  1. ours took 3 days from delivery to be changed on the avr as received, and another 6 days to review and accept. good luck

yeah, no intention of breaking any queue. actually my I864 was lost by USPS, they initially sent to LA, and then they shipped it to NVC. USPS Online status says its delivered, so until AVR doesnt say "received" I cant trust USPS

    thank you klove & kaushalia.

  2. was there a resolution to this? what happened after your local police station refused a PCC? have local police stations in Gujarat started to give out PCCs? what is consulate doing when interviewer goes there without local PCC?

She got the Local PCC by showing the AOS cover page and NVC accepted a color photocopy of the Local PCC for the DS-230. I made a note in there that she will submit the original at time of interview and will present the Passport PCC at time of interview as well.

so you were able to submit the PCC at the time of interview ? We are facing the same issue , ahmeadbad pass-office is not issuing PCC until you show the appointment letter.

what did you send to NVC with ds-230 ?

  3. Hi all,

Our K3 file has been sent to Mumbai embassy, and I-130 is under processing in NVC. We just sent DS-3032, and AOS to nvc. We just want to now pursue with I-130 as we should be done in a month or two .

What should we do about our K3 file now ? WE didnt get any email or notification from NVC about K3. when I called yesterday, they said, they already sent it to the embassy.

    thanks,

    Nisarg

  4. Question: Do the tax returns need to be photocopies or originals? Do they need to be signed? And does the I-864 need to be notarized?

864 does not need to be notarized,

they can be copies of the tax returns...

Dhel, the 1040, you mean your taxes... if you are sending copies, send a signed copy...

    signed on the second page???

Hey guys, finally got the NVC case# today after 4 weeks. Thank you all VJ community for the support. Looking forward to start the NVC journey now..:)

  5. You should go to the USCIS Field office and ask them to call the Service Centre. My file did not reach the NVC either. I went to the field office every week for about a month before they afreed to call the service centre. I was then told that they lost the application and asked me to submit a copy of the application so that they could reconstruct the case. The priority dates remained the same. I was given a new case number and the new application was approved in a month.

So, if your case has not reached the NVS in 2-4 weeks, something is wrong. They will tell you a million excuses on the phone and at the field office (E.g. The NVC is busy and they havent entered your case in the system yet, but it is definitely with them...). But 90% of the time, USCIS messed up and misplaced the application. The issue is that they dont have a system to inform you if the file goes missing and you have to go bug them to get things moving.

Contacting the congressman is a good idea. In my case, the USCIS field office was pretty close to my office and it was easy for me to go there and bug them. I did contact the congressman and he did the same. Called the service centre and made them physically go look in my file and discovered that the application was missing.

Good luck man. I know what you are going through. The good news is that since they have already approved the petition, all they have to do is reconstruct the case and send you a new approval.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

    Binu

wow so i guess im not the only one. i called the national visa center today and they told me i should i allow 90 days before calling them..USCIS their office is really far away from me so i cant go there in person. ill call them again lets see what they have to say. thank you so much for all the information

Contact your Congressman? ABSOLUTELY...you should have done this 2 months ago! After 1 month of waiting for NVC to receive mine, I contacted my Congresswoman and she called that day USCIS and THAT DAY it was shipped. They misplace these files all the time. Good luck.

thank you! yes im going to their office today hopefully hes gonna help.

I think you should not go to congressman office directly ... speak with congressman office on phone and then write them email and just not include congressman we included 2 senetors and 1 congressman of KY bcz my wife is from KY . if you think i can help u in that matter write me . i will reply with the best knowledge what we have with the nvc and one more thing about NVC every time when u will call they will say 2 weeks and those 2 weeks took us up to 14 weeks in end we were tired and we involved congressman .

    Thank you !

we havent received NVC case#, our noa2 has been approved 3 weeks back..looks like i might need to contact the congressman..whats the best way to contact your congressman? how to find one ?

  6. Hi All,

Our I-130 was approved on Sept 24th, but we haven't been assiged NVC case# yet. our 129f was approved on Oct 8th, and today, we received the nvc case#.

I have been reading on the forums and preferred option is CR1. but I am not sure whats going on with I-130 which was approved 3 weeks back. Operator tells me it can take upto 90 days..I am not sure now if I should go ahead with K3 or wait for CR1 ...

has anyone faced similar situation? any suggestions ?

Many people have had success following K3 and switching at the embassy to CR1... I only filed for IR1, but perhaps there is someone here that can advise more on that....

Is your K3 in AP at NVC??? Reason I ask, if it is in AP, follow CR1 thru NVC, see which one hits embassy first, ither way do a flip at embassy if possible. This is not always possible cause embassy can cancel a K3 "Just like Paris embassy did today to us " and you have to interview for the CR1, which is fine, cause CR1 is the better visa.

sorry, how can I follow CR1? I dont the case# yet. I am not very sure about K3 process, whats AP ?

You will get a case number soon for the CR1, then follow thru with it at NVC.

AP is Additional Processing, usually back ground check for what ever matter, K3 and K1 petitions are no strangers for AP at the NVC. Ours lasted 37 days, in that 37 days we completed CR1 at the NVC. We completed the CR1 the same day our K3 came out of AP.

Ditch the K3 it will only cost you more money once she gets here.

I see..thanks for the information. I thought K3 NVC processing is for couple of days in NVC, it took 37 days for you ? after its approved by USCIS, what background check NVC does?

  9. It's been 2 months already and mine hasn't been received at NVC yet despite multiple calls to USCIS and their assurance they'll do it.

Their official line is that it might take up to 90 days to send an approved petition to NVC.

90 days? Are they out of their mind? I hope they aren't actually walking the files from CSC to New Hamshire (NVC)..Hope they know there are FEDEX and UPS options out there..

LOL...I was in a hurry too after we got approved at the USCIS, and after 5 days our file still haven't got at the NVC, when I checked Google Earth, I saw how far is California to the NVC office, so I just wait for another days, perhaps the delay would be on the carrier side.

ours was approved on 24th sept too, but still no case# yet.. it would help to have all operators entering our files to NVC system....

are there anyone else here who has to wait more than a month for NVC?
