  1. Hi friends I have been approved to have a CR1 visa and now getting ready to fly, I know i have to give my passport with visa together with the xray CD and visa packet at the point of entry. My question "Is there anything they need to give to me aside from stamping my passport?"

I just want to make sure that I wont miss anything and I'm knowledgeable about things that happen at the point of entry. thank you

  2. Hi,

Does US Emabassy manila sends a packet with your interview date and medical appointment for CR-1 ?

I got the email from the NVC but didn't see my medical appointment date ,though I know one can have it in advance which I plan to do.

And on the 5 page attachement document that I recieved from the NVC, one of the pages is not intended for me, it has another name and another case number,:wacko: .Shall I call/email NVC about this?

I have been a member of this site for 3 years. Aside from my cousin (Bratikicks) whom I didn't know is a member of this site as well until we see each other in Idaho, I met another VJ member as well here in our area.

    Her display name is sweet_angel.

Them at the left side (red girl), and my husband and I (gray) in the right side.

Saya ,this is a good pic

  4. We stayed at Pearl Garden...about a block and a half from Robinson's. It is pretty much right across from Pan Pacific. We stayed at Lotus Garden and it was ok, but the time we stayed there it got really loud in the hallway about 3-4am.

Thanks....I don't want to be awaken at 3 AM

  5. Here are the hotels where I stayed at;

    1. Diamond Hotel - Where my husband and I stayed at during his (all) trips in PI. Very nice, staffs are courteous, excellent service and food, safe but quite expensive so I won't recommend this one unless you are with your husband.

    2. Lotus Garden - I stayed there during my medical, it's not as pretty as City Garden but it was OK.

    3. City Garden - I stayed in this hotel during my interview, it was clean, so quite and I felt safe and relax like I was in Diamond. I think coz they put me in Deluxe room even I just paid for standard one.

    4. Cherry Blossom - Boy, I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. The facility is not that clean, stink inside, the room is so tiny even the restaurant (if that's what they call), food sucks and I didn't feel safe the entire (2) nights during my stay there before I departed PI. I thought that was a waste of money. My bad, coz again, I wanted to try a different one. Lol!

However, all of these hotels are just a few blocks away from the Robinson mall, restaurants and St. Luke's.

Thanks for the list...cherry blossom is out of my list now!

  6. During m stay in Manila during medical exam, I stayed at Cherry Blossom Hotel. It is just a few blocks from SLEC, and just a few steps from Robinson's where I ate most of my meals.

During my embassy interview, I stayed at Mabini Mansion. It is just a walking distance from the embassy, and affordable too.

    I checked Mabini Mansion's website,looks good

  7. If you want to save money, the Blackstump Hotel (+63(2)5238167) has rooms for approx. P1300/night, it's at the corner of Padre Faura & Del Pilar, just a couple blocks from USEM and a few blocks from Robinson's. I stayed there last summer and was quite happy. It's not the Hilton, but the rooms have A/C, fridge, and there's a nice indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge with decent food. The rooms in front have a good street view, or if you want peace & quiet then request one of the back rooms.

Another good place is 1775 Adriatico Suites (www.adriaticosuites.com), an apartelle in Malate near Remedios Circle. I have stayed there as well, it's really nice, the rooms are suites and have A/C, fridge, cooking utensils, etc. It's a little farther from USEM (5 min taxi ride, P7 jeepney, or get some exercise and walk along the waterfront), and it's at a better location for restaurants and entertainment. I paid $495 for 15 days (about $33/night), much less expensive for a hotel of comparable quality.

Wow adraiaticosuites seems very nice !!!

Thanks Johnny and AKteacher. It's always nice to hear from the "real people" who stayed in those places and not just going to websites with customer reviews.Photos in websites are sometimes misleading.

Congrats to Johnny and gudluck to us AKteacher.

  9. Wow so many choices  but will check them all online thanks. Thanks VJ friends . It's always the BEST to HEAR from the people that stayed from the hotel itself than just rely on different hotel websites.

      - Police Certificate/s from the countries you stayed in for 6 months or more.
Other identification papers that were asked from other applicants

      - Plane Ticket

      -Pictures together
      TIPS in organizing your documents:
      1. Make your documents look very presentable and clutter-free. Your organization will make it easy for you and the consul. You may even win some smiles from the grumpiest Filipino interviewers and consuls!
      2. Use side tabs for easy reference.
      3. Use color-coding, but avoid neons!
      4. Use button fasteners, instead of long fasteners.
      5. DO NOT stack your papers too thick. They will not pass through the slot. Maximum thickness should be half an inch. And make sure that the stack will be flexible enough, as they will be bent when passing though the slot.
      6. DO NOT use hard-bound covers, hard side binders, and thick photo-albums. In fact, drop the idea. You might earn the ire of a grumpy Filipino interviewer if your documents and photos are in hard covers, and you would find yourself taking them out from the binder one at a time.
      7. Use paper clips if you dont have plastic separates. Plastic separates are ideal for thick stack of papers like affidavit of support papers (if you don’t want to put them in folders), snail mails and cards, identification documents, and other papers that you need to take out in haste.
      8. Know where your documents are! Dont mix your proof of relationship documents with the financial documents.
      9. Your documents should be COMPLETE! Some applicants left the embassy in tears, and were put in AR because they lacked important documents.
<br style=""> Be confident enough, don't be so stressful, tell the truth, give your best and lastly ALWAYS PRAY...

    GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you

  13. Hi VJ friends,

I got my interview date today and it will be on June 1.

Is there a link/topic here in VJ wherein I can use as reference on how I can best present my documents to the CO.

I know there are lots of successful/easy interview experiences with proper document preparation/presentation from the members in their interview

    Thank you in advance

  14. Well this happen to someone (white guy) I know in the net also. We were chatting once in a while and he was very excited about someone he met in the Philippines from which I remembered was living in Tagum City.. and he was asking me if I have any idea where the province is. He did told me that the girl was poor (typical story) and he was sending her some money to help. I asked him if he already seen the girl on cam, and he said "No". I thought it was so stupid of him to send some money without actually seeing the girl, and he said that he trust her    . To cut the story short, he shared me the girl's pictures and to my surprised it was Juliana Palermo.. ( a sexy star in the Philippines.)

I simply asked him if the girl was being true to her, and he said he's definitely sure. The guy was being scammed big time so what I did, is I've sent him a link of a website with the same pictures on it. He was really furious and thank me for that..

    STAR STRUCK :star:
