Why do you guys think that when I called Ciudad Juarez.....they guy told me that the letter would be sent to my gf in mexico. He said that the system was showing that......so does that mean I will not get one here in the U.S.? I told him that the mail in Mexico is sloooooooow and he didnt seem to care or know.
Thanks everyone,
-
Genny, Chinman or anyone else,
What did ya'll put for question 11 on I-134?
This is what I will have on mine....you can also look at the one under example forms.
N/A ( K1 visa process for permanent residence )-------under description
and do not check any box.
I hope that helps,
Take care,
Ernesto

HEY CHECK THIS OUT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CALLED CIUDAD JUAREZ JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE FINISHED PROCESSING OUR CASE.....THAT THE LETTER WILL BE MAILED OUT IN 10 DAYS....THEN I ASKED HIM WHERE THE LETTER WOULD BE SENT AND THE GUY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE SENT TO MY GF ADDRESS IN MEXICO,,,,,,BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD ALSO GET ONE IN THE MAIL....
DO YOU GUYS KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?
I ASKED THE GUY IF WE COULD GO ALREADY....BUT HE SAID THAT ONLY AFTER THE LETTER HAD BEEN SENT AND THAT 30 DAYS HAD PASSED AND WE STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED IT.......
ANY GUIDANCE ON THIS?
IM A SO HAPPY THAT THEY FINALLY GAVE ME VERY GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY
Congratulations!!
But I have to admit I am SUPER jealous. I called DOS today and they told me Juarez still hasn't received my paper work yet. I was like #######. I knew they had so I wasn't worried. I called a second time to DOS and a nicer lady told me Juarez was still processing my case. I wish I had an invitation letter too. UGGGGHHHHH
You know, they told me the same thing.....and decided to call Juarez again after 1 week and a few days after last time I called....then they informed me that they were done processing our case......heck I might just get it over with and run over there........im tired of waiting.
Good luck though and have patience (i know, we dont have it anymore)
Take care,
Ernesto

Well now we are still waiting. DHL only says "Shipment Acknowledged yesterday (tues) at 11:43 am, but nothing else. Marisela got approved later in the day, but already has her visa in hand? What's up with that?
Can you ask how she got it the same day? Maybe if you ask for it nicely
Ciao,
Ernesto

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Thanks everyone! We are ready, and that's all we can do is prepare. We practiced all the questions, and I have everything organized in a binder, with divider pockets, we also practiced finding the documents they will be asking for.
Just wanted to mention that they told her to come back at 2:00 to get the medical results, but we got there at 1:30 and they are already started to let people go around back to get their results.
If Juarez wasn't on the news for violence (don't turn on the news when you're here) I would swear I was in Monterrey, to walk to the consulate and back is not bad, and we went to the mall across the street a couple times today, so just go where you need to go, be alert, and you'll be fine!
I'm sorry that he is still waiting for DHL, how come some people get it the same day?
That is a DHL issue, I'm pretty sure his visa was ready since friday or yesterday because was weekend ... DHL guy told me the process and admited that sometimes they have "little delays" to pick them up from Consulate ... unfortunately we don't have choice or way to know where the visa is.
Do you guys know if we can pay extra at DHL to get the Visa delivered faster....in other words, if DHL offers different delivery options?
Is this DHL the same DHL we know here in the U.S.?
Thanks much,
Ernesto
As far as I know, no options ... we are not that special!!
Yeah, but my gf can ask and see what they say

Ernesto,
You should really pay attention to up coming holidays. There are quite a few in November. I know on Nov. 16th they are closed. November is not the best month to go to Juarez, but what choice do we have.
Andrea
Andrea,
You are right about that. Why are they closed Nov. 16th? I know Nov. 20th is Revolution Day. But yeah, I am really watching out for those....for instance...I know I will not go during Thanksgiving week. Juarez observes both U.S. and Mexico holidays.
btw, I like the way your are thinking.....that we are very likely to go during next month (November). Hopes are free after all.
-
Ernesto,
I figured I would wait as well. I don't have plans on going until the 16th so I figured I will have it by then. When do you plan on going?
Andrea,
I think we should be able to get it by then..hopefully. I plan on going ASAP after I get the letter since we have everything. Most likely a week after or so.
I want to get there on Sunday so that we can go to the medical on Monday....and interview on Tuesday....then give it Tuesday, Wed., Thursday, and Friday in case my gf waits for the visa at DHL.
-
Ernesto,
I called NVC today and they said our case was still pending. Tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks. I think I will give it a few more days and then call NVC and Juarez.
Andrea
Andrea,
Yeah, last time I called Juarez was about 2 weeks ago. I called NVC last week, and still got the rude/mean ladies on the phone telling me the same thing. So, I will probably call Juarez this Friday (maybe, im getting a little tired of hearing the same thing for $7 a call....sometimes it makes me think that they are saying the same so that I keep calling and getting charged....besides....if our case is processing or not....they don't care).
I MIGHT JUST WAIT FOR THE LETTER/PACKAGE TO GET TO MY MAIL AND NOT HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT. I DONT THINK IT SHOULD BE THAT LONG ANYWAY.
IT HURTS to find out that my gf will prob. not get her visa the same day. I will be going down there and so I will have to steal vacation days from next year. It depends though.
Take care everyone,
Ernesto

Isi,
I am not sure how much the shots cost in the US but I am sure Roberto is going to have to get some there. He is missing only about 3. Here in Juarez the shots he would have needed cost between 30 and 50 dollars each. They didn't even give him the option of shots because he was in a K1 line. They put K1 no vaccines on his letter from the very beginning in the morning. So when we get to KY he will get the shots there as soon as possible.
Margaret,
I am so happy we are at this hotel. It is so convenient and has free internet. We have gone back and forth between here and the clinic, the consulate and the mall for the past few days. I was so happy we stayed in a hotel this close when we forgot the copies of the DS 156.
Roberto has been in there for two and a half hours, which was just enough time to fill out most of the AOS forms
Genny
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU GUYS!!!!! AND WISH YOU THE BEST, I HOPE YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT A LONG TIME TO GET THE VISA.....
TODAY I CALLED NVC, INSTEAD OF JUAREZ, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT CIUDAD JUAREZ STILL HAS NOT RECEIVED THE 'PHYSICAL PAPER COPY'....THIS IS KILLING ME RIGHT NOW...WE WILL TRY AGAIN NEXT WEEK....
TAKE CARE AND KEEP US POSTED.

Alright,
Who is still waiting for Packet 3? or for Ciudad Juarez to finish processing?
We are still waiting for the famous "processing"
Thanks,
Ernesto
I also called NVC and they informed me that Ciudad Juarez has the electronic copy, but have not received the "paper copy"?!!!!
Does anyone know how that works? CJ tells me one thing(that they are processing our case) and NVC tells me the above. Please help....
Thanks,
Ernesto
Ernesto,
I think this is what they always say. The NVC knows nothing until the letter has been sent out from Juarez. Several of us called the NVC on a Thursday and the letter was sent out the day before. My advice is don't call Juarez anymore and waste your money. Just keep calling the NVC. In fact call tomorrow afternoon...you never know you might hear some great news!
Sandi
Thanks Sandi,
In other words, does NVC have access to the same information that Ciudad Juarez does? And so, NVC should be able to tell me if Ciudad Juarez has sent out the official letter/package 3? Ciudad Juarez keeps saying "Being Processed" and NVC just told me yesterday that the physical copy has not reached Ciudad Juarez yet. But you are right, I hate to be wasting money on bad news.
Take care,
Ernesto
Can you guys chat?

Ernesto,
I am still waiting for Juarez to process my packet as well. I figured 4-5 weeks should be plenty of time before I start bugging them. I read this has happened to many people NVC says one thing and Juarez says another. Try to be patient and you will receive your notice soon. Maybe we will end up in Juarez during the same time.
Genny,
GOOD LUCK. You and Roberto are in my prayers. Keep us updated.
Just keep us updated and I will do the same!!!!

Yeah, just a few more days! How is everything going for you? Where in the US are you?
I'm doing fine, thanks for asking ... just getting used to the weather that is very cold here at Missouri and according to my bf this is nothing, worse is comming
When are you going to Juarez?
Missouri???!!!
I am here in Northwest Arkansas and it is cold too!!!! but I've been here 10 years...I guess I'm used to it.
What city in Missouri?
Take care,
Ernesto

After receiving the visa and going to the bridge, do they have to cross over? Or do they just get the stamp and can go back to their house for their things and cross say in Laredo?
When I called Juarez, I asked them the question about what PoE would be once visa is received......all I got was that the officer will give you instructions if any once you get the visa....now it is immigration's problem to deal with.
Hope that helps....that is what I was told.

I called Juarez today,
And they informed me that our case is STILL PROCESSING
But how? why? it is almost a month (1 month in October 16th)
I might try to call next week again, I guess.....getting desperate here

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that my SO and I went to Juarez without the appt letter. I called on Friday Sept 18th and they said they finished processing our paperwork and that they would send a copy to my attorney etc. I repeated what she said just to make sure I had heard correctley and she said yes, you can come to Juarez. So I hopped on the bus and left for Mexico on Friday. We letf from Monterrey on Saturday night and arrived on Sunday afternoon. We checked into the hotel and around 6:30 the next morning we left for the information window at the consulate. I was so nervous that the trip would be for nothing. That they would tell us...sorry you need to wait til the appt letter is mailed to you. But no, they gave us a copy. I don't know why more people have not done this. it was such a relief and I was so excited
Hope this makes the wait a little shorter and best of luck to everyone
You guys were very brave to do that I think!!!
We are just waiting for the letter to come in...or at least I will call today to see if Juarez has finished processing..
I will keep updating this.....it is very interesting, but we hate to wait.
Chinman how long did it take for the letter to be delivered to your US address? in other words from when the consulate sent it to when you got it in the mail.
I dont think we want to go to Juarez if they say it is still processing........if they say "no" once there.....I would probably die if i say goodbye to my fiancee for the 5th time.....it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your support guys!!

How long does it take for Ciudad Juarez to process and send the official letter/packet 3 info?
When you call Juarez, they usually say like 3 months, but I know it is close to 1 month....is this true?
What have you guys been getting?
I am about to call the consulate today anyways....I just want for them to give us the green light/get done with processing.
Thanks,
Ernesto

Congrats epifreak!!!!
After all that stress before and during the interview and finally being approved I got back to the hotel to take a nap. When I woke up it was around 2 and I checked the DHL website and to my surprise the VISA was ready and waiting for me. I just got back from going and picking it up. I'm just so surprised about how lightning fast the interview and getting the visa was. The medical was another story but whatever it's done.
To answer some of the recent questions.
They are still not using the DS-160.
They did ask me for the DS-157.
At the clinic you can pay with pesos or dollars for the medical exam.
For the visa fee at the bank you have to use pesos.
Regarding the questions about the interview. It's pretty much what everyone have posted. In my case it was very fast. I think it was that fast because we sent a huge I-129F that the interviewer was reviewing. The only thing extra he asked were pictures. That was my case, either way come prepared with lots of things.
Cheers everyone and good luck!
Here someone who went in May was asked for the DS-157.
Whew, thanks Andrea,
Roberto and I just filled it out over Skype. Recently all of our dates are over immigration forms. How romantic
Yeah, it seems like immigration issues is all we talk about lately.
Sorry, I realized my mistake after it was too late to edit.
immigration issues are all we talk about lately.
One quick question is everyone using Holiday Inn Express?
Hey guys,
Have you received any update on your Ciudad Juarez processing? No package yet?
I will be calling today to check on ours.
Keep us updated. I guess you have decided to go sometime November...it might be the same thing for us.
Thanks,
Ernesto

I have not had a chance to read you comments regarding this matter, but I will later. I have only heard of one case that a guy went with his family before they gave him the green light. I know he had a thread it was something like Weird way to get a Visa. He was VERY lucky!!! I would not risk it, but that is me personally because there is so much money involved in the whole process and my SO lives in Queretaro so it isn't very close to Juarez. I just want to make one trip there. I would advise you to wait for the Consulate to give you the green light. I know it is hard waiting, but we are almost there. I am confident that I will hear something by the end of the month. Maybe we will end up at Juarez at the same time since our time lines are so close.
Andrea
Si gracias Andrea,
Espero que sigamos en contacto.
I will let you know when I get something. Please keep me posted too. I added you as friend.
Take care and God Bless!!

Ok, thank you so much for your advice.
I will call them and we go from there.

Yeah, I guess we just have to wait and see. He did say, however, that it would be sent either in 10 days or that it would take 10 days to deliver (I couldn't remember what that was).
How long did it take you guys to receive the letter in the U.S. after it was sent from Ciudad Juarez (after processing)?
Thanks,
