    Met online a couple years ago, fell in love about 6 months later...yeah, yeah, yeah, decided to make a go of our relationship long distance and meet another and our families. I flew to Lagos last September, he was supposed to come to California in October, but tourist visa was denied! OMG, found out we were to be expecting a baby together, decided to file for K1 and now desperately wanting our family to be together!

    I think your advice is valid. It is very important to spend real time with someone for a significant amount of time before committing oneself to marriage. I am thankful I got that 8 months of day to day living time with my fiance, I know his worst side and he knows mine, we know what we are signing up for. I'm sorry you didn't get such a chance and it hasn't worked out.
