You can have the engagement party as it is normal for this to be done. We did just this, my wife was asked at her interview if we had an engagement party that family attended. She showed pictures and all was good. If you research on VJ you will find many who had an engagement party in the Philippines and had no issue during the interview. It is just more proof to be shown at the interview.

To our amazement we received the below statement from USCIS in email today, we then logged onto USCIS website to see if email was true, it was! We are so relieved for this part of the process to be completed. Good luck to all.

I believe her Aunt is correct this time, when purchasing the ticket from outside the Philippines for someone departing (Filipino) the airline usually requires a copy of the credit card and ID of the person who purchased the ticket to be presented at check in if they ask for it. They will not keep the copies it is just for verification .

I purchased my wife's ticket from Continental in 2010, I sent my wife a scanned copy of my ID and credit card, I do not remember if she was asked for proof of purchase but I do know it is a requirement.

Im in the process of ROC right now. I wanted to go back to school this coming spring. I am wondering if I am eligible for Financial Aid or student loan? Is it goin to hurt my case if i get approved for financial aid?

You will have no problems, My wife is in the ROC process and has been a full time student using student loans from the Government. This has nothing to do with the ROC process.

My fiance is a filipina but worked in Taipei for a year. We understand that when she goes for her embassy interview she will need a police certificate from Taipei. She now lives in the phillipines. Do I need to have her fly to Taipei to get the cert., or is there another way to get it. before her interview (apx. 2 mos. from now)

If they have Emabssy in the Philippines she should be able to apply for it there once you receive the NOA2. My wife worked in Japan and I knew she would need the police clearance. I happened to be in the Philippines when we received the NOA2. This allowed us inside the U.S Embassy to request they write letter for receiving the Japan Police Clearance( we 1st tried the Japan Embassy to request this, we were told they must receive letter of request from the U.S Embassy first). They wrote the request letter for Japan Police Clearance .We then went back to the Japanese Embassy with the U.S Embassy police clearance request letter, my wife gave this to them, we then had to go have her finger prints taken, then back to Japan Embassy with her finger print card, they took the info and sent all to Japan for process, stated it would take 30 to 45 days to be ready, they called my wife 40 days later for pickup of police clearance.

This gives you an idea of how to obtain what you are asking for.. Hope this helps.

lease for 2010

I think that's all.

Look at what I sent at first and tell me if an RFE is possible and why? if an RFE is possible, are the papers I gathered last night good enough?

Honestly, the evidence you originally sent was good, you just needed to show more of a history, when sending just 2 current months of documents it appears as though you were not co-mingling assets and just trying to show recent proof, I know this is not your case but your having to prove this to someone who does not know you or your situation., which is what they are looking for over a period of time. Do you have insurance E.O.B'S or Doctors bills addressed to you and your wife showing same address. Send all that you have of these.

This is what I sent for ROC evidence, go back into the Oct 2012 Filers of the ROC and you can see what others have sent. Maybe this will help you to locate more evidence.

I have a question I did send only the past 2 months of the bank statments. i didn't know that they want 2 years. i don't have 2 years bank statements, what should I do in case they tell me to send them 2 years bank statments?

The reason why most of us have sent 2 yrs of evidence is that we are trying to show a legit marriage and residing at the same address which spans the length from getting married to ROC. I see that your situation is different and you were not able to produce this type of evidence dating back 2 yrs. What you need to show is the validity of your marriage dating back to evidence that you did not submit. For start, write a letter explaining how long your spouse has resided with you thus the lack of evidence.

All the utilities, cable, phone bills are in my name only also, I could not add my wife to the account but what I was allowed to do is place her on the billing address thus addressed to both of us at our residence, The water company would not allow it but did write a letter stating that my wife is authorized to speak and make changes to our bills. I am not saying we will not have any RFE'S but tried very hard to cover all areas.

Send in what bank statements you do have dating as far back as possible. you have good evidence so don't be discouraged, try to find more lengthy evidence that was not submitted that you can use.Remember, you are establishing a pattern of time showing you both being married and residing at the same residence.

Ok, so we got the dreaded 3 page RFE. "The review of the evidence submitted does not establish the marriage is in GOOD FAITH'. What???

Copies of registrations and titles of 3 cars in both of our names

I understand why they want to make sure it's not fraud, but I don't know what else I can send to help. The house is in my name and I looked into getting him on the mortgage and was told the only way I could was to get it refinanced and that isn't happening any time soon.

Also there is a suggestion of making him an emergency contact or legal guardian of my 15 year old son. Well as far as being an emergency contact at the doctor's office he is, and I can get a letter from them for that but my son is homeschooled so can't do much on that part. We can apply for legal guardianship but that deals with family law and truthfully, my son will be 16 next month and to me it's a waste of money for only 2 years. Now if he was younger, that would be no problem.

Please if anyone can give me some good ideas in what else to include please let me know.

Also in bolded lettering it states from date of marriage until present. Ok, we were married 06/07/09 and he didn't arrive until 04/18/10 so that is 10 months where he wasn't on checking account, or any evidence. I can show that I had the account before he got here though.

Your evidence appears to be solid, unsure why they gave you an RFE. Try sending the complete bank statements instead of 1st page. I submitted all pages every 4th quarter for 2 yrs. Guess we will see if they liked that or not. Can you send past and present auto insurance policies showing both of you on the insurance, my wife is not on my house loan but I do have her listed on the house insurance declarations which i provided the last 2 yrs of proof. Do you have any utilities, cable,phone or cell phone bills being addressed to both of you at the same address? Just slow down and look at what you did not send in, things I just spoke of, if you have more proof send it. Good Luck!!

We opened checking and savings account without Social Security number for my wife at Chase Bank, no issue no problem! Once she received her Social Security number we informed the bank to add the information. Most of the bigger international banks stateside will allow this.

I am positive on TB skin test. The doctor told me that I have to undergo a medication for 6 months to prevent my tb infection to become active. But I took my medication for 2 months only and stop taking the medicines. My questions are: Since I stop my medication, does it mean that my skin test tb positive is already worse? Does my TB infection will become an active TB already? And should I go back to the doctor to ask another medication again? And should I tell the doctors in Manila that I had been positive to tb skin test and I had been treated. Should I bring the copies of the medical records about positive skin test as proof that I am already treated? Or should I just not say anything at all because I heard from others that there no problem having positive in skin test as long as my x-ray is ok?

I find it hard to believe that the Dr. confirmed you were TB positive (whether active or inactive TB with just using the skin test and then placed you on meds, it is common knowledge that the skin test will show positive result for the vaccination you took as a child cause this to be. Did the Doctor take chest x-ray or give you the sputum test for confirmation. Yes, you can tell St. Lukes about the skin test and give them the medical findings if you want, they will not recognize the doctors findings nor the treament course even if you had completed it. They will issue you TB Skin test regardless of previous ones as it is required by the U.S Embassy, you may fail it, they will then do chest x-ray and the 3 day sputum test, if nothing shows then you have a 2 or 3 month wait to see if positive TB culture grows, if it does then you will have to undergo 6 month of medication to be given to you daily at St. Lukes which requires you moving to Manila during this time.

If you pass the sputum test at St Lukes this means you do not have active TB, if it is inactive TB they will still allow you to pass as you are not contagious, once stateside you may or may not be referred to the health unit for further testing and possibly be placed on meds for 6 months to insure that it not become active TB.

My wife had the same problem, failed the TB skin test, took chest x-ray showed small scarring, she then did the 3 day sputum test, 1st and 2nd day sputum sample was good, the 3rd day it was sent for culture. She called St. Lukes at the end of culture on date told to do so and was informed it was negative and to come back in 2 days for completion of shots and physical and then to U.S Embassy K1 Visa interview.

Start with the date that you were added to the utilities addressed to both of you at sane address or each own and with same address, For us, I started in June 2010 with 1 printed for each quarter until Sept 2012. I

Go back on previous post that myself and others posted in "I-751 October 2012 Filers" concerning the evidence we sent for ROC. This will give you great examples of what they will be looking for. Also, Visa Journey has examples of evidence in the downloads section which basically mirrors what I sent. It is best to show evidence from at least 2 years than just one month when it comes to the utility bills,phone or cable bills.

Background: Here is the letter that I included with the I129F for Part B, Question 18: "Has your fiancée met and seen you in within the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of this petition."

To Whom It May Concern:

Michelle and I met in person in Manila. I arrived on May 23 and returned to San Francisco on June 6, 2012. During our time together I stayed at her house in Las Piñas, Manila. Our time was spent in and around Manila. I met Michelle's family, most of whom flew in from Butuan City for the duration of my stay.

Attached is documentation that confirms that I, Jeffrey X. XXXXX, met and saw my fiancée, Michelle X. XXXXX, within the 2-year period preceding the filing of my I-129F petition.

So, my question is, what else can I do to prove that I spent 2 weeks with Michelle? Are they looking for a longer narrative about our love story? More pictures?

Explain how you met your Fiancee( example) Dating site, at the mall, Through a friend or family member, This is what the RFE want/need to know. Then proceed to talk about your trip to see her, the things you did together, how inseparable the 2 of you were, how happy to be with each other, the feeling of separation each had when leaving for home and her reaction to when you asked her to marry you.. They want to see a pattern from the beginning to when you asked her to marry you. When sending pictures show some of holding hands, hugging or small kiss ,all dated. All evidence is to show you are in love and want to be married. Hope this helps, it is exactly how I was advised to write it and had no problems with RFE during the K1 Process.

I am hoping some fellow VJ'S can help me with a question I have for a friend of mine. He married on K1 visa. He will be filing for "Removal Of Conditions" for his wife and her 2 children. My questions for him is this, does he place the wife and 2 children on the I751 form together(as it does ask for children's info) or is it done on separate forms. He is aware of filling within 90days of green card expiration and all needed evidence for showing legit marriage. Also, how much are the filing fees for all 3 persons for lifting of conditions.

When I apply for AOS, can we open a joint bank account even if he won't have his social security number yet? How does that work. If someone has already answered this, please direct me to the correct thread. Thanks

You can open the checking account before applying for A.O.S. I use Chase Bank, opened checking account and savings in both mine and wife's name before she had her social security number. Once the social security number arrived we went back to bank with the information, no problem.

Most of the big international banks will allow this,go to your bank or call and ask them.

What if the petioner can't able to accompany you for interview? Does it mean there's a big chance to be denied? Coz I red some forum here that mostly, couples and they make it easier approve..cuz it's a waste of money if I'll let my fiancé come here in the Phil. Just to accompany me on my interview.... I wish you could give me some tips and advice what to do thanks and appreciated

It is not required to attend the interview in the Philippines. Although it is support for you it is not required. I would have liked to attended my wife's interview but was unable to do so. She did just fine without me there. Just have all your evidence needed to show proof of relationship. Goodluck!
