  1. and if i recall correctly - i tried to send it w/out a barcode - so the barcode is simply used to scan the document in upon receipt. if there is no barcode, whoever is sitting there scanning the documents probably shoves yours to the side, and then comes back to it after they are done with their pile. or if it's completely automated, it gets rejected and is done manually.

    it worked for me.

right around the same time, or shortly thereafter - james, was dorking with printing his own.

  2. we did this - but that was over 5 years ago. the barcode was nothing more than a representation of your nvc case number. it contains no other information. you could download software to generate the barcode yourself.

i would have recommended this 5 years ago when we did it - but not sure if anything has changed now. jame's shortcuts were something we all contributed to through trial and error....

  3. So we applied 2/5/10, not sure when the check was cashed, but the NOA1 came in 2/16/10 and we just today got our notice for fingerprints for 3/17/10. The fingerprint notification states has a notice date of 2/25/10.

When I attempted to check the case status on the USCIS website, it says a RFE was sent - doesn't clarify. It has the same date of 2/25/10.

My question is that when the fingerprint notification is sent, does the USCIS website generically show a RFE notice, or do you think I will be receiving a RFE request in the next coming days? The only thing that makes me think that it is the same thing is that the dates are the same...

    Thanks in advance.

  8. here' s a phone number to vermont service center - who's daring enough to call it?

    (802) 527-4913

and here's an interesting piece i found:

In addition to temporary visas, the Vermont Service Center currently handles all TPS renewals (roughly 300,000 per year), I-130s and I-601s filed in Canada, Violence Against Women Act cases (I-360s, U visas and T visas), and border adjudications under NAFTA. This presents VSC with a large and irregular workload, and may lead to periodic backlogs

    Aila Article

Lol just ask me, I can give you the same answer:

You: "I would like to enquire as to the status of my case."

VSC: " grrrr.... you just woke me up ... grrrr ... and I don't even want to work today ... grrrrr...."

    You: " ..."

VSC: " what do I have to do for you today?!"

VSC: " what's your case number"

    You: "SRC123234980"

    *typing*

VSC: " It shows you're within the processing time. have a nice day."

You: " But you've had my application for over a year now..."

VSC: " They are currently processing applications filed..."

VSC: " When is your NOA1 date?"

    You: " Feb 27, 2007"

VSC: " Well they currently process applications filed beginning of February... you will be approved soon!"

    You: "ok"

VSC: " Well have a nice day"

    You: "um..."

    *click*

You: "hello? I have another question. Hello?"

well then, we'll just have to find another number won't we?

  10. congrats to everyone!!

still nothing from my end. i need a theory to explain these random events. seems like we've already excluded the possiblity of going in some sort of alphabetical order..

    other two possibilities

1 - don't hate me for this - this is just a theory - kids. do you all have kids

2 - how much evidence did you provide?

wondering if having kids is helping out any, and if sending in less evidence - meaning less time to validate - means anything.

just theories - nothing else - don't start a fire storm out of theories!!

  11. i was wondering....

so far the lack of renewal hasn't really hindered our ability to do anything - i mean it really hasn't made a difference in day to day life. the only thing i can imagine is that if the wife needed to leave the country it might be a problem as we are a year into having applied.

so outside of being outright annoying - what real difference has it made on anyones lives? really..? i'm not trying to say that the USCIS is right in taking so long - what i am trying to find out is what adverse affect has it had on anyone - substantial affect...
