how much money that they will get from..how much money should i bring 2000$or3000$ ...should i bring more or no..i want to preapare for that since so i wont have any problem over there in ankara

    My husband went to the American Hospital in Istanbul. His total amount paid there was 450 lira. Some people have had a problem getting the USC into the Embassy, so have your wife email them and ask for an email that says it will be ok..then she will have something to show at the gate. I didn't have a problem getting in though. The interviewer asked Necmi one question, asked me when we will marry and where I work..that was it:) It was simple and painless:)

    I have a question and maybe some of you fellow Ameriturks can answer: Why Don't they use Clothes Dryers in Turkey like we do in the USA? I see them very seldom like in a Laundry in a Village but for the Norm... they just don't exist and at first I was going nuts :crying: and then I took up drying the clothes the Turkish way which isn't so bad, unless it rains for 40 days and 40 nights! :help:

    Goodness that is sooo true! When i visit Turkiye I am excited to get home and use my dryer:) When we move to Turkiye (in about 10 years;) I will be asking that this be installed:)

    Necmi is wanting to say that the reason is that they don't have the extra money for the electric let alone the dryer itself.

    I will work an extra hour or two each week to pay for that electric:)

    and btw...i have never seen a Laundry!! does anyone know the Turkce word for it??

    I told him we're (the AmeriTurks family here on this thread) are all going to meet up in Vegas and have a good time! And since you're going to be living about 3hrs out I think you and wife are closest to that place.

    What is going to be fun is the husbands all together <probably smoking hooka?> and drinking cay, and all us wives playing slots! LOL ha ha lol..... funny

    When are all of you meeting up?? We would love to come:)

    Just called the NVC, they received it and sending it out today to Dublin consulate! Hopefully he will be getting Packet 3 soon. Man after the NOA2, the process seems to go faster *whew*

    Good Luck to everyone still awaiting their NOA2 or whatever you may be waiting for!

    YAY:) Do you have packet3 ready? It does go faster:) but for me it slows down again becuase ankara is so backlogged!! sooo 72 more days until I see him again....

    Fuat's Green Card arrived on Saturday ! We are done for a while.. sooo nice to be able to say that.

    Mindy, will be following your journey and hoping everything goes well. It looks like we may be in Michigan in September. I am just waiting for the doctor to give me clearance to travel.

    We have an interview date! I asked for the time off work today. I can't take annual leave because two nurses already have the week off:( So I am at the mercy of my manager! She wants a blow by blow of what I will be doing so she knows how many days to give me. It kinda bums me out becuase I would like to spend a few days with him when we get back!!

    I have a question though...in packet 3 it states the visa will arrive in 10 business days. did the old packet say 3-4? I can't remember and I deleted it after I got my email with the link to the updated one (complete with the fee change to $355!) I don't want to leave him there to follow me in a few days..I was looking forward to seeing him on a plane for 12 hours without smoking:)

    To all april 2010 filers who got approved and start preparing documents for the interview, i have some questions for you: first the letter of intent, does it really have to be notarized?

    second is the pictures, how many pictures youre preparing for the interview as proof of relationship? will you paste it on paper or just put in one envelop and put caption at the back of the pictures?

    I haven't read that the letter of intent needs to be notarized..so I hope someone else says no about that because I sent my without it:(

    With the I129F I sent 12 photos from three trips. I had a narritive that was about a page long explaining the three trips and what was going on in the photos. In the narritive I would put "We were in istanbul on 09/25/09 doing...(Photo #2)" then on the back of the photo I would label "photo #2 istanbul 9/25/09 and our full names" if we were somewhere that we had a receipt wrote "see receipt #2", copied and label that as well.

    In this packet I had only one trip so I included only 3 pics labeled as before. Hope that is helpful:)

    Can anyone speak as to how many example emails they sent. Our problem is that we talk all day everyday on Blackberry messagener and we don't have a way to keep the history unless I copy and paste it into an email which I suck at remembering to do this!!
