  1. From my experience I know that one-way tickets are way more expensive than return tickets. In my case one-way would have been some 1000 USD more. So I got a return ticket with a return for September next year (that was the longest I could get). By then I will probably have all the documentation in order (I will be a US resident so visa won't be required anymore), thus I could travel if I want to.

K1 is solely issued for US and it has nothing to do with other countries. However, transiting Japan may require a transit visa. But it depends on the policies between Philippines and Japan. I think you should check with the travel company - they should know wether you need a trasit visa or not.

Good luck and keep us posted!

  2. Good morning all! I have slept like a baby last night! I can't remember when was the last time I've slept so good!

Thanks everybody for your wishes! I will keep on sending good vibes for all of you and I wish you all the best in the world! You've made my journey so much easier!

Musho, I have taken with me all the documents refered to in the instructions page received from the embassy. I don't know if the instructions are the same for everybody. It was very important to have the originals of the most important documents - birth certificate, divorce decrees (both mine and his), criminal record. There was this girl who didn't bring the original of her american fiance's divorce decree so she was rescheduled for a later time (she was asked to call again and reschedule her interview when she has the document in hand). That was so sad! Also, to make sure they won't send me back to get God knows what I took every document and/or copy of documents - including those already included in the petition. I didn't need any though.

At the end of the interview they treated me like I was one of theirs. That was nice!

I will be leaving on December 17th. My port of entry will be Memphis, TN. I will keep you posted and I will keep on being here with you. The journey is far from over and over the last months I have come to know and care for all of you. It may sound corny but it's true. :secret:

    Hugs and kisses to all,

    Ileana

Hi guys. Thats so sweet of you. We feel the same. Don't know how we would have got this far without you all. Glad you finally had a good nights sleep Ileana! Now you can RELAAAAX! Ahh! Once again, CONGRATS! :D:D:D We are soooooo happy for you both and glad that your interview went smoothly!!! Its so exciting that you will be going home on December 17th. I always refer to NJ as home now cos thats where my heart is (L):D Please keep us all informed as to how you get on (POE, Social Security Number application etc...) and also... when is your wedding??!!!

Ileana, do you mind me asking, when you say you needed 'original documents', do you have to have the petitioners passport and original payslips, employers letter etc aswell..? Or will copies for those suffice instead? I say because unfortunately I will be going to the interview alone and therefore won't have these.

Also we keep calling NVC to find out if London have recieved our case yet and they keep telling us, no not yet. It has been over a week! I keep thinking maybe it has been recieved but the info hasnt got over to NVC yet. I saw that on a few other UK timelines... Also I booked my medical for December 21st! Yay! So Russ will be able to come and hold my hand after all (Im not exactly looking forward to the blood test!?

Hope you're all doing well. :) We keep you all in our thoughts.

    Thank you all again!

Rachel, I only needed his divorce decree in original. The rest of the documents from him (employers letter, bank statement, affidavit of support, income tax were copies). They never asked for a copy of his passport or proof of citizenship - those documents were already in the petition file.

I was lucky enough that my office is 5 minutes from the embassy so I called and I found out that I have the option to pick up package 3 personally instead of waiting for them to send it via regular mail. So I went there and I spoke directly to the person in charge of our file (the secretary who puts everything together for the counsel) and she advised me on what I need to bring before the interview and for the interview. Lucky again because as it turned out I didn;t need to bring anything before the interview - she only asked me to fill in the biometrics form right then and there and then said that I only have to call and schedule for interview when I have the original of the divorce decree. And so I did. However, the day I called to schedule the interview she remembered that I was still to bring her 2 pictures and a copy of my passport. I told her that I will be there in 10 minutes so she just went ahead and scheduled the interview. Needless to say that 10 minutes later I was there with what she asked from me.

About the wedding - it will be sometime in January. We haven't decided yet since we wanted to see the visa in hand first. I think I am a little superstitious. After all I am coming from Dracula's land, right? :D Anyway, you'll be amongst the first to know!

Just feel free to ask me anything. I am more than happy to help you out if I can.

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

  3. Good morning everyone!

Although I am not a CSC filer I am still a July one and my first post was here, with you. You gave me guidance when I felt lost and I didn't know my way around. So, I promissed I will come back and share my developments with you.

Thus, I am here to tell you that I got the visa yesterday!!!!!! Everything was smooth and fast, the interview was simple and easy and the people nice and helpful. All in all it took 4 months from the date we submitted the petition to the day I got the visa. YAY!!!!!!!

I keep my fingers crossed for all of you and wish you will complete the process as fast as I did if not faster!

    Hugs to all,

    Kitty

  5. I GOT THE VISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy!!! Now all I have to do is get on a plane and go home!

The interview was so simple and easy! We are together 6 years now and the counsel only asked me three questions: where and how did we meet, do I know his family and what are my plans for when I get to US. After answering the last questions she said "your visa was aproved, congratulations!" Half an hour later I had the passport with the visa in my hand! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Feel free to ask me anything. I am so excited I don;t know if I missed any useful information.

Hugs and good luck to all!!!

    Ileana

  6. Congratulations NewYorkSydney!!! Good luck with your new life in the US! I wish you a smooth adjustment!

I am so sorry for what you have to go through Rachel! I hate people patronizing others just because they can. One of these days I will ask one of them if they are getting paid extra just to be abnoxious! Awwwww, your doggie is so cute!!! I want to get me one just like that when I get to US. We already chose a name for it - Dexter! :)

Coleen, good luck! I keep my fingers crossed for you too!

Thank you so much Azra! Have you scheduled your medical already?

Sending lots of good vibes for you Batta! Hope everything will sort out soon.

Keep you all in my thoughts and prayers,

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

  7. Good morning family! :P

Thanks to all keeping their fingers crossed for me!

Hang in there Mariam, you'll get there too eventually. At least you've got to see him. ;)

Colleen, your avatar picture is awsome! My hubbie looks great in uniform too! ;)

Mushroom is good for me too. :)

Victoria, thanks! You're the soul of this topic!

Ahmed, have a wonderful time! It's so good to be with your loved one, isnt't it?

You're all in my thoughts every day.

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

  8. Oh, EasternDe! I am so sorry it's taking so long for you! I know we all hope to spend winter holidays with our loved ones! Just hang in there. You never know. ;)

Azra is even more beautiful than Musho! And I totally agree with Russ&Rachel that we should call each other with our real names. I think we should make a list, something like:

    Simon & Janet -

    Russ& Rachel - Russ & Rachel

    Kitty23 - Ileana & Pablo

    Musho - Azra &

    Pdcvcm -

    EasternDe -

    ITT -

    Coleens -

    Oldahmed -

    Peruvy&Gringa -

    JewelX -

Feel free to add to the list. :P

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

  9. Enjoy your time together Pdcvcm! You rightfully deserve it after waiting for so long! Have a glass of champagne for us! ;)

Thanks Musho! Your name is so cute too! To me it sounds like a butterfly!

Stay strong Batta! We're praying for you!

Fingers crossed for the last couple to get NOA2!

PS. Do we have to move to another thread when we start AOS? Just don't want to lose you guys! :D

  10. Congratulations Musho!!!! I am so happy for you!!!

Finally one good news in quite a while!

Thank you so much Pdcvcm! I think age really doesn't matter - what matters it's your attitude. So, you're actually a leonesse, right? ;)

We need to see Russ and Rachel approved too! Hurry up VSC!

I hope we will keep in touch and go together through the rest of the journey - AOS and stuff. I love this big family, I do!

  11. Hi guys!!! I too check VJ each and every day hoping I see Musho and Russ&Rachel approved! I can feel their dissapointment and desperation. I know I would feel the same. :girlwerewolf2xn:

Hang in there Batta. I am sure everything will be just fine eventually. I keep my fingers crossed for you!

Congrats to those who have chosen their wedding date already! We are discussing January but haven't made a decision just yet. We don't want to jinx it by getting ahead of the game. One step at the time, right? :D

I am still waiting for USPS to bring me the rest of the documents so I can schedule my interview. The waiting kills me. I just want to see the visa on my passport so I can breathe again! ;)

Last week I turned 40. My baby tells me that 40 is the new 20 now. So, adding to that some wisdom and experience I get the perfect recipe for success, right? :secret:

My heart goes with all of you and someday I wish I could meet with you in person. You're making my journey more bearable and fun!

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

  12. Good morning everyone! I hope this all the rest waiting for their NOA2 will eventually get it! Sending good vibes and praying for you!

I am waiting for some originals from my baby so I can finally schedule for the interview. Hopefully I will get them by the end of the week. I am so anxious to get this over with! I will keep you posted.

    Big hugs to you all!

  13. I am so sorry EasternDE! Fortunately the embassy here is very fast. I already booked my flight for December 17. So we will be spending X-mas together with God's help. My interview will probably be scheduled for next week. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!

About fights: we had them too, on and off, since we filled the I129F. But I think we are wise enough to know that it is only stress and when things get heated we just put everything on hold until the next day - sort of sleep on it, right? :)) Then things get right back on track as they should.

Come on VSC, hurry up! Our friends are waiting! :clock:
