I just need help and can't wait the answer!!!!

We made a reservation for my Mom to travel USA on feb 4 but the problem is the CFO seminar. It's not done yet! We're planning to send her in Manila a day before her departure so that she can attend the seminar but I talked to my friend yesterday and she had the same case with mine IR5. Her mother arrived last Dec. '09 and she mentioned to me that the CFO is different than 5 years ago. 5 years ago it was easy now you have to make a reservation and she said she emailed CFO two weeks before her Mom's departure and she got an email stating there's no available, you have to wait for 4 weeks. And she told them that's not gonna happen because we already bought the ticket so her Mom went to CFO the day her departure date and her Mom said she was begging deeply and they let her in. The other people tried and they didn't let them in. Her Mom said she was just sooo lucky.My friend said they won't let you in unless you have an appointment letter. So just wondering if the parents are just allowed @ CFO Citigold or can they just go to either PRISM or St Mary?

By the way,We came here as fiancee visa and we're now a US Citizens. My friend lives in other state. We just met in Manila because we got the same schedule during our case. We talked a little bit and exchanged phone numbers. And now we're friends. And we left the same week too...

But anyway, my problem is I just want to know if there's any parents that experienced to go to CFO without appointment?

I checked the CFO website and it's saying that you need to make a reservation. And I made a reservation for my Mom on Feb 3 and it's showing there's an available slots but then I have to wait 3 working days for the confirmation. The ticketing deadline for my mother's airline ticket is Monday @1200 noon. I don't know what to do? Do we have to wait or just go ahead and buy the ticket? The ticket is a good deal. $656 from MNL-DFW PAL/AA. And we dont want to change it anymore. I already asked for my vacation so that I can spend some time with my Mom. And now there's a problem and hoping there's a solution for this..

Do we have to make a reservation like what it says in the website? Can my Mother go @ PRISM? My friends says she tried to make a reservation for her Mother two weeks before her departure and they sent her an email that there's no available until next four weeks. We're trying to bring my Mother her on Feb 04. She lives in Mindanao. I made a reservation online but I have to wait 3 days before I heard anything. So I am thinking to give them a call this Monday. Do you know what time their open please? thanks!

That's where I had my CFO seminar a day after my interview before going back to Cebu. I think PRISM conducts the CFO seminar three times a day and they accommodate as many people as they can. They only require two valid IDs. I showed my original postal ID and TIN and handed them the photocopies. PRISM used to admit those who just have their NBI clearance or birth certificate (I don't know if they still do until now). Fee: Php 250

The talk endured for about an hour, there was a very brief Q&A vis-a-vis with the counselor (she asked me two simple questions), and next was picture-taking for the yellow certificate. In less than two hours, I was already out of the building with my yellow certificate. I didn't go to St. Mary's because Quezon City is quite far from the hotel (where I stayed) near the Embassy.

The last instructions given by PRISM: Just go to the CFO Manila Office once you have your visa. Pay Php 400, present two valid IDs (photocopied) and bring your yellow certificate from PRISM. There was no queue when I went and after paying and a few minutes of waiting in CFO Citigold, I already had my sticker and the green certificate and so ready to fly to LAX.

I am posting this because I had an easy and fast CFO experience. May you all have the same, too. You don't have to go to QC. I am not familiar with Manila and I went by myself to two different locations to complete the CFO but it was a fun adventure. I was thinking that Cebu makes it one whole day (that's no way for me!) while St. Mary's is far.

They've submitted the additional requirements so we're still waiting. So where did they registered at? Only in CFO Manila (Citigold)? That's good if immigrants won't attend seminars and just register themselves like you've said..

congrats!!! where did they do their seminar at? according to my mom, they cannot do advance seminar for immigrants.they have to wait until their visa arrives..

thank you! Only fiancee and spouse needs to do seminar. The Immigrant such as parent they just need to register their selves and get the sticker. And pay P400. They can't register until they have the visa on hand. So how's your parents case now Mooninlove?

update my case again!Mama got her visa on hand yesterday(Monday). She got an interview last thursday and they delivered the visa last Saturday and she's still in Manila. That's so fast! I was amazed! But happy to know that though!

Congratulations jmari...so wen is ur mom coming over? My dad is march 25 coz of the winter...embassy is so fast ha my dads interview on Jan 8 and visa received Jan. 11. Do u think they still need 2 attend CFO seminar?

Mama is coming on March 4. I researched and found out they just need to register and pay P400 and get the sticker. They don't need to have the seminar. And they have to go to the CFO 2 days before the departure. Called the travel agency in Manila and some are required of CFO sticker. Where did you buy your ticket if you don't mind? And how much? thanks.

I just want to let you know that my Mother got her interviewed done yesterday and got approved!! It was 0830 in the morning and she said that the consul was so nice to him and he asked few questions like what's the petitioner's job, where do you intended to live in the US? If do we have a child/children? What's my husband's name and job? So we're so happy that it's done, finally! Thank you all!

just to update my case!

My Mother got her interview done yesterday and it was approved!!!We're so happy! Mama was so excited!! She already paid the carrier and just waiting for her visa. Thank you all!!

Good luck to your parents interview on thursday.Don't worry,Interview by consul is just easy as 1,2,3.My parents done their interview last 21 December

2009.Basis questions like what is your petitioner's work,place they travel outside the country and pictures of them together.

It won't last 15 minutes.

My parents will be leaving the country by 22 January 2010 bound MLA-LAX.

The Consul only asked 3 questions: Who petitioned you? When did they (me and my hubby) got married? How many kids do they have & how old are they?. After which the Consul check this and that. Afterwards the Consul gave them a verification sheet for them to acquire a new NBI clearance with aka and my BC from NSO because of the name difference in some docs. Upon returning those docs then they will resume the processing. They also returned their passports. I just don't know for how long this will may take. They went to NBI after the interview & also to the NSO Pasay and told them that my BC will be forwarded to the Embassy by tomorrow which is today..So still waiting here for a positive outcome..

Where in Manila can they get their tickets then? My parents went to their interview this morning but unfortunately they require them to submit my original BC from NSO & a new NBI clearance. They went to NSO and they told them it takes a day for them to forward it to the embassy. So they will go to embassy later tomorrow with those requirements and the Consul mentioned that upon receipt, they'll continue the processing. those were the only requirements missing. So i'm wondering how long will it be..anybody?

Hi Mooninlove! Just wondering what's the questions were asked during the interview. My Mother will have her interview this coming thursday. I am worried about her so I am searching about the questions to help her..if you don't mind sharing their experiences, thanks! About your case, I think it will be ok. I just don't know how long.

Hi! I asked Mama to bring 4 photo's and at St. Luke they didn't ask any requirements. Might be during the interview. I asked Mama to bring a photos and her original birth and marriage certificate and on my case I have my husband as a joint sponsor so might be a copy of birth certificate again although on her documents I sent certified true copy at NVC.

Hi! When I read the forum in here yesterday. I called the NVC right away and asked for the current status of my mother's case and then the operator said that her interview will be on ....... and he said that they're fixing to send the email. And then when I read Mooninlove's message about the email and then I checked my email right away and I got the email too. So please try to call NVC and do the same thing of what we did..so we probably has the same date too..Good luck!

here is the story:

I came here on a K1 visa (2007) USC husband filed I-130 for my 2 kids in the Philippines. Kids Birth certificates has date and place of marriage.

Just wanna share to u all another good news . It was impossible but really God made a miracle. My kid's I -130 was both approved!After i got the approval of the removal of my condition my kid's were approved.

Thank you all sooooo much for the encouragement and even the discouragement.God is really great! have the best christmas presents ever.

On my case I did not answer either one because it's stating for joint sponsor. I filed for my Mom and my husband was my co-sponsor. And there's no problem of my I-864.Please call NVC and ask about it and that will help also.

Do I pick yes?

Is there a form example for I-864 for someone filling for their spouse? I am so confused with this form. Also would anyone be able to tell me if there's a sample form for my joint sponsor to compare?

i am just getting everything ready for ds230 for my parents. i noticed that i need to sent 2 passport photos with the ds230. i just want to know if my parents need to sign the photo on the back or not.

I was looking at the NOA1's for my mom and there is no priority date listed on it - is this correct?

I filed I-130's for my mom as a US citizen.

It really seems like CSC is slowing down again... not many approvals recently.

Also, would someone add me to the I-130 waiting list please?

don't worry,it's fine! Mine had the same thing too...when you get approved that's the time the priority date showed. you just have to be patient and you'll get approve soon..now, what you have to do is gather all the documents when you get through to the NVC you're gonna be busy. The NVC processing is fastest as long as you're ready for everything. good luck!

Has your case have been approved and it's in NVC now? If so..when filing the DS230,it's required to submit the petitioner's original/certified copy of Marriage and birth certificate for IR5/parent petition.
