Call the Nat'l Customer Service line, get the service request in, then make an Infopass apppointment to get an I-551 stamp. That's all there is to it.

So everyone is clear. USCIS is a federal agency. Making a false statement to any federal agency including USCIS is a criminal offense and is grounds for a criminal prosecution. Your case will be impacted. If you are concerned about the NOA being inadequate, explain that to the IO. Don't be deceptive, and do not lie. Take the original NOA and explain the issues you are concerned about.

To members on here that encourage deceiving, misleading or lying to USCIS, keep those encouragements to yourself.

I'm new here, I was following this discussion for the last few days, while awaiting my approval from VSC. I filed my I-751 on December 6th, and just received approval letter today, approval date 8/27. Can't wait to receive my new GC

You can file Form N-400 within 90 days of meeting the "continuous residence" requirement along with the other requirements. The N-400 Instructions document is a good source for guidance in filing this form. Refer to Page 1 for the "Other Requirements."

Got the approval letter today for permanent resident for my wife! I found it odd the letter said nothing about a "10 year visa" but just said she's approved for "permanent residence", is this the same? Anyways I was really worried for minute because it took so long, letter said GC should be here within 90 days. Please update my info on the time table, if I need to do this then please inform me and I will do so. Thank you!

Success!! After sending off my evidence just a few weeks ago, I received my approval Monday 20th August and new green card arrived on Saturday 25th August 2012! So glad to have gotten over that hurdle. Good luck to the rest of you, I'll probably be seeing you all on the citizenship forums before you know it!

The processing time for this center compared to CSC is almost night/day.

It's crazy the amount of RFE's in this group

I was thinking the same thing...unusually high number of RFEs within this group? My thoughts are it impacts the individual cases as a delay but I wonder to what extent it will impact other cases within this group and thereafter. Hopefully it won't be too bad of a cascading effect.

There is no reason to do that.

Just a intrigue question, if someone go to US with tourist visa and then stay ilegal for 4 months or 1 year, and then find someone, what the person should do? Can they get married and just work on the paper to stay legal?

If you do leave US make sure you take greencard and original extension letter!! Lena was just detained for 30 minutes while they verified information on letter was current!

Definitely be sure to take the original extension letter with you. Not having it with you will create headaches you could truly do without.

Looks like VSC has yet to approve any of the Dec. filers, hopefully we can see some developments soon.

Not worth the trouble and consequences. You have to adjust to a status that allows employment authorization. Your current status disallows working without authorization.

Let's see....I got approved for my Green Card during the AOS interview on Dec 29th. Got the stamp and went flying outside of the country on Dec 30th. And returned on Jan 11th or so...all of this before I had the actual Green Card which came a week after my return. All I needed was the stamp, obviously the passport and that was it. Never got asked for anything else. Bon Voyage!

I received my Green Card in the mail today. Looking back...this process went by quickly. Just little over 2 months from when they received it to me holding my Green Card in my hand. Hope everyone gets approved and their cases processed quickly. All the best Hudons...can't wait to hear you give the good news!

It typically takes 14 days for the EAD card to get in once you have received the "Card Production notice".

First, let me say congratulations to savaleta and hakuna matata on your AOS approvals.

We just got back from Honolulu and it's getting late, so I'll give a quick update now and a full review tomorrow.

We are so happy; we were approved today!! The interview was easy and the IO was very friendly. A few hours after the interview we received the "card production" email. Now that we are home I check the online status and it has moved from the first circle (where it's been since October 2nd) to the last circle "document production".

Thanks to all our fellow October filers for their well wishes and support. As others have said, it really helps to experience this journey with others and share experiences.
