Congrats and thanks for the photos! I didn't go with DH for his interview so it was great seeing the place where it all took place
-
Great news! He sounds like he is hella stoked!
-
We met on an email mailing list (which is why I picked forum)

Too funny! DH was just saying that any fool can make the stamp!

I am a Capricorn and DH is Cancer!
My hubby must have a thing for Capricorns...his ex wife is a Capricorn too!

So another 2-3 weeks to go!
got mine in about 3 or 4 weeks -
Yup, start saving to "git r done"!
Luckily my DH travelled a lot for work and had hella airline miles. He flew first class to Montreal for his interview...and got to hit some of his old haunts (he is from there)
Thank you everyone for your responses. That is too bad that they can't process the CR1 in Vancouver, I better start saving now! -
He already has a SSN from when he had his K-3 and EAD. The SSN card says it is only good with work authorization.
I told him he should get another one that doesn't have that stipulation on it.
Funny DH looked at the entry Stamp and was like "is that it?" ####### did he want, a ticker tape parade?

How long did it take for you to receive your actual Green Card? We did the POE yesterday (very quick and painless), and I just wanted to know how long the wait usually is...
-
We entered with just the clothes on our back. He said he would be sending his stuff at a later date
Had no prob

DH just activated his visa a couple of hours ago
DH is still continuing to work in Canada (I live just over the border in the US). He does have some prospects though...keeping fingers crossed
Best of luck to you

I guess I was one of the lucky ones I guess the fact I knew a few of the agents helped
Our activation was quick and painless. Except that I made a immigration agent step away us.
We went to the Pacific Hwy Truck Crossing in Blaine, WA. I knew a few of the guys there. They told us to go in to the office
One of the guys saw our IDs and asked. "How are you 2 associated?"
I said "We are married...I ain't killed him--YET"
Dave was just shaking his head like, "I do NOT know her!"
The agent kinda cracked a smile and tried not to laugh. he had to step away because apparently he LOST IT and fell out laughing.
We were in and out within 15 minutes...the agent did the paperwork and welcomed him into the US.
Now Dave is officially a Resident Alien...
Just gotta wait until his Green Card arrives in the mail

We got married in Las Vegas and we had a few family menbers come out. Glad we kept it small. If my mom had her way, we woulda had a big church wedding with 300+ guests
Loved having a Vegas wedding...wouldn't have it any other way

Apparently you don't need to travel with everything. Dave is FINALLY (bout damn time) activating his visa on Sunday. (he has an IR-1). You just need a list of what you will be declaring. he is keeping his car (he wanted to wait till his ride was a year old). Honda is sending him the letter for free
Welcome to the USA Letter
