  1. hey everyone,

i read many topics in which is discussed what could happen if the foreign fiance would visit the us fiance in the u.s..i know that it is not advised but also that many people take the risk and end up not being denied. i was wondering, what if the u.s fiance visits the foreign fiance? would that also be a ''problem" or a risk? my u.s. fiance wants to come visit me in june in the netherlands, but our petition would be in process then. we actually do not want to take any risks but we just wondered if there will also be much difficulties when its the other way around. can the netherlands also "see" that our k-1 is in process?

thanks everyone, sorry if its a stupid question.

  2. I thought I was Swedish?

    thanks everyone :)

now, one more final thing of the G325a, at "last occupation abroad if not shown above. (Include all information requested above)", i have to fill out my current occupation but as it is already shown above, what do i do here? as it is already shown above in the "applicant's employment last five years" should i just leave it blank?

  3. First, agree with SunDrop :)

Second, and totally random, thank you for asking this qn! I checked my form to double check what I did and noticed I didn't fill in my "last employment" so I went ahead and did that a noticed a MISTAKE!! I had the year wrong (apparently I worked from Aug 08 to Jan 08 and because I then go up, it was Jan 08 to Jul 09 that I worked at the next job.. which is totally wrong :P). lol. So thanks :) Helped me notice a mistake :D

    haha, you're welcome ;)

  4. I'd mention it - is there some reason why you wouldn't want to? (Whether you do or not, be sure to NOT leave unexplained gaps in your timeline.)

no not at all, i just wondered as i didnt get paid. i wrote it down like this now

current internship feb 2010 - present

    unemployed june 2009 - feb 2010

    indonesia internship feb 2009 - june 2009

    unemployed june 2008 - feb 2009

    1st job june 2006 - june 2008

do you think it looks good timewise?

  5. hello everyone,

im dutch and currently a student, last year i did an internship abroad for half a year in Indonesia, which was unpaid. do i still mention it on G325a? now i am writing my thesis (graduation internship) which is paid. i was actually thinking of just writing them both down (also because i wrote the address of indonesia where i lived for half a year on G325a)..what do you think?

    thanks

  6. I would leave them both out of the petition phase as they are not needed. If you think they will help show a bona fide relationship at the interview, take them as they are. The Consulate will understand the phone bills. Not sure why you would show any Dutch bank account information at any time though.

thanks. dutch transactions that relate to the receipts, maybe a bit double to add though

  7. Unless hotel receipts show both your names, I would leave them out. I would print the photos several to a page, in color, on plain paper. Sort them as you please. Little plastic picture folders are likely to get discarded and the photos lost. Full sheets get two-hole punched and wired into the case file.

alright, thanks! what do you think about the dutch phone bills and bank accounts? there are only a few words and even if i did not write the english word next to it, its really easy to understand

  8. hey everyone, i am about to send the k-1 petition, but i have a question about translations.

we have phone bills from my dutch fiancée judith, where it states that she calls me. obviously its in dutch, but there are just some words like date time durations of call etc, so i just wrote those words next to the dutch words. we have the same with some of her bank transactions and some dutch receipts of hotels, train tickets, restaurants etc. is it really neccesary then to certify the translations? (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=translations). there are just some words and it is very easy to understand.

and how did you guys sort the pictures? i put 10 photos in a little plastic picture folder with the dates and location on the back of the folder..is that okay?

    thanks guys

  9. Hey everyone,

I have some more questions about the G325a form. My father died so I wonder what I need to fill in at "city and country of residence', do I write deceased, n/a or maybe the last adress he lived?

Furthermore, we are a bit confused about the "last occupation abroad". I have never had an occupation abroad so I can fill in None, but my Dutch fiancee has a current job in the Netherlands but also worked abroad in Indonesia. Do we write the last adress she worked in the Netherlands or do we write it for Indonesia?

Thanks again for all your help,

    - Jake

  10. Hi Jake, welcome to VJ!

I see your fiance is from the Netherlands.....so is my husband! I think that you could just put the Country club job once and then list the other jobs under that. I'm sure they have had people before who work two jobs and will understand that. As for the extra sheet, it sounds like you have it set up very nicely....I would say it should work the way you explained it.

If you have any more questions, please ask...and if you would like to join us there is a Dutch/American couples thread down in Regional Forums!

ETA: here is a link to that thread if your interested!

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...&start=1260

Thank you! And thanks for the link to the forum, we will definately join that. I am actually in the Netherlands right now.

I would list the country club job only once too, put it where you think it makes more logical sense.

When I was a student and unemployed, I simply listed 'Unemployed.'

I definitely don't think the job description explanation is necessary, because I think your situation is straightforward.

And yes, I had an attachment too and I wrote "G-325A Supplement" in the top, recreated the tables on the original form, and then I signed/dated it after I printed it out.

    Good luck!

Good to know, thank you very much!

  11. My fiance and I are filling out the G 325a. We have some questions about the past employment and adresses questions.

I have had the same employment since the summer of 2008, as bar manager of a country club which is closed in the winter for obvious reasons. At which time i find another job for the winter months. how would i state this on the form?

In example would i state it like this:

Country Club job : april 08-present

    Other job A : sept 09-present

    Job: B : sept 08- sept 09

    Country club job : april 08 - present ?????

    Job: C : sept 07 - april 08

Do I put the Country Club job only at the top one or also again down in the list?

In the past 5 years I have also been a full time student and therefore did not have a job. Do I put it down as 'Unemployed' or 'Unemployed/Student' or 'Unemployed' specify: 'Student'?

I decided to put the sheet as an attachment as not everything fits, so should I otherwise write a brief explanation (2-3 sentences) about my job situation or is this not appreciated?

Furthermore, on the attached sheet I typed: ATTACHMENT QUESTION: APPLICANT'S RESIDENCE LAST FIVE YEARS. Then I made a table where all the adresses fit (+ a possible explanation of 2-3 sentences) and under that I wrote a line with my full name, a signature line and the date.

What do you guys think? Thanks for all your help.

  12. hi everyone, im currently filling out form G 325 A, Biographic information.

it says "applicant's residence last five years. list present address first"

since 1997, i have lived in the same house in the Netherlands. However, in between I lived abroad in the U.S (to work) & Indonesia (to work).

so i listed it as followed

adress in the netherlands from november 97 - present time

adress in indonesia from feb 09 - june 09

adress in usa from aug 08 - dec 08

adress in usa from aug 05 - june 06

does this look confusing now? or do i need to put my netherlands home adress in between the other places i lived?

also, the question 'applicants last adress outside the United States of more than 1 year", do i write my Netherlands adress there again? (even though only in the summer of 2010 id have lived at my Netherlands adress again for more than 1 year? )

    thanks for your help.

  13. my fiance (u.s citizen) has a domestic disorderly conduct and 3 underage drinking tickets.

can anybody tell us what to do with part C at I 129 F? does anybody else have any experiences with this? and do you think we need an immigration lawyer?

    help is greatly appreciated.

  14. dear all,

my fiance and i are preparing our I 129 F package but we are having some trouble with part C on the I 129 F, petition for alien fiancé(e). my fiance (the u.s citizen) was once convicted for a minor, non violent incident that resulted in a domestic disorderly conduct, which was amdended down to an ordinance. however, when we look up the court case online, the case is still mentioned as criminal.

the instructions of the I 129 F state that the "term "domestic violence" includes felony or misdemeanor crimes of violence committed by a current or former spouse of the victim, by a person with whom the victim shares a child in common, by a person who is cohabitating with or has cohabitated with the victim as a spouse, by a person similarly situated to a spouse of the victim under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction receiving grant monies, or by any other person against an adult or youth victim who is protected from that person's acts under the domestic or family violence laws of the jurisdiction".

personally, i do not think we need to add it as it is amended down to an ordinance, but we still worry about it. we already called several institutions and also USCIS itself, who is not able to give legal advice on this.

do you think we need to add this case to the part C section on I 129 F? please help! we would really appreciate your answer.

  15. I’m sorry for the long post, but Id greatly appreciate it if you want to read this and help me!

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Judith, I am Dutch and new to this forum. I have a complicated situation, so I hope you can help me out. I have an American fiancé, I met him in 2005, when I was an exchange student at a high school. We were both 17 at that time and I stayed there for a year on a J1 Student Visa. After I left to go back to The Netherlands again, we still dated and I came back in December 2006 for 2 weeks on a tourist visa. After that time, we were both busy with college and work, and unfortunately did not have the time and money to visit each other soon again. Luckily, we saw each other again after that long period of time, in July 2008, when I came to the U.S, again on a J1 student visa as I was going to complete a semester abroad at a University in Arizona. So before I started my semester there in August, I first went to visit my fiancé in July (at that time still boyfriend) for about 3 weeks. I studied in Arizona from August 2008 till December 2008 and in between I also traveled again to visit my fiancé during my thanksgiving break. In December 2008, I went back to the Netherlands and then went to Asia to do my internship for 5 months. I came back to the Netherlands in June 2009 and luckily the next month, I had a long summer holiday so I could visit my fiancé for 8 weeks. So during this last summer we got engaged  . Now I am back in the Netherlands, in my senior year of college and figuring out the best ways for us to be together. I am planning to graduate in June 2010 or September 2010. We were thinking about the K1 procedure or the K3 procedure, but do not know what would be the best to do and therefore we would like your advice.

There are some factors that influence the choice of choosing for the K1 or K3 in our case:

Unfortunately, I recently found out that I with my previous J1 visa, on which I came to Arizona, I have a Two-Year Foreign Residence Requirement. I am actually surprised about this, as I financed everything by myself. My J1 Visa ended in December 2008, so this would mean that I could not come back to the U.S on certain non-immigrant and immigrant visas till December 2010. I read that you could apply for a waiver, but how does that exactly go when I am in the Netherlands? Because so far, I only read stories about people who want a waiver for the 2 year rule and for example obtained a no objection letter, when they were already in the U.S.

In February till April, I do not have school and start again in April for my last 2 months. So I have 3 months off and wanted to visit my fiancé then. I wonder if this would be a good idea if we would have started the K1 procedure, even if it is not illegal to do so. If we want to start the K1 process, we would want to file in December 2009, as it could still take up a long while and as I graduate in June or September 2010, we think it would be the best to start in December. I read that you could visit your fiancé, while your K1 case is pending, but it will not guarantee you entry and may be risky at times. I wonder if it may be too risky, also because it is not a 1 or 2 week visit, but for 3 months. I want to do everything legally and have no intentions of staying. I have proof that I have ties to the Netherlands, I can for example show a return ticket and that I need to come back in order to graduate from college but have currently no job in the Netherlands as I am busy with school, I also wouldn’t have proof of a lease or anything, as I live with my parents now. Other than that, I have visited the U.S by then, 2 times on a J1 visa and 2 times on a tourist visa, one time for 2 weeks, the other time for 8 weeks. The first time on my J1 visa was in august 2005 for 11 months, so till June 2006. The second time 6 months when I went to Arizona, from July 2008 till December 2008. What would you advice me; do you think it is too risky to come visit my fiancé in the U.S for 3 months (max. of tourist visa), while our K1 case would be pending under my circumstances?

Otherwise, I thought of going to the U.S in February for 3 months on a tourist visa, marry my fiancé and start the k3 procedure and go back to the Netherlands and wait till I can come back. However, I read that the K3 procedure usually takes longer. Even though it would be worth the wait and time, we still hope we can be together as soon as possible after a long distance relationship of almost 5 years by then.

So what do you think what would be the best we can do?

    • Start k1 around December and go the U.S for a 3 month visit under my circumstances and take the risk

    • Start k1, do not take the risk and wait till I can come but not being able to see my fiancé for a long while

    • Go to the U.S in February on a tourist visa for 3 months, marry my fiancé and come back to the Netherlands, with the chance of a longer wait

    • And last, what should I do about the J1 2 year home residency rule? I think if we start the k3 process around march, it stay may take a while. I think there would also be a chance that I would get the K3 visa, only after December 2010 (when my J1 2 year rule ends). So if we choose for the K3, maybe the waiver would not even be necessary, as it still cost 215 dollars and may be a waste of money then.

I really do not know what would be best to do and therefore I am hoping you can help and advice us, me and my fiancé greatly appreciate it. Again, sorry for the long post. I’m looking forward to everyone’s reply.
