  1. Hi I am currently married but after a few trips to jamaica I met up with an old boyfriend and I cheated. I have been going back an forth to see him for almost 2 years. Me and husband have decided not to be together anymore but since he is not a citizen i agreed to stay marriend to him so we can finish up the paperwork (we originially were married for love). My problem is now I am pregnant (its not my husbands) I want the father to get a tourist visa in order for him to see the birth of his child but I don't know if he will because he doesn't have alot of ties in Jamiaca he owns a house and has another son but thats it. Its not like i would marry him once he gets here cause legally I can't I just want him to be here for the birth and then go back

  2. My fiance is not familiar with this process so I want everything to go smoothly my question are as followed

    1)do i need both the DS-156 and DS-156K

2)Does anyone know the fee for both these application

    3) can i have the forms filled before and have it ready when NOA2 comes through to save time

  3. thanks so much i told her she should just fly down i offered to pay her way but is it ok file as soon as she gets back i mean they are in love i have met him plenty of times because he is friends with my husband who lives in jamaica

  4. Just a quick question my sister met her current fiance 5 years ago when he was working in the u.s on a work visa he went back to jamaica october of 2007 they didnt talk for 2 years until July 2009 when she got his number from a friend they talked on the phone but have not seen him since he was here she wants to petition for a fiance visa but she is havin a problem getting around the requirment of having seen him in 2 years she is currently in school and working full time and does not have the extra money to fly to jamaica does anyone advice she has telephone records dating all the way back to 2010 she lost the western union records when she moved the last time he has a letter she wrote him back in 2009 people know about the relationship

  5. Moved from USCIS Service Centers to General Immigration-Related Discussion

    I have two questions:

    • Have you filed an I-130 to start the spousal visa process?
    • Is his tourist visa still valid?

He went back home last week and his visa was valid unitl April 3rd and i have not started the process i didnt kno if i wanted to do the k3 or ir-1/cr-1 because he needs to get here quicker because he has a job waiting for him

  6. I hope the decision i made doesn't bite me in the ####. My ex boyfriend surprised me by getting a tourist visa towards the end of his stay he proposed i said yes and we married 2 weeks later. he went back to Jamaica before his tourist visa was up. i am now confused about what happens next since we were married here can he come back here while he awaits his visa or did i just screw up really bad.

  7. I am getting married on October 15 in portmore JA. when i file for the visa and he gets apporved (god hoping) does he have to get a new social security number or can he keep the one he had before if its still valid. He was in teh states on a work visa for 2 years (thats how i met him) do they take into account his previous stay here on whether or not to approve it I really don't want to pay some lawyer its not in the budget so i really need as much first hand expereince on this as possible

  8. You can't actually have any kind of wedding IN Jamaica BEFORE you have the US wedding if you want him to come on a K-1.

And, you better ask him who he thinks will come.....not who he wants to invite......parties in JA often turn out a LOT bigger then you would expect.

Yeah i decided to get a CR1 because he really wants his mom and sisters there he is more family oriented than i am...he does have a load of family so im going to have to stress that im not doing a wedding/dancehall ya kno but the only people coming with me from the states is my best friend and her husband who is also the best friend of my fiance and my other close friend

  9. I am currently a student in school and my income is not up to standards how do i go about getting a co-sponsor. and I'm making plans to go visit my fiance soon because it has been awhile since we seen each other (we met in 2007) lost touch and started speaking again in 2009 through telephone calls does the embassy frown upon me not seeing him as much as everyone else has I get really nervous about this because of financial issues i was not able to see him as often.

  10. If your fiance is a Jamaican resident his interview will be in Kingston. It's always good to attend the interview because it just looks good, but several people have been approved without their other half being present.

Thanks alot I just get so nervous because I want everything to go right my biggest fear is the I-134 I didn't make alot of money over the past few years because I was a student is there anyway around that poverty guideline and if there is not can I get a co sponser

  11. I meet my future husband in the US when he was on a work visa he was actually renting a room right next to my room. we ending up knowing the same friend and he kind of pushed us together and I thank my friend everyday for that. have been trying to get him here but my financial situation is not where it should be so Im working on it and pray that everything works out for the best

  12. 1. My honey and his family (but most of all HIM)

    2. I gotta go with Mrs. P on the sitting by the ocean feeling the breeze blow against you, drinking a cold beer and watching the kids play, fisherman fish, etc....It is so relaxing and special to sit there with Richard talking about everything in the world or doing absolutely nothing at all but being in his arms.

    3. Guiness and Red Bull can be ordered and no funny looks and being asked "Mixed together?" LOL

Just experiencing the culture and everything about it is amazing and somehting I enjoy doing and look forward to each time I visit. Realizing that we as American's take way to much for granted (IMO)

I'm not a true yardie but i love me some guiness and red bull and ppl do look at me funny

  13. Just a few questions I am a student in school now i work part time with the income requirements for a fiancee visa i get veteran benefits for being a dependent of a veteran so that is what covers my rent and stuff do they look down upon that. also when i first send off paperwork for the k1 visa what do i need to include and how much do i have to send off to get the first noa

you need your birth certificate or copy of your passport . letter of intent from both of you . g325 for both of you passport size photos to accompany the g325 form i129f form i included pictures of us and his itinerary from his flight here, his paystub those items being our prook of having met in person to double check go to guides and click on k1

thanx also what could be easier my mom is paying for our wedding but is very on the fence about him she dont wanna fly to ja with me to meet him is a tourist visa ok and how long does that usually take to get approved if he only gonna be here for like a few weeks btw since he dont work and i do i thought it would be easier so at least i would not have to take the time off and that could be the proof of having seen each other in 2 years

Did you met him in Jamaica? You could always try the tourist visa...it's like hit or miss I guess. Have you seen him in person in the last two years? Which part of Jamaica does he live?

i met him in america he was my roomate when he was on his workers visa and he lives in spanish town

  14. do you kno the percentage i mean i only want him to stay for like 2 or 3 weeks im not trying to jepordize his chances of getting the fiancee in the future if i have him stay for too long ya kno

the embassy can be quite unpredictable

has he ever had a visitor's visa before

is he employed? what kind of job?

does he have assets, family, some other evidence to show he has ties to jamaica?

does he have family abroad? how many? what relation?

those are the types of things he will have to address to get a visitor's visa

he has a son and his mom lives in jamaica he has never had a visitors visa before but he had workers visa
