On the positive side Garfield's Medical is tomorrow and I am sending off the interview package to him today......... Yay

Good luck!! Can you let us know how this goes for him? What additional immunizations he has to take? And if you receive results the same day? My S.O. and I are so nervous and can't believe that he has to bring an extra $250 for immunizations.

I have a question for the AOS ladies....well really regarding medical insurance, did most of you put your hubby on your medical insurance and if so, did it boost up how much you have deducted monthly from your pay?

We just had open enrollment and I checked into my health insurance. It will probably be an additional $100/month to add him. I will have to change from employee and child plan to an employee and family plan. Luckily we do not have to wait until we are married because domestic partners are eligible.

WOW Char $250 is a lot...I hope G does not have to pay that much. I will let you know what happen tomorrow

Today, Steven had his first ever dentist appointment. The dentist couldn't believe how healthy his teeth were considering he'd never been to a dentist before. I guess it's from the small amount of sugar people typically eat in Jamaica, compared to America.

Nat my 3 daughters did the foil thing too I was on the floor when I saw them...

In May an american company went to Falmouth and was giving free/low cost dental care. Garfield got dental care for $1000.00 JA which is about $11 US..I wish we had that here

GOOD MORNING FB FAMILY! I just want to say that God is soooo GOOD! I am still in awe that I'm walking around the house and my husband is here! For those of you who know my story, you know that it has been a ridiculously long and stressful journey. And so many of you on here were so supportive of me, and I just want to say THANK YOU to those of have always provided words of encouragement to me when I needed them most. I'm beginning to enter the "next phase" of this journey, and I so look forward to doing so. I will still be up here laughing and joking, providing words and wisdom when I can to help those that are still going through this process. I don't know what I would have done without this board. I you guys so much!

I know I don't post much, mostly just searching to find information. But I need some help with this thing. My mom doesn't like my fiance. She doesn't like the idea that he will be coming here to live with me and he won't have a job or U. S. Citizenship. Why did this lady give one of her co-workers my phone number, trying to hook us up? Know that I am engaged. My fiance and I have talked about him coming and me having to support him time after time, and we both are ok with that. But he does know that he will have to get a job once he gets his EAD. Cause I do not plan on running the household by myself. Anyway. I feel so hurt and betrayed by my mother!!

I am the baby girl I understand that. But I am not a child anymore. I am 28 and doing big things. But that was just wrong of her. I understand she is looking out for my best interest. But DAMN, that was taking it too far.

Has anyone else had to go through this? Can anyone offer some advise?

HELP Please. I feel like cursing her out I am so mad. But I can't do that cause she is my mother. UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

I dont have a mom to fuss and argue with so first, thats good in a way that she is because it shows you care. I think you need to tell your mom in a respectful way that this is your choice and you know that she is concerned about you well being, and that if this is a mistake, please let you find out the hard way, just as I am sure she made some mistakes along the way. Try a soft approach but be firm in direct. Your mind is made up and this is what you have decided is the BEST for you at this point in your life.

Alot of times we think if we say something to our parents we are disrespecting, but know that they are adults just like we are and to get respect you have to give it as well. Don't feel bad that you are having an "adult" convo with your parents.

Mamajew im sorry your mother do not respect you and your relationship. I have never had this proplem so I do not know how to help you. when I told my mother about my relationship she did the motherly thing and ask alot of questions. I told her everything about my fiance and then one day when he called me I hooked her up to the call and introduced them. They spoke and she questioned the hell out of him and after that day everything was cool. Now she calls and ask how he is doing and when he is coming. Maybe you should let them talk if the have not and they can form some type of relationship before he gets here. I would tell her my mind about giving my number to her co-worker. Tell her how upset you are in a respectful way. Some times parents just dont understand...

That is the funny thing.They have spoken a number of times. She even said that she thinks he is a nice man, but not the man for me. I think excuse me, I know her only problem is that he is already established in the U.S. She is an old school lady, stuck in her was. Well she will meet him soon enough. Cause his interview is on the 24th and prayerfully he will be here soon after that. We have come to far now to turn back.

Well time will tell...when he gets here and show her how much he loves you and start working and doing well she will come around. In the mean time tell her to trust you and the way she raised you and give him a chance.

I did email them, but response rcv'd is that when a date is available they will make us know. Is this usually how long it takes or did my documents reach the embassy @ a time where dates are truly not available??

You should try emailing the DS230 to them. I did and I got a reply the same day with my interview date. Have you called the DOS? They can tell you if a date were set.

This woman didn't know she was pregnant and spent like 40 minutes sitting on the toilet thinking she was suffering from constipation. She pushed & pushed, heard a pop, then felt better. But when she tried to get up, she was pulled back down to the toilet. She's just pushed out a BABY. :blink:

Good morning everyone.... I gave much thought to it after Nat's comment so my fiance and I decided on 12/26 @ 12:00. I called the wedding salon this morning and booked it...So there it is. Im not really happy about the date at all..Too many things happen in the month of Dec and now I feel rushed and overwhelmed, very pressured.. but I guess financially it will be worth it.. *sigh*
