  1. doesn't he care about you?? hope he doesn't have any other reason why he doesn't want to sign but he has to

he told me that believe me , they will still approved us coz we are married, as if he knows more than to the US government.

i told him why not call some other friends of us with our same case, he said no need coz i understand what i read. he is so close minded never listen to anybody.

and he take it for wrong of what i told to him about u not care on my future u just care ur future, for him it sort i told him that he is a greedy #######. i never said that.

  2. Tell your husband to read the instructions on the 864 -

as others have posted above - there is no way for the primary sponsor (your husband) to get out of this.

The government can always access his assets, regardless if he signed an 864 or not, for various reasons, not connected with immigration. This is not a reason to not sign the 864 for your immigration - since the 864 is for your support, not the government.

He should be more afraid that you would go after his income, which the 864 allows for.

What If I choose Not to Sign a Form I-864?

You cannot be made to sign a Form 1-864 if you do not want to do so. But if you do not sign the Form I-864, the intending immigrant may not be able to become a permanent resident in the United States.

thats why i told him if u will not signed , i will not be a permanent resident or dont have a greencard, if it happen they apprrove its just that im a married but still im an alien or stranger in this country.

thats why i explained to him that u dont have to be worry about that one, coz its not saying once u signed that form the government can access or even me, no its not...... and i told him that i did signed already a prenuptial agreement so what u been worrying for?

  4. thats why I suggest and Infopass appointment, as they USCIS officer can tell him all this stuff. He might have a better time believing it if it comes from the people who work on the approvals and denials.

Sir he called the Chicago call center USCIS and he spoke to an operator but it seems that lady not convince my husband... anyway where i can call or set up appointment by the USICS OFFICER?

the problem of this I-864 there saying u have an option, to sign or not to sign......

  5. What is the reason why he doesnt want to have a contract with the US goverment? As he is your petitioner and spouse, he is responsible to sign the Affidavit of support I-864. He has nothing to worry about because immigration or government only wants to know if he can support you financially. My husband signed my I-864 and didn't even question about getting into a contract with the government. I hope that he will sign it...

he think once he signed the form , then the US government can access his asset , he just concern with his future and his assets , he never concern on my future

No affidavit, no green card as your spouse is the main sponsor to sign on it. Who had signed on I-134(affidavit) that might to apply to get K-1 visa?

the I-134 he did signed that form

  6. No affidavit, no visa.

i really dont know what to say to him i did my best to explain as i can i even told him, why dont u call our friend who had a wife same on my country and same on my visa case and i can even call some of my friends and they can explain u better than i... but i wont talked to them its clear on this documents , and i do understand, one of the words on the affidavit if u wont signed this form the intending immigrant will not be a permanent resident in this country, the thing that ive been worry is that i dont want to stay here as illegal and he told me that believe me they will still grant our petition even i wont signed it.. ok we put like this if ever they approved our petition but i am not a permanent resident , im just still a stranger or alien in this country , he said why? yet we are already married

i really dont know what to do. things are been worse

  7. Hello everyone

i have a question ,what are those possibilities if my husband will not signed the I-864? though he gonna fill up the form.

for sure he told me that he will not signed the I-864 which is the Affidavit of Support. its because one of the page on the form that once you signed the form, you and the U.S government your contracted to them.

the reason he told me is that he dont like to be in contract with the US government.....

please guide me what to do

    thank you

  11. Sadly, I got an RFE. I sent in my response, (I forgot to check a box) and they received it on November 12th. It looks like most people with RFEs get their NOA2 in about a month. If I'd not missed that question box I'd have my NOA2 by now. Ugh. Alas.

    Dont worry buddy

i know everything will be fine

and you gonna have an APPROVAL SOON...

Have faith and believe on heavenly above

  12. hi VJ

i called Embassy in Manila last friday andgot my interview date , but i havent receive any email letter from them yet about appointment letter/confirmation letter

but the operator give me a confirmation code......

what is my next move about this ?

    please let me know

    thanks

Hi, you can use that confirmation code if u want to have ur medical soon in case you don`t have your appointment letter yet. That will allow you to have have medical in SLEC, just bring your NVC letter,NOA2(Notice of Approval) and prepare your medical fees and 2x2 pics. Usually US Embassy send confirmation code and Email Confirmation directly to your email if you provided your email address, if you have that in your inbox print a copy of it directly to the printer, do not copy paste it, they are particular to the genuity of the email, it should have headings, you can use that as suppliment to the Appointment letter in case you dont have it yet.

You can read my post in blogs to gain some information on what to do next. Just follow my link in my profile and it will direct you to my blogs.

Good luck and have a nice day! God bless!

    hi there

i really appreciate your response , thankful for do sharing your opinion

Sir, is it okay that i have only the confirmation code? till i gonna have my interview soon

  14. Well, my fiance will be arriving at SFO in just a couple of hours. I checked the flight status, and they are on-time, so that is good news. I am anxious but very excited to have this part of our journey finally ending. Thank you to all of my friends on VJ. I never would have stayed sane if not for this website and the valuable advice of my friends here. I would also like to report that happily my in-laws all were approved for their tourist visas and the whole family will be here for our wedding in December. We have been very blessed on this journey. Good luck to everyone who is still in the process and know that one day you will be together again. The wait is awful, and sometimes you will just want to give up and run away and hide. But it is worth waiting for the person you love. Hugs especially to all of our Brasil friends who are on their way to the US soon!

    congratz !!!!

how did u do that , in filing there tourist visa?

    do they allow?

    hmmm im abit curious

    please do share

    thank u

  15. Hi All, I have a few questions to clarify about the I-134 form.

I have seen that there different versions of the form, revised in 2006 and there's 2008. I tried to compare it and there's difference with some of the fields to be filled out.

    Questions:

    >Which one should I download, the latest or either version?

    > In item no. 3,what should I answer to "Marital status" and "Relationship to Sponsor"?

    > In item no. 10, "Name of Person", is it the beneficiary's name?

    > Still item no. 10, "Date Submitted",date when the petitioner sent in the I-129F?

    > item no.7 " i own real state and there asking the address , now my question is i got a two address of properties but there space is not much, can i use separate paper to put my two address with my signature? does it allow?

    > item no.11 please do explain us further more about this

Your help is appreciated.Thank you.

  16. Hello Everyone,

I'm glad to say my package has been sent from NVC to the embassy, in my case to Bogota.

I was reading and I haven't ready anyone suggesting to call the NVC to check the status on their file. In some cases, perhaps many cases, there is a process known as ADMINISTRTIVE PROCESSING. If you get locked into this category you can be delayed days, weeks, or even months. On average I have seen it be about 45 days.

If you have already received your NOA2 form in the mail.. don't wait, call the NVC at 1-603-334-0700.

    Ask them

    1) What is the status of my file?

    2) Is it in Administrative processing?

If they say they have already sent it, ask them for the new case number, and when it was sent.

If they said it was sent, then you can goto the DHL website, DHL.com, and look and verify it WAS sent. They won't give you a tracking number per say but now you can type the following into the website.

Example: It was sent yesterday, October 27, 2009.

    Goto DHL.com -> Track-> Track by REFERENCES

put in the following: EXP 27 OCT 2009A (note, exactly as I have put it, with spaces and all)

at this point, maybe 50 cases will pull up... look for your country of desigation, if you found it... or maybe found a couple.. at least u know u have a good shot that it was sent.

    Good luck!

    David.

    P.s.

On monday they told me I was in Administrative Processing.... I freaked out.. by Wednesday.. they told me it was sent to the embassy. So, if you find yourself in that process.. just breath and hope for the best.

    -David

    Sir David

can i call to NVC? i mean either of the two can call to NVC?

i dont mind to call even its long distance for me

and what are those question they gonna ask ?

I believe either the beneficiary or the petitioner can call. First, they will ask you the case number assigned by the USCIS (which I believe if your a k1-filer is begins with EAC.... but i'm not positive thats it for every case). Next, they will ask you for the names and birthdates of both the beneficiary and the petitioner, so just have those ready to answer.

Try calling early morning, i believe you can call as early as 7:30am EST.... you'll wait like 2 minutes. If you call after 12:00pm.. you'll wait like 10-15-20 minutes from my experience.

If they tell you the file has been received, but hasn't been sent to the embassy be sure to ask why.

    -David

p.s. Be sure to fill out your timeline information in the VJ time system, you can access it at the following link: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php

    Sir David

i just called NVC , omg , it took few minutes coz all operators are busy , but anyway the operator that i talked so nice and very polite , i ask her what is the status of our application , she mention the date they sent forward to my country but the thing i forgot to follow up is to ask our new case number

quest : can i call again and ask to them our new case number?

and i did ask to the operator that my fiancee (petitioner) havent receive any hard copy noticed from them

hmmmmm she said dont worry anyway they have our email so they can sent to our email , would it be possible too?

    another quest:

when i checked DHL as the date she told me

i found out theres one for our country

do u think that is ours documents ?

thank you- sorry if my grammar are not good same with my english

Yes.. you can call again and get the case number. I called several times in one day and got a different person each time!

Other people have said they got a hard copy of the notice from NVC, but I asked NVC about this yesterday and was told they don't send one. I have not gotten a hard copy.. so I don't know, but some people have.

On one of the days I called NVC, I was told I would get an email when it was sent to the consulate. It was sent 3 days ago, but I have not gotten an email from them either.

The one you found on DHL could be yours.. you should also look to see if there was one sent to your consulate on the day AFTER NVC told you they sent it. Some of us have found ours listed on the day after.

For example, if they told you it was mailed on 9/27 look to see if a package went to you consulate on 9/28.. that could be yours.

It's hard to tell which package is really yours.. you just have to guess.

    curious on ur time line

when u called NVC u asked them when they receive ur docs from USCIS?
