I'm really sorry for you ONN. I hope you find someone that you deserve, who will love, spoil, cherish, understand you, bring you joy and make you forget this nightmare.
Thanks licia.

Kathy, thanks. How I wish this process wasn't so toll-taking... emotionally, physically, mentally, financially. Sigh.
Thanks, Third. It just feels horrible to post such negative things when you see others celebrating and so full of hope. And then at the same time you feel so left out... keep wondering "why me?"
ELW, Nina, Sara, thanks for the support & prayers. I'm trying to find meaningful things to do now to keep myself busy and not drive myself even crazier.
k.loveh, thank you. My congrats to you and your SO.
Starlight, thanks.
You all are so kind. I wish you all happiness and love. God bless.

sorry ONN. any chance of reconciling? would u move to india?
No idea fixing it. I had said I would but I need to ask myself whether I trust him enough. A man who can change his mind like this now can do anything in future. I just wish he had shared his fears/thoughts with me before making such a huge decision on his own. He didn't even think about me. Forget about asking me, I wasn't even one of the first few people whom he told about his decision. Apparently, he told everyone else before me and then just said to me about his decision even when he knew this decision of his was going to affect me the most after himself. I feel betrayed.

im sorry......what happened?

Sara,
It was a perfect match because we felt so and everyone agreed. We did everything together for eight months - laughed, cried, loved and understood each other. We also filed out our I-129F, got NOA1, then after 4 months got our NOA2... then in another two months while waiting eagerly for packet 3 and 4 and sending stuff back to consulate, we found out our interview date was yet another two months away. We got sad but were happy now we had a 60 day count down and then we will be together forever. Yea right!
Two weeks before the interview, he went for medical (passed it), submitted all the docs to VFS the next day and came home and said to me he doesn't want to come to America any more. Our interview would have been two days back but he didn't go to it. He said he didn't feel like coming any more... :'(
I withdrew our file and canceled the petition.
I don't want to ruin other people's day because they have good things happening. It's nice to see couples who stick together... for years. My hands are trembling seeing what is love and what I saw in my life.

I don't even know where to begin... living one day at a time and realizing each moment the harsh reality of life and the bitter truth that it's over.
Reading stories on VJ about couples waiting and being patient and getting excited about things in life makes me happy. At least they stick to each other in good times and bad compared to some that just give up after making promises and giving false hopes. May be it is all for good, but it just doesn't seem so right now. Life sucks.

I hope that no one on here ever has to go through this kind of ordeal but here is what I did:
1. Wrote the withdrawal letter as suggested by milimelo and got it notarized.
2. Scanned the letter into a PDF file.
3. Mailed the original notarized letter to US Embassy with tracking service for delivery.
4. Sent the scanned PDF document via email to the US Embassy with the shipment tracking info. I had also requested them to send me a reply when they receive my email with attachment and they were nice enough to confirm the receipt.
The US Embassy accepted the scanned version of the letter and said they've added it to the file.
Thanks everyone.

You want to call USCIS and talk to a person to find out whether your file has actually left the USCIS office or not. Even if the letter says the file was sent to NVC, it takes a few days/weeks for the file to actually leave from the USCIS. Good luck!

Be strong, Karen. I know how it feels but we got to keep the faith and divert our minds from sad thoughts. *hugs*

Congratulations, Shivali & Parag! Wishing you guys all that is good. My family wishes you guys congrats too.

Thank you, everyone for your supporting comments.
karenista, I'm so sorry to hear about your story. It just feels so terrible and hurt isn't even the word to describe how it feels. Oh well.. that's life I guess. I wish you the best as well. thank you.
itzallgood, thanks for your words. It will have to be a man of solid character but now I've lost all the trust on men out there.
Nik+Heather, yes, I've waited for more than ten days now since he announced his decision. I do agree with you but with this kind of situation, I'm more worried about being forced to take responsibility for people who I don't trust and could become my legal responsibility against my wish.
As for him changing his mind again, I am certain I am not interested in overlooking this decision of his. It's caused pain and done damage not only to me but my family/relatives and it's not even worth describing to what extent. When he decided, that's exactly what I told him. I asked him to think about it after going for the interview but he refused and was adamant about just not going. I can't change his mind and honestly, now I don't want to. Thanks for your comments though.
Like rebeccajo said, I'm withdrawing this petition for good.
jellyfish, thanks. It's not possible for me to go with him to the interview. At first I had offered to go but he said he would be fine and that he'd rather have time to spend with me later than for his interview. Any ways, it doesn't even matter now.
I still can't believe it.
I'm heading out to the post office to mail my withdrawal letter to the embassy now.

I hate when this happens, all of us are waiting for our visa to be approved and "NOW" she decides not to follow through. Note to everyone make sure you are willing to spend the rest of your lives together BEFORE you file for a K1 visa. This is very upsetting to me. Someone elses petition could have been approved and actually want to get married.
Well, I'm sorry that you're bothered. That's all I can say because believe it or not even I wasn't the one who decided this. Thanks for understanding. I too went through more than eight months of waiting only to find myself at this.

There are a lot of people who get approved at the consulate and then don't take the flight over.
And there are lots of people who come over, don't marry, and return home.
And there are lots of people who marry and then get divorced later.
Better to just worry about your own case and leave everybody else be.
Thank you for your kind words. Appreciate the thoughts.

milimelo, thank you for the information. I appreciate it. The file that I'm wanting to withdraw is for my fiance, who'd have been my husband if we'd have gotten married.

Thank you, milimelo & puchbrk.
Do I need to notify the NVC or DoS as well about the petition withdrawal?
Thanks again.

I have sponsored parents of my fiance to come to the US on B-2 tourist visa. They haven't gone for an interview yet.
I am going to withdraw my fiance visa petition (K-1) as we are not going to pursue our relationship further.
I also want to make sure that his parents would not be able to use my supporting documentation to enter the US on a visitor's visa as they become my responsibility if they do enter.
Is there a way I can withdraw my documentation/affidavit of support I-134 for them? What else can I do to make sure they won't misuse my paperwork?
Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, my fiance refused to come to the US two weeks before the interview.
The file is at the consulate and the interview is scheduled for next week.
I have a few questions:
- How do I cancel or withdraw my K-1 petition?
- Does the consulate need a letter from me?
- Can I send them an email now and send the letter in snail-mail?
- Does the withdrawal letter need to be notarized?
- Any sample letters?
Thank you.
How to Cancel Affidavit of Support (I-134) for a Tourist B-2 Visa?

Hi Reneehao, here is what I did:
1. Wrote the withdrawal letter (included the K-1 information as well as B-2 information: full name, DOB, Address, passport numbers, date of when I-134 was signed for all beneficiaries) as suggested by milimelo and got it notarized.
2. Scanned the letter into a PDF file.
3. Mailed the original notarized letter to US Embassy with tracking service for delivery.
4. Sent the scanned PDF document via email to the same US Embassy with the shipment tracking info. I had also requested them to send me a reply when they receive my email with attachment and they were nice enough to confirm the receipt.
The US Embassy accepted the scanned version of the letter and said they've added it to the file.
Hope this helps.
