Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of removing the conditions of residency. I filled the papers back in August 2012, got a letter with an ASC Appointment Notice for biometrics (Form I-797C), went to my biometrics appointment, and I got also my I-751 receipt notice (Form I-797) and knew that I will have to wait 6 + months until my new Green Card will arrive. Today, for the first time I wanted to check my status online and notice something weird. Apparently, I have two WAC numbers!?!

Form I-797C:

This is the document with the ASC Appointment notice, that tells you that you have to go in for biometrics. The form has an “Application Number”: WAC + ten numbers. If typed in on the uscis.gov to check your status, it tells me that” On August 6, 2012, we received this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. “

Form-797:

I received the I-797 stating that my conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year. This letter has a “Receipt Number”: WAC + ten numbers (these numbers differ from the I-797C form mentioned above).

If typed in on the uscis.gov to check your status, it tells me that my case ”can not be found at this time in My Case Status.”

My reference number/USCIS A# is the same on both forms.

Does anyone else have two different WAC number?

In order to check you status online which number on what form do you use? I-797 or I-797C?

any updates on this issue?

The new processing time report for the California Service Center came out recently.

However, the form does not mention the processing time for the I-751 documents. All the older monthly reports did. Does anyone know why?

I want to go back to Germany over the Christmas holidays for 2 weeks. Should I accept any problems reentering the US since my new green card hasn't came in? I am assuming not, but just wanted to double check.

I am living in California and submitted my I-751 not long ago. I received a letter saying that my green card got extended for one year and a few weeks later an appointment for biometrics. How long after the biometrics appointment should I expect my green card extension?

by the way Germany also allows it. I have already dual citizenship: Polish and German. Thus, I also think Germany doesn't encourage it. I want to get my US citizenship, but still keep my German one. If someone has experience and went through a similar process, please let me know.

I heard already muliple times, that there are ways to get dual citizenship.

What is the US law? Does the US allow dual citizenship?

Can family members be affidavits attesting to our relationship and marriage? Do they need to go to a notary and get a signature and seal?

what kind of allowance is this?

319(b) expeditious naturalization: my company is private (we have an ESAP program - employees own company stocks) and not on the stock market. Can I still apply for that kind of naturalization from Europe? I was reading 319(b) and my understanding was that the U.S. company has to be somehow connected to the U.S. government as for instance the military. Please advice where I can find more information about this topic.

It was a long process to get the green card and I don't feel to go over it again. My company tells me not too worry, because I am married to a U.S. citizen and I should just go. However, they didn't tell me anything about the complications that can occur when I stay in Europe for a couple of years.

My company isn’t public it is a private company with an ESAP program (employees who work for the company can get stocks.) Two answers, two different opinions. Any other opinions to my original questions.

Two more things:

1)Is there a difference in paying taxes while living and working in the U.S. between having a Green Card and having Citizenship. I thought that in both cases I will have to pay taxes?

2)Is there a difference in paying taxes while living and working in the Europe while working for a U.S. company between having a Green Card and having Citizenship. I thought that in the case of a green card I do not necessary have to pay taxes if they send me back to Europe as a local and pay me in local currency. Is this correct? How about when I have U.S. citizenship? Do I have to pay U.S. taxes and taxes in Europe? What about agreements between two countries which protect you from paying double taxes?

Hi everyone,

I got married last year to a U.S. citizen. I came here with a K1 visa and received a conditional green card. I will have to renew my green card next year.

I got a job offer to move back to Europe with my wife and work in there (it is unclear how long, most likely for a longer period of time 3+ years). I don't own any property and my company will pay me in the local currency (I am from there and they can affoid double taxation)

Some short questions:

1) How does effect my conditional green card status? Can I apply for returning resident (SB-1) visa? For how long is it valid? What requirements do I have to fullfill? Any infos on that visa?

2) Can I renew my conditional green card while living in Europe?

3) How many times per year do I have to enter the U.S. in order to keep my green card status? Once per year? For how long do I have to stay in the U.S. when I visit?

4) Can I apply for naturalization/citizenship while in Europe?

5) I almost feel that this is just to much potential trouble and I should wait a little bit before I go back to Europe for job opportunities. In 6 months I can apply for my 10 years green card and 1 year later for citizenship. I feel (after reading different posts) that going back for a longer amount of time can really risk of loosing my green card even though I am employed by a US company and married to a US citizen. Comments?

I got finally my notice for the initial interview!

I am collecting all the documents which are on the list they send me and I was wondering what kind of documents should I bring as “supporting evidence of relationship”?

So far I have:

- Insurance paper for our car (name of my wife and me is on it)

- Bank statements proofing that we have a joint account

- Some pictures

- We live with my wife parents, so they signed a piece of paper saying that my wife and me live at their place (there is no lease document which states both of our names, therefore we did this)

I just graduated and my wife is still going to school so we don't have any property that we owe. The car is on my name (should I bring a copy of the title?). We also have seperate health insurances. She has one in the U.S. and I have one from my home country Germany, because it is way cheaper for me for the first year. We will get a healt insurance togehter once I have a job (and of couse I need the green card first).

Question 1:

Are these papers enough as a proof? What kind of documents would you also recommend?

Question 2:

Also, on the check list is says bring “all documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status.” What kind of papers are these?

Question 3:

How long does it approx. take until I receive my green card after the interview?

One short question. I will have my biometrics appointment next week. My friend had his last year and he had to pay $80.

On my letter there is just mentioned to bring the "ASC Appointment Notice" and a valid photo ID. There is nothing saying that I have to pay for something. Is it for free now?

If I have to pay some fee for that appointment how should I pay for it (check???) and how much is it?

Also, does anyone know how long it will approximatly take to receive:

a) My EAD card

b) An invite for the interview

c) My green card

I need an advice for the visa interview. Just wanted to know what kind of papers do I need in order to proof that I have a real marriage with my wife.

She is still a student, does not have any income and lives with her parents. I also just graduated and now I am waiting for my work permission.

1)

I know I need to have a joint bank account. We already set one up, but we also have our own seperate accounts. Little daily purchases (like gas for the car or groceriers) we pay from our own seperate accounts. Should we start doing it from the joint account? As I said we don't have so much money. My wife also got financial aid for school, since I don't work yet. The money will go to the joint account and we will pay her tuition from this account.

2)

I am living with my wife and her parents. Since they own the house I am not on the lease. What kind of paper should I provide? Is it enough when the parents write a short letter saying that I life with their daughter at their house?

3)

My wife has an insurance through her parents. I have an insurance in Germany (overseas insurance). I want to get an insurance in the U.S. once I start working for me and my wife. So we don't have the same insurance yet. Is this a big deal for the USCIS?

What kind of documents should I also collect????

I know that the amount is $1010.

On the "Pay to the Order of" line I will write: "U.S. Department of Homeland Security."

but what should I write as a brief description of the purpose of the payment (left bottom side of the check - "For")????

I don't know if this matters. I would just write "AOS application fee"
