  1. Ok!!! I have been touched again  ... (10/28/2010 - 10/29/2010- 11/2/2010)

I wish that the USCIS would just send us an approval letter SOON! I have been checking the website to see if they just sent us a letter without updating the website but no luck as yet! So I have been check the USCIS website each day to see if there was any change and yes they are looking but we have not gotten the APPROVAL yet!

I pray that we receive it tonight or tommorow! Please keep your well wishes and your prayers coming!

Not sure what they mean when they touch it. Hopefully there isn't any problems and you get approved this week.

Lots of luck to you! :star:

  2. Hi everyone,

I was redirected this thread. Last night I started a thread in the main discussion and didn't know about this thread here.

I also filed last April and we're still waiting to get our approval. Hopefully it will be soon.

Good to see other people are in the same boat. Even though I still feel lost in a sea of confusion.

Thankfully we have this forum so that we can navigate the choppy waters. :P

    All the best,

    Michael

  3. Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since I posted here. Hope you are doing well.

I filed the I-130 petition on April 16, 2010 and got the NOA on April 23rd.

It's been 5 months and we're still waiting for the approval from USCIS. This is taking way too long and I'm wondering why it's taking so long.

Has anybody else filed in the same month and received their approval? Or are you still waiting?

Should I call the office and find out what's going on? What's the best way to get through?

Any helpful advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Michael

  4. I can attest to this. I bought a ticket through orbitz that combined Delta and a second airline. Needless to say, it was a disaster. The second airline changed the time of my departure but instead of entering January 2 2010, someone put January 2 2009, even though we were now in December of 2009. Well, Delta's computers froze because of the mistake and the other airline refused to acknowledge its errors. Delta did everything to correct the problem that they could (winning them a very loyal customer), but the other airline refused to acknowledge its error. Orbitz, as the seller, should have worked to resolve the problem, but refused to do anything and when the Delta agent tried to talk to a Orbitz supervisor, she hung up on him. After helping me out for over 5 hours, the Delta agent finally managed to resolve the problem, but I missed my original flight and arrived a couple of days late. If the price is the same or even a bit more, I buy directly from Delta now.

I also agree with this. One time I flew out of Saigon on Shanghai Airlines and it was late getting to the airport in Shanghai. I missed my flight which was on Delta. All the ticket agents for Delta went home, so I had to deal with Shanghai airlines, they put me in a hotel outside the airport. Then I had to catch the Delta flight the next day. It was a bit nerve wracking to say the least.

Now I prefer same airlines with the connection flights. Just like I have now with EVA which will take me from Seattle to Taiwan, then to Vietnam. Last time I flew with them, they had a slight delay. By the time I got off the plane in Taiwan, they already had ticket agents awaiting us with new boarding passes for the next flight. Those Taiwanese people are efficient!

  5. I just got a reservation from Seattle to Vietnam for $1620.00, flying out on July 7. Got it through a VN travel agent from DC. I wished I could get something cheaper, but it's the best she could do for me.

I'm gonna do some more searching this weekend and try to find something better.

    Good luck!

    -michael

  6. A family member was just telling me she read somewhere that if my wife got a new visa she would only have 4 months to enter the United States. I thought it was a 6 month period.

Does anyone know if this has changed? Is the visa good for 4 month or 6 month?

I know its a little early for this, I just wanted to have the information.

    Much thanks,

    michael

  7. We are in a similar situation. We had our K-1 denied in October 2009 and decided to get married and file for a CR-1 visa request.

I got the "Notice of Decision" from the USCIS informing that the K-1 case was officially closed. After that I sent the I-130 form and two weeks later I got the "Notice of Action" letter.

Now we are waiting to find out if it has been approved. Does anyone know the average wait time for an approval on the I-130 form?

    Thanks,

    Michael

  8. Okay, I found a link with info on NVC - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3180.html

    Here's what I found on that page;

How much are the fees for the National Visa Center’s Services?

The Affidavit of Support Fee is $70. The Immigrant Visa Fee is $355 and the Security Enhancement Fee is $45.

What the heck is "Security Enhancement Fee"?

Oh yes they are updating it for like 6 hours today...forgot about that so sorry, IV stands for Immigrant Visa which you will need the form ds230 for and for the AOS, yes that's affidavit of support and that's the i864 form. Take a look at the forms, so maybe you can start getting some stuff gathered for them, your taxes etc. Accompanying the ds230 is when your wife will mail her birth certificate, police records etc. And the medical will be for the beneficiary. Good Luck and let me know if you need any more help :)

Okay, cool. Thanks a bunch!!

  9. After and "IF" the approve your i-130...they will forward your case to the NVC. The NVC will collect $70 for the AOS and $400 for the IV bill. Then the medical exam will cost at least $100 and maybe some other fees too. Take a visit to the National Visa Center and read up when you have free time =)

Thanks for your reply to this.

I'm assuming that "AOS" stands for Affidavit Of Support. Is this right?

Now what is the IV bill? The medical exam is for my wife, right?

I have about twenty minutes to kill, so I'm heading over to the NVC site

I just went over to their site www.nationalvisacenter.com

    and it's "Under Construction"!!

  10. Okay, I've been searching this forum for a clear answer to this.

Before, when I filed a I-129F petition I had to submit four copies of the G-325A biographic forms. Four from me and four from my fiance at the time. Since our case has been closed, we went ahead and got married while I was recently visiting her in Vietnam.

So now we're starting the CR-1 visa process. Is it different this time around? Seems like they changed to only one copy each.

So, just to be absolutely clear.

Is it four copies each? or is it one copy each?

    thanks in kind,

    Michael :)
