  1. Working without authorisation will NOT be used against you. All is forgiven with adjustment of status. I know this first hand, I was here 12 years before my status was adjusted. You are getting yourself worked up for no reason. If the application asked if you have ever been arrested, state what happened... bring your notice from the sheriffs office... YOU WILL BE FINE. Before you know it, it will be over and you will be consoling someone with a similar situation.

  2. Received Hubby's Green Card TODAY! The envelope is dated 12/31.

Now for some SCARY news.... The envelope was never sealed! I have a perfect, never licked, never moistened, not ripped envelope with flap completely intact just flapping away with my other mail. Not even tucked into the envelope! Wide open!

We are so lucky that no one took the card out or even worse fallen out of it's envelope in route to us. I guess they were trying to get them out so fast by the end of the year that they didn't bother to seal it??? Hopefully, ours was just a fluke and missed the sealing process in the machine or by hand?

I'm just happy to report that it has ARRIVED. ( and I got to see hubby's card before him, LOL )

Oh wait - One more funny thing to say - When we received our first Notice that the Green Card was approved and being mailed out - that letter was sent to our OLD address - which was ok because it's my parents address. So, I've warned my parents to keep an eye out for his Green Card.

Well, the Green Card arrived today at our NEW address (been living here for almost 2 years) LOL

I have no clue what they are doing in Vermont - just makes me laugh.

Hope everyone gets their card soon.

    Happy New Year to all!

Congrats to your hubby... That was weird that his envelope was not sealed, but thankfully the card was still in tact. Yes, pretty soon in just a few short months we will be able to file for citizenship... well in June for me... I just filed for my ROC late...

  3. I got my approval letter in the mail today.... YEAH YEAH YEAH... I am finally on the list of approved.. OMG!!! So please add my Approval Date 12/21/09. Up until Thursday my status was not updated online or did not receive a text message.

I got a text this morning at 6:15a saying my status has been updated. When I checked online it say card production ordered 12/29, and I also got an email. 8 days after my application was approved.... I am not complaining though... I am happy

  4. Thank you Ambientgirl for your kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it... it kinda calm my nerves

I will continue to check my mail diligently, and hopefully I will be on the approved list soon.

You're welcome. :) Just think, it's almost over. Look at how far you have come over the past few years. It is amazing at how all this paperwork and waiting can get the best of you at times but once its done you kinda laugh about your craziness and prepare yourself for the next step.

Not sure if you will be going for citizenship next, which I think we will be able to apply for come this Summer. Which means that a year from now we will probably be waiting for an interview date and/or an oath ceremony date or even be completely done with this whole immigration fun. Yay! Then we can breathe a big sigh of relief that its official over and done with. My hubby was already reading about the citizenship test and taking the practice test online last night. lol

Looking forward to seeing your approval date updated on the site.

Come on VSC - let's make this a wonderful holiday season for everyone and get those approvals out asap. :D

I know I am almost there... I am a worrier by nature... I will be filing for my citizenship, but I have a small hitch, that would make me reconsider doing it next year. I was married before, my ex-husband is an IA and a question on the citizenship application ask about your exhusband/s and their status, be it USC, LPR or OTHER.. and if OTHER explain. I really dont want to put him under the bus as I have a child for him, and he is diligent in picking him up and paying child support. I am really torn with this decision as I dont want because of him I cant be a USC... I gave him a heads up about this, and told him he has a few months to get his act together.

  5. I gave USCIS a call today to check on the status of removing my conditions. I was told by the Customer Service Rep that they are now processing July 22 application... Go figure! Mine was sent mid-August.... I will give my mailbox and USCIS website a break for a week or two :-), yea right! Thats NOT going to happen... I am still trying to be hopeful even though every evening I have been disappointed. WHY ME???

They (VSC) are currently processing application from August!!!

I realise that... per this forum.... But I was merely stating what was told to me.

  7. Sorry! I guess I wasnt clear... I am stressing over the fact that I applied to have my conditions removed in August, did the biometrics and have not been touched since September 17.... MY STRESS IS I want my CONDITIONS TO BE REMOVED without any RFE, and then... once that is over.... I WILL STRESS again next year June for my citizenship. One of my stress about that is, it asks if you have been married before and the legal status of your exhusband, mine was and is still is... here after his visa expired. I dont want to throw him under the bus, as I dont know if I will be asked about it at the interview, so am thinking of giving him some time to sort himself out. He is my child's father!
