OK -- Well he wasnt given a 221g -- only a receipt to pick up the visa.

He was not asked to sign the DS156K (uh OHH???)

The agent told him when he returns for the visa he will also receive an envelope that should not be opened and is to be given when he enters the USA along with the Xray (good news!!).

I'm sure the 8 days is for security clearance ... what do y'all think?

About to begin phase two of the K1 process. Margarita and I were married on Valentine's Day in Yachats, Oregon right on the coast. Now it's time to start the AOS.

So how is everyone doing?

Hi folks,

I am so trying not to give on this process, but the waiting is truely eating me up. So, as we wait for an answer on the K-1 I have mentally prepared myself that I may have to file CR-1 in worst case scenario. I want to hear from people who filed K-1 and did not get approved and were sucessful with CR-1 or succeeded finally with a refile of K-1. I will not give up on this process, but to hear people that have gotten success at the end will instill some more hope in me. Also, its good to know that people went through same situation and finally reunited with their loved ones. This process really drains all the energy out of you doesnt' it? I would love to hear your happy endings , if you care to share . For all of us waiting it would be wonderful to hear some good success stories.

now that we are planing to get married on 14th Feb 2010, is there any chance i can apply for EAD before wedding and if yes then what is the procedure?

Speaking of sitting on your bum.. Anyone know of any airline sales? I heard Virgin Atlantic was going on sale but it doesnt seem to have. One awesome thing I've been thinking about is UK to an eastern city like New York and Boston. THEN a $99 one way ticket from NYC or $154 from Boston.. courtesy Jet Blue!! Anyone else have any ideas about getting the tickets for cheap?

My POE Experience

I cant wait for him to be here already with our daughter!! She misses him terribly!! This morning when we woke up she looked at the pictures of him on our wall, cried and pointed and said babaaa(father in arabic)...... It is soo sad

InshaAllah he will be with you soon. Tell him to get the Translated Birth Certificate ASAP and submit that. The embassy people approved our case just after two days once i submitted my new passport which they asked for at the time of interview.

They didn't require vaccines for mine. Which I thought was a bit odd. Mine didn't even have vaccine records. Embassy told him vaccines not a requirement for k1 visa ...(he will probably have to get them for AOS) ...but still! I wonder if every embassy has their own rules when it comes to vaccines.

It took mine about 3 days to get the official translation by a government certified notary type for all his documents that needed it (police record, civil, birth etc).

They dont require Vaccine records at the time of interview. They need it for AOS. But the doctor who did my medicals told me itz better to get the vaccines here in India only and take the records with you to USA for AOS as that will save you a lot of Money. I got 3 vaccines done for under $50. I have heard medicines and doctors are super expensive in USA.

Aww Zahid, I am so happy for you! I thought I had a long journey ahead of me on the 28th (24 hours altogether) but 30 hours! Wow - that's all I can say.. but yes, so worth it when you can be with your sweetheart afterwards! I hope you'll have a smooth POE and a comfortable flight, even thought it's a long one Keep us posted as soon as you feel up to it, you know we'd love to hear all about your POE, first days with your girl etc

Ohhhh and Marie! I can't believe you skipped AP, that's excellent news! Even though you waited for the NOA2 for so long, it seems as if everything after that has been more speedy - and good for you! It's no fun being without our guys! Soon you'll be with him, january is right around the corner

And as for myself, I am finally starting to get a bit nervous about the flight over to the US. I am not the biggest fan of being on an airplane, but I am trying to be a good sport about it. It's all worth it once I'm with him

So here is the Update. I am making a move tomorow to USA to be with my love.

New Delhi to EWR (15 h 25 m flight) connecting time 3 h 17 mins at EWR airport (enought time to do POE formalities)

EWR to DEN ( 4 h 42 m flight) connecting time 1 h 30 mins at DEN Airport

DEN to EUG ( 2 h 53 m flight) connecting time with my love forver

Total of 30 hr journey. I know i will be super tired but all is wortn it when i will get some nice massage with some good cooked food at home

Im right there with ya! Damo flies to Sydney tomorrow afternoon as his interview is at 8am aus time on tues. And thats at 1pm seattle time on monday. I bought me a bottle of wine to get me through today and tomorrow. hahaha. Im so freaking out! lol. :bonk: :bonk:

Yay Zahid!!! many many congrats! Im so nervous, our interview is on Monday (his tuesday). He has it at 8 am, so thats 1pm on Monday pst for me! No way am I going to be able to work that day rofl. OMG its in three days lol. I just froze when I thought that. I hope above all hopes that it goes ok!
