well, we're not wanting to have an official ceremony there. we just want a small religious ceremony there so a few of her friends and relatives can be there since they can't afford to come to the US for the wedding here. we don't want to sign any legal documents there making it official. we kinda want it under the radar, so to speak.
thanks dg. I've been searching for churches in jakarta on google. my fiancee is going to try to find one when she can too.
-
my fiancee and I are considering on having a religious ceremony in Jakarta but not having it official until arriving the US on a k-1 and just getting married in court. is this possible or even legal?
btw. does anyone from Jakarta, or who has been to Jakarta know where a Church of Christ is located? the past two times I've been there, my fiancee and I had no luck finding one.

I sent my I-129f last friday, and after a whole week I haven't heard anything yet. I checked with my bank earlier this afternoon and they said that the check has already been cashed. I've noticed here on alot of the timelines here that some people received the NOA1 within just a few days of sending their I-129f. should I give it a few more days or should I be worried?

does anyone here know where in Jakarta, Indonesia my fiancee can get her birth certificate and police certificate officially translated so she can present them to the embassy in Jakarta?
-
I've got almost everything set except for the sponsorship info and I-134. but I don't send that with the I-129F until I get the NOA2, right?
-
ok. so how about she write it like this? from: 09 1992 to: now n/a. ? would that work?
-
what is she just leaves that part blank and after she prints it, write "present" on it with a pen. would that be ok? or would just leaving it blank be ok? since they will see the matching address she previously wrote for her present address.
-
yeah. she's trying that. she's typing it out instead of filling it out with pen or pencil. she's trying to write "present" on the date, but it won't let her. what should we do for the date?
-
my fiancee is a bit confused right now on a part of the form. under the part of "applicants last address outside the United States for more than one year", can she just write "present address" instead of her whole address since she's lived there for 15 years. plus her address is way too long to fit in that part

I also have a question concerning the I-134 and didn't want to have to create a new thread.
I don't send the I-134 and following evidence with the I-129F, correct? I send it to my fiancee after I receive the NOA2, right?

has anyone had their interview there yet? how was the interview? was it difficult? I've heard it's easier than others.

would this work?
"To whom it may concern:
This letter is an attachment regarding question 18 of the I-129F I have filed for my fiancée. In April 2007, we were introduced to each other online through yahoo messenger. In May 2008, I flew to Jakarta, Indonesia and met her and spent two weeks there together with her. After my trip to Indonesia, she applied for a tourist visa to visit me in the US, but was denied due to ties (or a lack thereof) to her country. So, in April 2009, I flew back to Jakarta to meet her again and spent next 3 weeks with her. On April 1, I proposed to her and she accepted. Now we are filing for a K-1 visa in hopes of her being able to move the US with me and for us to spend the rest of our lives together."
Submit copies of your boarding passes and passport stamps from these trips, and some photos of you together, and you're good to go.
great! I've already got all of that done except copies of my passport. I will get to that closer I get to mailing the package.

thanks! that sure does save me from having to write an essay about our entire love story. hehe
-
how long should the letter be? how much detail should I provide?
-
thanks! and one more thing. for her address, it doesn't ask for the postal code. should she add it anyways?
bump!

thanks! so, should she write her family name under "all other names used" even though she's never been previously married?
-
my fiancee is trying to fill out on the g-325a, but she's come to a bit of a snag. she doesn't know whether or not to write her last name under "family name" or "all other names used" because her father didn't include the family name on her birth certificate. so should she include her actual family name or write her middle name as her family name as it appears on her passport?
-
I read the guide and it said to include copies of money orders used for paying the fee along with other documents copied. but what if I pay with a personal check? should I include a copy of the personal check? or is that even legal?
-
ah, ok. thanks for the tips. I'll tell her about it later tonight.

great. does that mean she'll have to print it herself, fill it out, and then mail it to me? the Indonesian postal service isn't quite as fast as the USPS.
