  1. I could write 435 pages about this subject :crying::crying::crying:

Interesting that you should say that. When I started researching what AP was all about, I briefly thought it'd be interesting to write an blog article about it. I felt it's something that needed to be brought to people's attention, seeing as it's such a crazy situation with absolutely nobody to hold accountable, no time limits, and nowhere to get information about your case, and where most people who get put into it have NO idea that it can happen before they go to the interview. (I know I didn't, and I spent *ages* researching the interview in advance...)

    Bobby

    Hey Bobby,

The way you described the AP reminds me of situation of a prisoner at Guantanamo Bay - black hole.

  2. Great news today, the embassy emailed me and asked a strange question about my wife. They asked me if my wife was married before? I said yes she filed divorce prior to our marriage and it was complete.

I wonder why they asked this question, this information is in the original I-130 packet. So now I know this AP process has to do with my wife's prior marriage. the email said this.

    Dear Mr. Whitted:

    Thank you for your message.

Please inform us ASAP: was your wife ever married prior to marrying you?

    Thank you,

    IV Unit

Strange assumption... To me, this message does not explain AP process.

  3. Today I called DOS to check the status of my AP case and instead of usual "still under review" all of a sudden I was told about new activity in the embassy with my case. I was so carried away with that information so even forgot to ask if the case is still in AP. So I called back and another operator not only did not confirm the information which I received earlier but actually said that they don't such information. I called again and another operator said same thing that there was no any information in the database that I was referring to.

What's the hell is going on over there??? I've read here before that one operator tells you "Congrats! you got approved" and at the same time the other one would say "no, you are not approved. the case is still under AP".

    Isn't it bizarre?

  4. i can't believe it...just a wrong birthdate on the police clearance and she failed? they didnt give her a chance to give the correct one? maybe she didnt explain it right? our interview is in 2 days and i am very very worried too!

It will stop the process because these legal documents don't match

    Wow, this is brutal

  5. Usually, when I send an e-mail to the embassy for AP status update they say "Unfortunately, not yet." Today I got a reply "Unfortunately, not. Please contact us in 4-5 working days for updated info". I don't bother them everyday. I send e-mails and call DOS once a week. Does this reply mean that in 4-5 days AP will be over? I keep my fingers crossed.

After a week of hope I got another cold "The case is still under review" reply :crying:

  6. It does not sound right. They cannot deny verbally. They MUST give her a paper of any color. You should act based on that paper requirement.

In any case, you MUST call or e-mail the embassy or DOS to understand the case status and only after that decide what to do or not to do.

I would not stop without understanding what really happened.

    Best wishes!

  7. one other thing that I forgot to mention, there were 10 iranian there, 8 of them went on AP as soon as they opened their mouth and 2 of us( one of them was my fiancee) got approved, but then we received a blue paper the next day........ with no info in it

You can call DOS in the US and ask them what's up with your visa/case at 202-663-1225.

  8. I called EVERY single day including a few hours after the interview. I also emailed the embassy a couple of times a week. My philosophy, "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." I think especially with the embassy, since they have to print and put emails into the file, it kept my file on top. AND when I gave them two options for a second interview when I would be present they took one. I won't say it will work for everyone, but that's how things worked for me.

How do you know that they have to print all e-mails???

  9. Hi there, my fiance is in the similar situation where he had to provide additional documents under 221(g). But when you submit additional documents it does not mean AP will be over. Actually it will be the BEGINNING!!! Only God knows how long it will take. After a month and a half we are still in AP.

Here's a link to AP Tracker to give you an idea about time frame

    Good luck!

    :crying:

what the heck ??? its only the "beginning"?? I really thought we were almost there! Just when i thought the NVC was a pain, now these people! what did they ask your fiance for ?? and did they ask him for it at the interview? did they give him a letter also? with us they said "everything looks good BUT we need these before we can issue a visa"

Yes, my fiance got blue slip at the interview and he was told "everything is OK. Bring such and such documents and you'll be fine". A week after the interview we submitted the docs and they said via e-mail "we have to do additional review before we issue visa".

Only after reading this board I've realized that we are in HELL.

  10. Well that is interesting because the DOS has told me on two different occassions that we came out of AP on September 7th. But at this point Cairo is still saying "under final consul review". Wonder why the DOS keeps telling you you are in AP?

I really don't know why the DOS keep saying that to me .but i sent so many Emails to the USA embassy and i asked them if I'm still under AP or I'm under CO review .They told me that I'm under CO review.i even called them and i explained what the DOS told me .they said if we sent you an email saying your case is pending CO review .so its pending CO review .!!!!!!!!

somehow i believe them cause i have seen many cases like mine .the DOS told them under AP and the embassy told them CO review .a few days later when they called DOS to check on their status they said that the embassy printed their visas .

Which mean they will keep saying under AP to me i guess till the embassy issue the visa.

The funny thing about that process is i have been under AP since March .which mean they have all of my papers since more than 6 months .why the heck they didn't review it in these 6 months ?!!!!! plus they asked for my passport on July,30,2009.which mean since over than 6 weeks .isn't that enough to review some papers?!!!!!!!

they really need to know that we are sick of waiting .enough is enough !!!!!!!!

I'm with you, Hot Guy. I want to puke thinking that my case is collecting dust on someone's desk.

All these months they did nothing with your case. It was probably undergoing background check in the States. Once background is cleared they have to take a final look at your case. And, now CO is just busy...

    Best,

  12. I've read a lot about contacting congressman or senator in case of emergency. I've contacted both and did not get immediate help. Senator's office told me that I have to wait about 4 weeks to get a response from the senator. Congresswoman's office gave me 2-3 weeks to wait. How is this helpful??? My case is with the embassy and I need some help.
