  1. Hi everyone!

I think this a very valuable information:

I have sent my AOS package WITHOUT form I-693. If you read the instructions to put the package together you will see that I-693 is not necessary for K1 applicants if it hasn't been a year from the last medical. I only sent a copy of the vaccination report (which was incomplete since some information was lost). My AOS was approved in less than 2 months - I applied on 14 March and I got my aproval on 11 May. I just got my GC last week.

Now, if you think about it, even if they decide not to process the file without I-693, the worst thing that may happen is that you get a RFE which will delay the proces by 2 to 4 weeks. Not that bad, huh?

Good luck everyone! Hope this information will save you time and money!

  2. Hi everybody!

We got the approval letter on Friday so starting 14th of May I am a US resident. :-) No interview was required in our case. EAD is taking longer though but I am sure it's on it's way too. I should receive the green card in the mail in the next few weeks. So fast!!!!

Oh, I was worried that we will get a RFE because I didn't include the I-693 form in the package. I only send the vaccination record. However, it seems that it wasn't necessary. :-) It may be because my age waivers me from further vaccinations though.

Good luck to those still waiting for their approval!

  3. Hi everybody!

Our case was transfered to CSC as well. After doing a little bit of research and asking some of the "veterans" in the business I found out that most likely an interview won't be necessary for the cases transfered. So it's good news!

I've had my biometrics in April and I am waiting for my EAD now.

    Yes.

  4. Well, apparently that is not entirely accurate. We thought so too only to find out that my son - whose name we mentioned on the K1 petition as you said, thinking that it is only for information purposes, was in fact included in the petition based solely on that piece of information. We have not included him in the affidavit of support or in any other document since he didn't want to follow or join. However, he was called by the embassy for an interview but he didn't show up.

Since then he appeared before a counsel at the embassy to apply for a visitor visa. His visa was denied based on the fact that a K1 petition was filed by us on his behalf. So we sent a letter to the embassy trying to explain that it was a mistake and he has never been included in the petition. Their answer was - well, yes he was - look at field 13 on the I129F. We were puzzled. They don;t believe us that it was an honest mistake - and maybe, just maybe, someone at the embassy didn;t do their job as they should have.

Now I am trying to prove that to the embassy and I don't know how. I was wondering wether NOA2 would be of any help.

Please, if anyone has ever been through a similar situation, help!

Your question is not quite correctly formed.

NOA2 applies to the I-129F petition, typically approval. In the I-129F the USC petitioner must list ALL children of the foreign beneficiary. There is no statement on the petition as to which children will be joining or following the beneficiary. So USCIS does not know which if any of ALL the listed children will be applying for the derivative K-2 visa.

So the short answer is NO, NOA2 does not list the children because it knows nothing about which if any children have anything to do with the process.

    Do you understand?

  5. You poor thing! Hopefully they will solve the situation somehow. Unfortunatelly they are not so good admitting they are wrong. My son was denied his visitor's visa because somebody at the embassy messed up and he appears now as if he applied for an immigration visa himself, which he didn't. But they won't admit it was their fault. They said we messed up and included him in the petition. So we copied the petition and send it to the embassy to prove it. We are still waiting for a resolution on this.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. From what I have learned since I've got here, if you want them to do something you have to keep bugging them until they do.

    Good luck my french sister.

    Hugs,

    Ileana

  6. Congratulations everyone! :-)

Welcome to US my french sister! :-) You will be just fine.

How is american life for you Azra? :-)

I am now in process of adjusting my status here. We submitted the package on March 12, had our NOA 1 for both AOS and EAD on March 22nd and I am scheduled for biometrics on April 15. Wish me luck! :-)

    Hugs to all,

  7. Hi,

Let me tell you how it went in my case. I entered US through Memphis POE. I had to stand in line with all the other non-citizens but when I got to the immigration desk and I explained the situation, the clerk took my picture and my fingerprints (for some reason he only asked me for only two fingerprints - thumb and index) called someone else and I was sent to Office 1 which was a room somewhere inside. I handed the envelope to the Immigration Officer that came to escort me to Office 1 and then I had to wait there for them to complete the formalities. I couldn't see what they were doing as they went into another office. 10 minutes later the Immigration Officer came with a form that I needed to fill in and Form I-94 that he filled in and then stapled to my passport (it;s a little piece of paper with a stamp). I-94 is extremely important as it will be necessary when you will file for AOS. So, make sure you don;t lose it. :-) (There were cases when people took it off from the passport thinking they won't need it anymore). After he handed me the passport I was free to go. I think the whole process lasted some 15 minutes. Piece of cake. :-)

    Good luck!

  8. Good morning everybody! :-)

Congrats to all for getting closer to your goal. ;-) I keep thinking of each and everyone of you and keep my fingers crossed.

I watched Super Bowl yesterday - it was my first. Gorgeous!

We are working on my AOS right now. Lots of forms and documents. I have a feeling of deja vu! :-) Not too difficult though. Hopefully it won't take long to get my green card and work permit. I went to the SSN office to apply but I was told I can't get my SSN on my married name until I get my green card. So they kept my documents but not the application. They said they will check with the USCIS.

Other than that I am fine. Not too much to do other than house work. Lucky for me I am a cleaning freak - thus I can always find something to do. :-)

    Hugs and kisses to all,

    Ileana

  9. Good morning my french sister! :-) As you said the only thing that really matters is that you will be together. That's how we feel too. Adjusting is complicated but with lots of love and understanding you'll get through that as well. I am here already a month now and for some reason it still feels temporary, like soon I will have to pack my things and leave again. But I know that's because this is what we've done for the last 6 and a half years. Always on the run. Being here for good feels almost surreal.

Iam sure that our wedding will be more beautiful than if we had to plan it for months. :-) And yours will be too. After all it's the feeling that matters, right?

We don't think about AOS right now either. One step at the time. I guess we are both very tired from going through the K1 process.

Congratulations Simon and Janet!!! You are almost there now! :-) I am so happy for you!

    Hugs and kisses to all,

    Ileana

  10. Good morning family! We are getting married on the 22nd of January!!! It will only be a small ceremony held in a chapel on a military airforce base. Unfortunately there will be nobody to attend since both our families are far away from here and there's no time to bring them all. But it's ok. I have arranged with the priest to have the laptop with us and broadcast the ceremony online so all our loved ones could see us. :-)

We got our wedding rings a few days ago. For some reason (maybe because we had to do it so fast) I don't feel like I am getting married. It feels more like completing a task. hehehe On the other hand it may be that we already feel like we are married to each other since we spent so many years together.

Well, I wish everyone all the best and to those still waiting for approvals may your journey be as smooth as ours was.

    Hugs and kisses to everybody,

    Ileana

  11. Hi again family! I am here almost two week now and I am still adjusting. I am looking forward to our wedding - we don't know the date yet since it depends on the marriage licence. The city hall asks to allow 30 days from submitting the documents to issue the licence. Soprobably it willbe sometime late January. How is everybody? What's your status as of now?

    Love you all,

    Ileana

  12. Hi family! Iam in US some 4 days now. I travelled smoothly, actually the flight was one hour early than it was supposed to be. People at Memphis were really nice. They welcomed me with a big smile - the interview lasted less than 5 minutes. So one of the first things I've done here was shopping obviously! ;) X-mas tree, decorations, presents and all! I am like a kid in a candy store!

Well, I will take some time to relax and then start the rest of the process - marriage, AOS and all. For now I don't worry about anything. :D

Hugs and kisses to you all!

  13. Hi sister Azra! ;)

Close enough for me! :) Congrats on your medical! Vaccination was not a problem for me. They said that if there's anything else (in terms of necessary vaccination) I can do it while in the States.

In my case they scheduled the interview 9 days after I called the embassy. It ranges widely from one country to another. Some countries schedule the interview in a matter of days while others in a matter of months. I think you should check VJ for similar cases.

If I were you I'd already call to schedule the interview. You will get the documents in a matter of days now, right?

I am leaving on Dec. 17. As soon as I get there I will let you know.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!
