  1. I must vent, otherwise I may go insane sitting in my little cubicle waiting for the phone to ring.

My fiance has a flight from Buffalo leaving in 2 hours to come and visit for 5 days. I'm completely paranoid that he won't be able to cross at the boarder. He called a little over an hour ago and said he was half way there (from Toronto). I should be getting the "I made it" or "I didn't make it" call any minute. I'm so sick with worry that I feel I might regurgitate my lunch!

Why, after we take the time, spend the money, endure the heartache, would ANYONE dare question our intent to immigrate legally? Damn bureaucracy!

  2. So I can't help by feel that since RXIST03 got some action and their noa1 is near mine - that maybe they are working on that batch around that date ...and maybe we have the same adjudicator?!?

    I'm so anxious.

Can I just tell you all how much I miss him. He officially thinks i'm crazy today. That's why we are meant to be...I'm the nervous wreck in the relationship and he is the calm and rational one! opposites attract! :)

So excited about some of the peopel in this group nearing their interview dates!!!! Can't wait to hear about alll those!!!!! And everyone must report back as to how they all go! Or else!

Or else you will be doomed to hearing me whine and complain every day that passes without my noa2!!! So I think we would all love to hear about how everyone else is progressing :) :)

    Goodluck!!!

If Adam wasn't sure about my crazy-meter, I'm sure he knows now :P Just today I was getting a bit anxious because he hasn't received P3 yet. He told me I should find a yoga class for the calming/relaxation techniques. I asked him when he thought I'd have time to fit yoga into my day. He sent me a link to a website with "office yoga" instructions and videos :) That got me to laugh, which helped for the moment.

    Good luck to all!

  3. Ok, so I'm still slightly confused. I was just looking at Packet 3 that Danu posted for a K1 and it looks like it labels Proof of Domicile as a needed item with a description of documents needed to satisfy the request. Why would this even be on the paperwork if it's not required and how would a person not part of VJ know it's not required? Am I missing instructions somewhere? I'm overly paranoid, I know...sorry in advance :)

it asks for evidence of domicile which can be as easy as paystubs, a copy of the lease, copy of drivers license, etc. They are a little less strict on evidence of domicile than proof of domicile, and most of the documents for the I-134 would also satisfy the evidence portion.

Ahhh...I see now, thank you. I was thinking that these things would be incuded in the I-134 and couldn't understand the duplication. Thanks for clarifying.

Thank you SO much for the update, it's nice to see where everyone's at. I managed to get the swine flu so I've not been too active here and will not be on much the next 2-3 days either I think. I'm kinda frustrated with myself because I needed to go out and get a document for the embassy, instead I'm stuck here. A prisoner in my own home.. delays are bad enough, but even worse when the ball's in my court. Anyway, I hope hope hope for more NOA2s! Take care everyone and know I'm thinking of you guys, swine flu or not

I agree. The update on everyone's status is very nice to see. Congratulations to all who have interviews and hang in there for everyone else. We'll get there...maybe not as soon as we'd like, but it will be worth it.

Kristin, I sure hope you get feeling better! That has to be a pretty crappy illness. Lots of rest and fluids ;)

  6. Yay for your NOA2!!! More to come I'm sure :)

M and F, what are you referring to as "our story" and "letter of intent"? I ask this because I think I may have done the same thing, but I did still receive my NOA2 without RFE. We answered the "how did you meet" question in great detail but that was it. I didn't hire an attorney and only found this site a little while ago. I'm glad I know more now, but I followed the filing instructions for the I129f and all went ok...so far. I really have my fingers crossed for you!

  7. Guys been reading about so many denials at the indian embassy. It's really scaring me now. I know ours is at the Bombay Embassy, but from what I reading they seem to be pretty harsh. I don't know what I would do if I get a denial. I was so confident before and this post really scared me.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...224586&st=0

    Check it out!

You've already jumped through a million hoops. If they deny then you fight fight fight some more. Everything will be ok.

Thanks Jewel :)(F) . The status of my case is that things are moving so quickly now. My fiance is suppossed to get his interview date this week, but after reading that post not feeling so confident about it now. Yeah, I know I could fight it and just get married, but we did the K-1 fiance as it is much more faster. To imagine after all this to wait some more is going to be excruciating. Maybe I will just move to India. I know I should be thinking positive, but after reading denials you can not help it.

All will be ok Star! Try not to stress yourself to much. Every case is different, and every consular that interviews you is different. The moving over part is mine and Damos backup plan. If for some strange reason we got denied I was going to move over and marry him and just file a k3 will over in australia and wait it out there. No more being seperated if this didnt work. But it will!

Ditto on the back-up plan...though I hope none of us have to resort. So I finally made it to the consulate! And they may be getting ready to process interviews again. Hopefully it's not the 6 month wait I was anticipating. I'll feel so much better when Adam receives Packet 3.

Still want to give a big "hang in there" to all still waiting for the d@mn NOA2. Keep on your patience and positive thinking. I know it's easier said than done, but I hate the thought of anyone distrought in the process, especially since we aren't out of the woods just yet. I find myself stressing more right now than I did with USCIS. Maybe because I think so much more can go wrong :( Positive attitude!

  8. Aw man.

The Toronto medical office is closed already, I dont want to leave a message.

I'll call tomorrow to see what date they give me and if I dont like it, I'll try Montreal :/

I haven't read all the posts, so I'm not sure if anyone commented on this or not...

I called Toronto medical a few weeks ago just to get a sense for how far out they were booking (we're trying to plan a formal ceremony as well). I also got their message system and left a vm. Someone from their office called me back within a few hours. I got the impression that was the only way to get in touch with them. Just thought I'd share :)

Congratulations to everyone who has an interview date, and good luck to those still waiting. I'll be waiting here soon hopefully :)

  9. We contacted my fiancees congresswomen last week and we spoke with a family friend who works at the mexican consulate in LA that knows someone at the DOS, so that may have help us. I dunno. Hopefully the mail comes soon!

Congrats on the interview! If you don't mind me asking, what information did you give in your letter and did you mail or email?

  10. ...Can you all hear the chorus of krickets from CSC?

I sure can ... I didnt even get my daily touch today ... I'm kinda missin it -- some action is better than no action ;)

    :innocent::innocent::innocent:

    They went on vacation!

You did not get your daily touch thats a good sign I bet you get your NOA2 Soon

Just think I got mine and they still haven't updated that website yet, nor did I ever get an e-mail or text message

Yours is coming!! ItS Coming and when it does we can all celebrate!

I lOVE reasons to celebrate! :star: There aren't nearly enough in this process. I will surely have a drink in your honor ;)

  11. 11 approvals today at VSC ....that just drives me crazy. (And spare me the discussion of how it alternates every year... ;) ) It still drives me crazy ...when I feel like CSC is moving slower than a snails pace ...and we are jumping for joy when we see one approval a day. UGH.

Malarie....Any updates??? You have been pretty quiet. Hope all is well.

M, I'm so sorry you're so frustrated :( I don't have any comforting words for you, or Malarie, or anyone else still waiting. I can say...like I said before...I've read some pretty horrible things about the Montreal consulte (how they're 6+ months out for an interview), and once you have your NOA2, I'm sure you'll sail through...at least I hope :) Then it will be me who needs the support of this group when you're loved ones have come home and I'm still waiting for an interview. This process doesn't ever seem to let up on the nerves and stress. Just don't get too down!

  12. What do you guys think about writing letters to newspapers or radio shows? Seeing if anyone will pick up on the story? I might try that, but not sure it will do any good... But you never know who's reading or listening

I don't think it could hurt. Let us now who everyone is writing and when my time comes, I'm in!

  13. I wonder if my fiance's congressman/senetor is useful at all.

If I dont hear anything by the exact 3 month mark on the day my case was logged, they're getting a nice nasty call from him.

Or whatever he can do, I'll make him go in person if I have to.

*sigh* I wonder if I should tell him to come visit me again, since we probably wont be seeing eachother for a while.

I've been wondering about that too Rhiann... if interviews for us are starting to look like they won't be until Feb/March, then there's no f'ing way I'm waiting that long to see my fiancé. This is STUPID.

I can't write that letter tonight, because I'm too upset about that and some other things going on right now. I was wondering though if anyone would be willing to post their letters? We can feed off each other's ideas maybe. I dunno...

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to start my letter without sounding like a jerk

I found where someone faxed their "Approval Notice" and a cover letter to Montreal. The cover letter reads:

    Today's Date

    *Petitioner's Name and Address here*

    US CONSULATE GENERAL-MONTREAL

    FAX: 514-398-9748

    PO Box 65

    Station Desjardins

    Montreal, Quebec

    Canada

    H5B-1G1

    SUBJECT:

    K-1 VISA/I-129f

    Name (PETITIONER)

    Name (BENEFICIARY)

    ENCLOSED:

    I-129f Notice of Approval

    (Receipt num: WAC-xxxxxxxxx)

On Month Day, Year the CSC approved our I-129f petition. As of Today's Date, Name (my fiancée) has not yet received an interview date from the Montreal Consulate.

Fiancé’s Name and mailing address is:

*(my full address and phone number here)*

Our I-129f expires Month Day, Year. We would very much appreciate if you would schedule an interview for Name as quickly as possible to give him/her sufficient time to make necessary arrangements for the interview before the I-129f expiry date.

    Sincerely,

    Signature

Hopefully some of this helps at least a little. I know I'll be writing as soon as it's with Montreal!

  14. I know I'm just spinning my wheels by even mentioning this, but how come there is an expiration date of 4 months from NOA2 if it's just disregarded? Isn't there any way to hold them more accountable? I know I fully intend to write the consular general once I begin the horrendous wait. I know it's probably too early to become so frustrated, but after seeing all your timelines, I'm outraged! I can't imagine everything on hold for so much more unnecessary time. We all have lives to begin/continue! Ok, I'm done now. Thanks for letting me rant a moment.

  15. 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0. There's no "Average" hold time, it does tell you after you push 0 tho.

That number is only to find out if you have an interview yet tho. You haven't gotten your packet 3, so it might be a month until you start calling.

    "

No problem. Thanks for the info. I'm just trying to get prepared for my time in "the queue".

  16. I'm starting this day off sending massive loads of positivity to CSC ...... Anyone want to join?

    :bonk: :bonk: :bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk:

    Malarie

    Me! I want my NOA2!

 Me Too!! Come one CSC Let this be the week!!!

Good Tuesday everyone! First, I'm putting all my positive thoughts with CSC for all those still waiting for NOA2s...this will be the week we all finish up :)

So I left town Friday afternoon to drive to San Francisco for pre-wedding meetings with possible vendors. I know I should've been ecstatic, but I was pretty down. It seemed silly to be doing these things so early in the process...especially since the consulate is passing the 4 month expiration date for interviews by 2 months, making a total of six months before an interview. I checked my phone at the halfway point and noticed a missed text message. It was USCIS! All it said was that my status has been updated. I went to my email and saw USCIS said we had been approved! WooHoo! I called Adam and gave him the good news. He thought I was lying, trying to tease him ;) I had to hang up with him, send him the email and then call him back. When he answered the phone, he immediately said "Ok, I believe you now" :) Because I was running around for the two days and driving the other two, all I had time to do was update my timeline. But I really wanted to take some time this morning and recognize the rest of July waiting for NOA2s and say hang in there!

  17. *insert my nervous laughter here*. I told Damo, that he save the day! lol.

That was such a nerve racking conversation.. but its all fixed now. :ranting:

OMG that is awesome!!! Note to self, make sure they are sending to correct consulate :D I wish that the UK embassy in Edinburgh was doing this app. Instead he has to go about 400 miles to London for it.

I guess 400 miles is a BIG deal when it's not US miles???

Yeah, I wish the embassy in Melbourne did them, but we have to fly to Sydney for our interview. So I get to spend 20 hours on a plane, rest for 2 days then fly to Sydney, do interview, fly back to Melbourne. rest for about a week, then its another 20 hour flight home. ugh. Always messes me up, takes me two days to get there, I usually leave on wednesday to get there on friday, then fly home on Sunday, flights usually leave Melbourne at 10:30 am and land in LA at like 9:15 am on the same day. Talk about jet lag, and they say time travel isnt possible lol.

When I took my first trip to see Damo, we went on a mini vacation down to see the 12 apostles. He told me how far it was and I was like, omg that is going to take us forever to drive there. lol, I wasnt thinking in Kilometers i was thinking in miles. Its like 1.6 kilometers to 1 mile. Then last night he started complaining on how he is going to have to learn the inches and miles conversion. How its not accurate that its just stupid, always something. haha.

Haha! I hear you on converting from metric to imperial systems :) Adam is constantly giving me a hard time about how silly our system of measurement is and how metric "just makes sense" :P It took me a little while in the beginning to talk about weather on a celsius level. He'd say it's 23 degrees and I'd be thinking "BRRRR!!!", when really that's 73 degrees which is quite pleasant :)

  18. Awesome Star! Hopefully I'll get mine tomorrow!

Anyone know how to get the call history on skype? I would like to show at the interview how much we call each other but dont know how to get it downloaded,

I got mine by clicking view and then history. I copied and pasted into Word and printed from there. I'm not sure if there's a more "official" looking way to do it, but it's one way. Hope that helped at least a little.

  19. Congrats! Its only Wednesday so I think we'll see alot more by Friday.

Has anyone tried calling NVC yet to see if they have your case? I made my first call today and they don't have it. Avg time from what I gather looking at timelines is about 2-3 days after the NOA2. So they should have Friday's approvals today or tomorrow. I'll try again tomorrow, hope it doesn't sit there for a month as I've seen happen to some people.

We have not tried calling yet but Wade told me he'd call them up sometime today and if we don't hear anything then, we'll just keep calling them until it shows up. Like you I don't want it to be caught up in the middle of the NVC process.

I just got home from my medical and it's approved! My vaccination program here in Norway was also sufficient so no need for extra shots. I'm happy :D Now all we need is to see more approvals at CSC and it would be a truly awesome wednesday!

Congrats on your medical Kristin!!! I'm glad it went well :)

  20. I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could briefly tell me about how long after you submit your packet 3 is your interview scheduled. I'm a K1 still waiting for NOA2, but looking for a heads up.

    Thanks!

Really depends how how backlogged they are... worst case 4 months, best case 3 months, although some people have been scheduled within 6-8 weeks, but that's not really happening at the moment. With Montreal its always best to plan for the worst case scenario to be on the safe side.

    Thank you Sapphire!

To be safe, i'd put your 'worst' case at 4.5 - 5 months. It'd probably be better to be earlier rather than later than your expectations

That sounds horrible :( But you're right, better to be on the safe side. So after 4 months an extension would need to be filed right? Is it automatic that the consulate does it? Or would I need to? Thanks for your help!
