Me too!! I know it's pointless but I've gone back to checking the USCIS website 5 times a day just like I did when I was waiting on my I-129F...although I'm a lot less stressed than back then, because at least we're together now I didn't sleep for about a month and a half waiting for my NOA2!
But hey, it's February now...lots of November filers got new in January, so I think this month will probably be our turn
Only 5 times a day. I dont think your that interested.

I have no idea if my EAD or AP has even been looked at because my receipt numbers are not on the system.
Depressing, isnt it.

Im struggling a bit with American home cooking. Eating out is OK but some of the stuff at home is just damn odd.
My wife's cooking is a brilliant mixture of what I like and her American upbringing but her mothers cooking is through and through old style
cooking. I have never see so much butter, salt, sugar used in cooking. No wonder out adopted nation has a slight weight issue.

So I just got off the phone with USCIS & it actually was a pleasant call, the girl was very helpful.
As I had just got into the 30 day period for 765 & 131, along with bio for 485, she put in a request for action (I think) on all 3 cases. Sadly that means if I haven't heard anything in 30 days I need to call back, but fingers crossed that the request kicks it into action.
Anyone else have any thoughts or info that sounds similar?
Personally I think you are a bit early with a request for action only into the 30 day period. Its averaging about 70 days for EAD/AP and X amount of time for AOS.
But good luck, I hope it moves things forward quicker for you.
Unfortunately service requests do have a window of 30 days in which action can be taken, but hopefully something will happen sooner for you
February is almost here...I'm hoping things will start happening for us all in the next few weeks!!
Any news of the RFE? or transfer to CSC yet?

Why not marry your fiance(e) and go down the I130 route. You will still have to return home, but it will reduce your cost and time and when all is approved you will have a Green card and be able to work from day one.
-
Another person from my k1 group was transferred to csc and after waiting 7 months they just got an rfe about medical records. Bleh.
So much for my hypthoesis then..
-
I have a hypothesis in relation to AOS of K1 visa holders and being sent to CSC.
I think the AOS is checked for completeness, accuracy at the NVC. If it fails that check an RFE is sent out. Once it passes this check it is then checked to see if it can be adjudicated without interview. If they think it can they send it to CSC, if not it is sent to your local USICS office.
So I wonder have they pretty much made up their mind at the NVC? Is the CSC just used to rubber stamp approval and maybe just catch somethingthey have missed?

Ok just got back from Norfolk VA for my biometric appointment. Got there at 10am instead pf 11am. Place was empty. In and out in 10 minutes.
I travelled down last night. (3 hour car trip). Hotel stay and car trip back up this morning after appointment.
Hmmmmm! I wonder if I can claim my expenses back from USCIS...............Nah.
-
That just means that it's arrived in California congrats! Hopefully things happen quickly for you now. Wouldn't mind getting one of those transfer notices myself
I hope you do as well.
I wonder do they check applications if the require RFE before they are transfered, then, as in my case are sent to the CSC to be adjudicated on?
-
OK on the 18th my case was sent to the CSC.
Now I have a new update on the 24th.
This:
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283
Also their email notification appears to be broken when it comes to my case.
-
Just discovered on the USCIS website that my I485 was transfered to CSC on the 18th of Jan (The first time any of my receipt numbers have appeared on their site). Im not sure if this is good as it might mean mo interview or a bad thing that it will take longer to get.
Its activity tho. so WOOOHOOO!

Yeah I've found some suuuuuper cheap flights home that I want to take advantage of but I don't dare book without AP! Hoping to get in a trip home before I start work, whatever that may be
Please go to Tesco's and bring me back EVERYHING.

It's amazing how much things vary from state to state. Thinking about it, FL may accept my EAD. I know we're going to try anyway.
I can drive with my UK license but really I'd only be able to drive a rental car. My hubby and I's insurance will not accept a foreign license and even if they did it makes insurance very expensive. So my car may be sitting on the driveway for a while!
Im on my wifes car insurance. It has me listed with a foreign driving license. It adds two point whatever that means.
-
I thought you can use your foreign drivers licence untill you get your green card.
I think it depends on which state your in. Some states only allow you 6 months before you are required to surrender your foreign driving license.
check with your local DMV.

Not that I am discouraging initiating threads but there is plenty of info. on this side and the search function is really good. Try it sometime
Here are the reviews of the ASC, I also saw some posts related to the walk-ins, upon search.

Yup I suppose I shoud look at this site in more detail. I forget people post their experiences. Im away to look.
-
Has anyone done a walk-in at the Norfolk VA ASC recently?
I know I asked a similiar question earlier but I would like to keep things moving and I dont want todrive for 3 hours for a wasted trip.
Nobody?
OK I suppose I will just have to wait till my appointment date.

So when you get the notice for the bio appointment, can you do a walk in anytime or just on the day you have the appointment?
Would love to just stroll in when I get it rather than wait
A lot of people are doing it. Just make sure your ASC accepts walk ins. Its a LONG car trip for me, to be told come back on the appointed date.
-
You can always try, if they are not busy they may take you.
Yup but it is a 6 hour return car trip for me
-
Is the Norfolk VA ASC office open for walk ins? I thought I had read somewhere it wasnt but cant find that info anymore.
Would like to get my Biometric appointment over and done with 3 weeks sooner.

This worked for me (pressing 6) to get a live person. But, they said can take up to 4 weeks for the mailroom to "process" the package. In the meantime, unless my check is cashed or my package rejected and sent back to me for some reason, I guess there isn"t much I can do for now- according to the USCIS person...
Joe
Has the money been taken from your bank account?
Yes, pressing 6 is how I got put through to a real person, they then put me through to someone else who confirmed I was all go, afte a 20 minute wait. They should have been able to check to see if you had made it into the system.

It was just luck-of-the-draw how quickly we got our NOA2. Other people filing around the same time as us got approved in similar timelines, but VSC slowed down a lot a couple months later. The Irish side of the process took longer because of the sheer incompetence and rudeness of the Gardai and the medical doctor. But still we were very lucky to get the visa 6 months from filing the petition. It just happened that way.
Sorry if I was confusing when I said "my AOS". It's actually my husband that's the Irish citizen. He's from County Clare, but spent his college years in Cork City, where we met. I'm sad I never got around to seeing Northern Ireland when I was living in Ireland. Hopefully on our next trip over!
And yes, he finds it absurd how so many Americans call themselves Irish, lol.
Oh a Clare man. At least his accent will be softer and more pleasant to listen to.
-
As annoying as it is, it's pretty common. My AOS only showed up online when they transferred it to CSC, and the EAD and AP only came up on the day they were approved!
Such is life.
I was just looking at your timeline (really must sort mine out). How come you had such a fast tracked K1 Visa?
What part of Ireland you from? Im from the North.
And isnt it amazing how every American claims to be Irish. lol

Finally received the NOA1 hardcopies yesterday as well as I can see them on the USCIS website today. Here's to getting the biometrics appointment notice ASAP.
When the bio appointment is set & you receive notice, can you just do an early walk in rather than wait for the actual day? Also does teh bio mean just for the green card or include the AP/EAD as well?
I have all the paperwork (NOAs) like yourself but I just dont appear on their website. Finally got through on the phone and they said it might never appear.

Althougth we are used to near instant delivery of text messages on our phones, the network providers do not guarantee it. SOme say up to 24 hours for a text message message to be delivered. Really depends on network and cell site saturation.
