  1. You rarely post nowadays, NinJones.

I printed your medical exam experience last year before I took mine in mid-October.

 Thanks for that. Although the order of the medical exam was different for me (it started by recording my vital signs first), your post was still helpful because I found out what to expect. I think all the tests were similar. It's just what came first and what had to be done next that swerved.

    Hakuna matata.

    God bless us constantly.

    FAE :luv:

Wow!! Thank you! :) ... so, how many pages was it? I'm curious!

Anyhoo ... I still lurk around here every day ... more of a reader than a poster actually :)

  2. Scenario:

Husband called the USEM on 28th of December to find out that my visa was approved that same day.

    Dec. 29

    Dec. 30

    Dec. 31

...... I neither bother to call USEM nor attempt to know if it's on Air21 already, knowing how much of a big deal 'extended weekend/holiday' is on Philippines.

    Jan 1 - obviously is a holiday.

    Jan 2 - Saturday. No.

Jan 3 - Sunday. Still no can do.

Jan 4 - I only started to count from here, it's been 6 calendar days and 1 or 2 (or 3?) working days.

Jan 5 - Called Air21 to find out that it is out for delivery. Got excited too soon, I kept on tracking it via web and sms till I get a result of "Delivery Attempted" WT'heck?!?!?! I called Air21 immediately to find out what went wrong and they gave me a reason that they can't effing find where I live ...

Duhrrr?! I gave them 2 mobile numbers and a landline no., I've used UPS/FeDex/LBC/2GO and all of them called when they needed to know where I am exactly!... have also been told that they will re-attempt to deliver on the next day (Jan 6)

Jan 6 - Hoping for the delivery. Called Air21 and told me it won't be delivered this said day because it was sent back to the main cargohaus and would take 24 hours to bring it back to the distribution offices. Lame ...

Jan 7 - Delivered finally. Scolded the delivery guy a bit <_<

Lesson: To get the most out of your excitement - expect little of them USEM guys and Air21 :bonk:

  3. We received the forms from air21 and already start gathering all the necessary documents for the CRBA application of our daughter. To those who experienced filing CRBA for their daughter out of wedlock, What are all the forms that my fiance have to fill up and have to be notarized, just a bit confused here. And after we are done with everything and call for courier pick up,Am i suppose to put there all the documents that they only sent?and the rest in the interview?like my fiance passport, birth certificate, photos, proof of pregnancy and all other supporting documents?Sorry I have so many questions, just want to make sure of every little detail...

One more thing can my fiance just download the forms, instead of me sending them in Fedex and spend $$...

    Thanks (F)

He can download this Affidavit of Parentage

To be safe girl, just have it sent to you after he fills out the affidavit, you can never tell how the consul would prefer the submitted affidavit - fax'd/photocopy, scanned, email'd, original etc ... obviously, original is the safest thing to give - with his signature and notary seal from the US.

Yes, he's gonna spend - and he has to.

  4. we all really can't compare why others got their visa in just a couple days while ours is taking so long. Mine took 8 days. Remember that you should at least let 7 working days pass, ..... so for you, that would be Tuesday. If you still don't get it by Wednesday or Thursday, then it really needs some serious bugging phone calls to USEM.

your girl will get it, don't worry :)

  5. Heres another question

if the consular officer should be from here, could we submit the documents without its signature yet and have it signed and fill it when he is here? wahh my questions are a bit confusing too, lol hope you all could still understand, haist!

    Another thing....

Scenario is, if you would drop off the CRBA packet at the USEM (or let Air21 pick it up, whichever you prefer) you'll receive a call from them telling you of your appointment date. Call could be as early as two days upon submission of the packet or like in my case, it took them 5 days ... BUT, be reminded that interviews won't be sooner than you expect, mine was scheduled 15 working days apart.... but still, if you'll have the interview in time when your husband will be here (w/c is much better), bringing an unsigned affidavit is okay too, let the CO do the rest.

Let's hear it from the others. :)

  6. We were confused about that notarization-thing too, I thought I had to do it at any legal office here in the Philippines. Although I did and paid a hundred pesos for it, I ended up filling up a new form (DS2029) inside the embassy at the time of our daughter's interview, the screener crossed out the part of the notarized DS2029 I originally submitted and was told that it is not accepted, so the CO signed it afterwards during the final interview.

The DS3053 (consent form) from my husband that was notarized from the US was no problem. So probably, a notarized paper coming from your husband from the United States would not be that big of a deal.

Let's hear it from the others. :)

  7. What if the father of my daughter is my fiance, who is a USC. We had her even before we file for a K1 visa petition,we also get a K2 for her so she will be included,,But some are saying K2 is not needed anymore,we might as well let the Consulate in Manila about it so if they will approved no need for K2 visa and she is automatically a US citizen too coz her father is a US citizen...I thought that is just for married filipina and US citizen one..My fiance even took a paternity leave when i gave birth and he is the one who even register the birth of our daughter and get an affidavit that Kiss(our daughter)can carry her name even we are not yet married...

Any helpful advice will be appreciated....THANKS! (F)

Married or not .. your daughter is still eligible for US Citizenship. :) You can apply for her CRBA. Go girl ;)

  8. another option, if you don't have the air21 receipt (for cases like COD), you may call the 'Air21 for USEM customer assistance' number is (02) 8794747, ask for you visa status and if you don't have a tracking no., they will ask for your MNL case number and they'll track it for you, they'll also give your tracking number so you may check on either website or sms. :) that's what I did.

  9. Here I am with another inquiry :P

We're finally flying to IL this February, my daughter having a US passport (crba) requires an exit clearance, I DO plan on getting her a Phil passport as well. I've seen a few discussions regarding NOT getting an exit clearance from Dept. of Immigration since the Phil passport of the child will cover it .. however, it's been quite a while, I honestly want to read latest experiences from people who brought their kids under US passport WITHOUT having to secure an exit permit but with the effect of the dual citizenship instead.

Any advices? I would really appreciate it. Thank you all in advance!

  10. sorry .. i don't mean to hijack  ... but since i've a similar inquiry, so--- oh well

.. mine is about a few cm torn on the side, dunno, been like that ever since I got it, is this okay??
