Well, I just got a call from USCIS to schedule my oath ceremony for next Thursday. Hopefully I'll get the letter in time. I guess somebody finally realized that as of tomorrow my file would have been out of processing time. I'm glad to have gotten that call, let me tell you. I'll be going alone because my husband won't be able to get the time off on such short notice, but that's okay. I'll happily attend without my own head if it means that this will be over.
Yay! Finally! Happy your wait s almost over! Long overdue.

Thank you for your response guys, I really appreciate your feedback. I am checking my mailbox every day after I go home from work and crossing my finger every time I open the mail box. I dont know when this long awaited letter will come.
Definitely wanna take oath on this May 17 Ceremony. I dont wanna push it until July, that will be 10 months of N-400 Journey and I guess it will be one of the longest one in history. Desperately waiting to get that certificate so that I can upgrade my wife's I-30 Petition from F2A to IR1.

Hi, I got my oath letter 9 days before the ceremony! I was surprised it was only the week after.
So that would give at least a couple more weeks for yours to arrive to make the May 17 ceremony. Fingers crossed for you.

Congrats to everyone who has been approved and hoping those still waiting get thir oath ceremonies soon.
Went to Social Security today and wanted to share that they can give you a print out showing that they have you as a US citizen in their records. After a 3 hour wait I got a super helpful SS guy who gave me 3 print outs - 1 verifying number, 1 for the new card and 1 showing my citizenship. He stamped nd dated all of them too.
Now to apply for a passport!

Hi everyone!
Yesterday I became a U.S. citizen! Woop woop!
:dance: However I know I have to apply for a U.S. passport which means sending in my original naturalization certificate. Just when I thought my days of watching the mail were over lol!
This is kindof scaring me as I can't help but think what if USPS or the Dept. of State lose it! Ugh my goodbye to USCIS will be postponed 
and I won't be able to travel for 10 months or so while I wait for the replacement. What is the safest way to do the passport?
Also just to complicate things I will likely be starting a new job in 2-3 weeks and will be e-verified. Should I go to SS before I send of for my passport?

I got married in NV and took my husband's last name by using it on the AOS forms. and yes it became my legal name!
I changed my name at SS, DMV etc. Basically everywhere in this country.
At N400 I used my husband's name (what was on the green card) and had no issues. When doing the paperwork I did elect to do a name change however, as I wanted to add my maiden name as my middle name. At interview the IO verified that I wanted to take advantage of the free name change and change my legal name from first name, husband's last name to first name, maiden name, husband's last name.
So yes whatever's on the green card is her legal name.

Got an online update today that my oath has been scheduled... Now just waiting for the oath letter, to know the date etc.

Well I just bit the bullet and called the mis-information line and of course they could tell me nothing. Still pending, have not be scheduled for the Oath yet. So I go back to waiting... and waiting.
I'm sorry Mozplay... Hopefully you'll hear early next week, since I finally heard today almost a month after my interview. Fingers crossed your wait is almost over.

Looks like we've had some good progress since last I checked in. Lots of approvals and oath dates... congrats to all of you! You must be so happy to be checking off all these boxes. Almost done
Luke and Deanna, my interview was Feb 13 and I'm still waiting too. I was approved pending name check (they had to name check the name I now want to use - my husband's surname - though I've never actually used it). I will have to call them to see what's up.
Alacranita .. it was lllllooooonnnnnnnggggggg. Don't get there before they tell you to, because they don't open the court up early. The room is also small, so get there on time. They also start on time. The people are really nice but because they encourage everyone to take photos when it's their turn to go up, it kinda takes forever. I'd say that you should expect to be there for about 3 hours. We had 4 small children with us so it was a good excuse to leave a little early, but I think that's very much frowned upon. But the kids were really getting fidgety.
Hey Mozplay... I think I'm in a similar boat. Recommended for approval at my interview on February 11th, no news since... No online updates nor oath letter. I'm adding my maiden name as a middle name so maybe the name change is slowing it down. I wouldn't have bothered making the minor name change if I'd known... Hopefully they'll get moving soon. The IO at my interview said oath in about 2 months, I thought she was giving me an estimate of the longest it would take, I guess not!

I had my interview yesterday and they did not ask to see my passport. That being said I have not traveled outside the U.S. in the last 3 years.

Nice Marie....from my experience, however, expect the Ceremony notification letter inyour mailbox before any kind of online update haha...We got our ceremony letter 2 days ago, and online, it says we have to go for our interview on January 31st

interviews, oath ceremonies, November is moving!!! For those still waiting fingers crossed your cases make progress soon, it sucks some offices are slower...Had my interview this morning - recommended for approval... Called in about 15 minutes early by an older lady. Got right too it with oath to tell truth, then asked to see PR card and DR. license. Then she told me it was time for the English test (apparently they really do give it to English people!) Quite the stretch
I had to read "how many U.S. senators are there?" Then I had to write "there are 100 U.S. senators."Next up was civics... She asked me 6 of the easier questions - none of the ones with dates nor state specific. She stopped me after 6 - all good. Then she went through the application questions. Then asked for another set of passport photos and had me sign them. They had sent me the yellow letter asking me to bring them, guess they lost the first set. She had a huge 1 and a half inch thick file on me... Then she asked me if I still wanted to change the name, I said yes. I am adding my maiden name as my middle one since I never had one. She had me sign the court name change paperwork.
Then she checked in pen on a sheet of paper that she was recommending me for approval. She handed me the sheet. Then she turned to the computer, clicked a few buttons, then said "oops I hit the wrong button... oh well"
She didn't fix it either... maybe later? or maybe it was nothing? Hopefully she didn't hit "denied"! 
Then as we left the room I saw another IO who I've had before for biometrics he turned to the IO who had interviewed me and asked her how it went... I got the impression she was new.
So that was it folks... Btw I was applying on 3 year basis and the only question she asked on marriage was "are you married?" (wouldn't I have to be, given i've only been a PR 3 years?!?
) I said "yes, that was my husband sat next to me in the lobby".Now just waiting for online approval to verify all is good, then oath

Marie, i got one of those letters. They did lose my photos, so the new ones i brought to the interview were necessary. I even saw a "No photos" sign on my folder

Today I received a yellow letter telling me additional documentation is needed for my interview: 2 passport pics...
No big deal... but kind of curious as to what they did with the first set I sent...
And as to what they do with all these pics since every card i've had from them in the past has used the biometrics picture. Oh well hopefully i'll get a better shot this time!

Hi guys, im learning tonight about an IRS Form 1722?
I thought all that was needed was Tax Transcripts.
Our interview is on the 31st Yikes!
I think that IRS form is the official name for tax transcripts...

I'm a little surprised my in-line-for-interview letter is taking so long! Blarg.
Fingers crossed for you... Maybe your case will be like mine... Took over 5 weeks after biometrics to be put in line for interview, then the next day they scheduled the interview.

And alacranita... the Rochester office only opens one day a week so we get sent to Buffalo for everything but I hadn't thought about the oath ceremony. I'm actually going to be in the Buffalo office on Wednesday (a friend of mine has her interview and I'm going for moral support). I'll either get her to ask or ask myself when I'm there.

Hi I did this! It was easy. I had indicated it on my form. At the interview they asked me if I still wanted to change my maiden name to my middle name. I said yes and they had me sign a form.
The oath ceremony certificate had the new name on it and a photocopy of the document I signed at interview arrived in the mail, a few days after the oath signed by the judge.
