So mother is here in the US to help us take care of baby, I will be USC in a few days after oath. Now how do I get mother a green card so that she can stay beyond the 6-month she was granted when entering the US as a vistor? I see that I need to submit I-130, I485, I-765 and I-131, what else is needed? Can I send this altogether?

New oath day, 1/2/2014, also my first day in the new job, so we are starting the new year on a very high note.

Just wanted to update that as of today, we have not hear anything about our request to re-schedule the oath date. We have sent certified letter to the Washington field office and have the proof that the letter was delivered. We requested a December date but obviously, if the re-scheduled oath date is 12/5 or 12/19, we should have heard about it by now. We are looking at 1/2 or 1/16 as the next possible days, as the court conduct oath on the first and third Thursday.

Well she passed the test, it was a piece of cake, now the waiting game starts. With a name change, she needs to go through the Alexandria, VA court. A quick Google search yielded this:

Still waiting nothing has changed on the website still says I am up for interview in Aug which I passed but no sign of an update that I was approved & no sign of an Oath Ceremony, how long should I wait?

We are in Alexandria, VA and she passed the test on 9/18. I was trying to predict when she will have her oath ceremony here, because a name change is involved, so I guess that would take longer.

If you can, Metro is the best, again it is a short (less than 5-minute walk).

The Washington Field Office rarely conducts same-day naturalization ceremonies but will do so for military N-400 filings, Section 319(b) N-400 filings, as well as on most N-400 re-examination days (second interview to pass the naturalization test).

You have been invaluable since our K-1 process, and she is having the interview in a month to become a USC, thank you for all of your help along the journey!

Question, USC’s parents are visiting the US on a visitor’s visa (one-year validation, 6 months duration). If USC files for green cards for parents, and do the parents need to go back to home country, have the interview there, flight back to US after getting the visa?

Or it is possible (legally) for the parents to stay here for the duration of the petition? If so, what they the petition process is longer than 6 months? Do the parents need to leave the US and come back in a day or two?

I have heard two cases of friends and families did this, not sure they are just blowing smoke or for real.

We did, based on 3 year marriage as a K1 visa. Sent, 3 years taxes, previous divorce docs, copy of green card and us citizen passport copy, couple of passport style photos of applicant along with N-400 and $680. This info is available in the guides here on VJ.

In additional, we sent record of us owning real estates together, joint bank account statements and baby's birth certificate.

They took my money!!! Never been so happy when someone took my money, but this time, it is!
