  1. Did you guys got the letter? Are you able to see the pdf? Do you know when the ceremony will occur in January? Please let me know, thank you!!!

We got ours yesterday. (even though we got an email the day before saying our case had been updated). About 24 hours later we were able to see the PDF.

    His ceremony is January 13th

  2. I think field office is a big one- Portland, ME is a small office-- when my husband went for his interview it was the busiest I have seen it- you ready for you--- 4 people!! 2 Naturalization interviews, one FP, and one work related!

So its no surprise there that we got ours a little quicker- Praying all of you get yours fast and easily.

From what I gathered in other forums, the movement of each of our cases is dependent on so many different factors, such as Background, Field Office, life situation, that plays into the whole time / process, we can't just expect that if Jon Doe's Finger Prints were on the same day as mine, that our cases will have the same updates.

For what I've seen there are people from the busiest field offices such as New York, San Jose, etc that have priority dates from May, of course are IOE files, that haven't even received the email for the Interview Scheduled. And as we've seen in this forum, some August filers already have their Interview dates.

I've made peace with myself and even stopped checking the various USCIS websites and will patiently wait until It's 6 months from my PD and will start calling InfoFail to get updates and push.

Good luck to all of us !

  3. I called the USCIS customer service last week when I first saw the "interview scheduled" status in my online account. I spoke to a tier 2 officer and she told me my interview was not scheduled, but that I was in line for an interview as of Oct 31 and that my background check cleared. I do think that the "interview scheduled" status means the case was transferred to the local office and is now in line for interview. The officer also told me my interview should be scheduled within 30 days from Oct 31 and to call back if I don't get it by the end of November. I'm glad to see some IOE cases being scheduled for interviews include midge&isi

I think the transferring piece is true- Portland Maine is a smaller center so it makes sense that it is quicker in scheduling. We had locked our self out so Idk when or if it ever said we were in line....

    Thanks!!!

  4. Just got notification that supposedly an interview was scheduled for us as well. We are a very small field office... will see!

Our profile got locked (our fault! have requested our profile to be unlocked). so we can not get the letter online, so hopefully we get it soon in the mail....

This is what the update looked like today- before it spoke of our bio letter and the Aug 8th date.

  6. Hello everyone,

I have just submitted my AOS package and it arrived yesterday(Friday). Accidentally I stumbled upon Selective Service and some talk about having to register.

I'm currently 24 years, my i94 expires in November, and in October I will be 25. I'm on a k1 visa.

I read that people who are on k1 are not required to register, but once you apply for AOS we should register ?

So, to make it short, do i have to register now? I know the USCIS is suppose to do it automatically, but since i can do it online, i rather do it if I must.

    Many thanks.

Hi there, my husband was in the same boat but very close to the 26 year mark. We went to an open meeting with immigration officers. We were told from the officials that because a K-1 has the INTENT to immigrate that they need to register when they get to the USA. Even though the SS website says non-immigrants do not need to register USCIS has a different view because of the intent part.

I would do it now, as when you Naturalize it asks for the date that you registered, to avoid any issues, do it and not worry about it.

I would also not bank on being registered automatically.

  7. Hi there,

With the new website it seems that access to your case is not there, has anyone else had this issue. When I login to https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

I attached the photo of the page, I do not see anywhere to see My cases, my letters etc, as I was able to before.

Anyone else having this issue or is there something I am missing.

    Thanks!

  8. My husbands letter was on the site and then was not there today--- Ours was mailed the 5th and we got it in 3 or 4 days. Our bio is this tuesday.

I am not sure what is going on with the website as it was there and now they are not. It looks like they made the update but not a working one. I hope you get your letter soon. I would make an info pass- they may even let you do your FP then.

  9. That's strange that USCIS failed to register him with SS. It's possible there is some kind of error and he is registered but not coming up on their system.

Requesting a status information letter will make SS perform a more thorough check: https://www.sss.gov/instructions.html

Enclose a copy of his I-485 as they requested, plus the other information they ask for. Worst case scenario, even if he wasn't registered then he can still apply for citizenship, just not until he turns 31. With luck though he is registered and they'll be able to find his information.

I agree on the 31- it will be easier at that point.

Immigration does not register them for Selective Service---

  10. Than you for responding to my post.

I was unable to use my credit card in Ghana. We didn't stay in a hotel for she had family and I also had family there so we stayed with them the whole time I was there. Yes we are engaged, I proposed to her at a restaurant after our meal but we did not have a camera on us to take a picture. There were many factors that did not allow us to have evidence of each other other than our own eyes and some photos from our phone which we mostly left at home since that is where most our time was spent. I do have evidence that I bought the plane ticket but it is on my mothers credit card since I had misplaced mine at the time. There were many ups and downs.

You have a bit of evidence- since you haven't applied will there be an opportunity for you to go back either before the interview for another visit or go for the interview?

For the petition you have enough to apply- showing you have physical met within 2 years.

For the interview you will need more. Save your convos from now on which will show the on-going relationship that they will bring to the interview.

There are a few of us who were university students or recent graduates that went through Accra and did fine. My self and another couple recently.

I don't see what a lawyer will do for you- save your money unless there is something you have not told us that will be a red-flag, but from what you said there isn't too much to be worried about.

  11. I got a copy of the vaccination record but just going in to see a surgeon is $150 so who do I show it to prove that am in good health?

You just have to fork the money to have the transcript done- it is part of the process none of us like it but you have to do it for AOS. Just the vaccines not a medical exam so you need to find a CS who will do the transcribing for you

You dont need a copy of the medical exam. We didn't have one from Accra house and many others do not have them from the medical before k-1 interview.

They just want proof of the vaccines and the only way to do this is going to an CS for transcript

  12. They can set their own prices so call around- the problem is it is a money making scheme for everyone it seems--- hopefully you can find one for less. Ours was 100 back in Dec 2010 in Maine.

Thank to each and every VJ members who has been helping a lot of us who know nothing about this whole process.Everyone effort is really appreciated.I am here again for help. Even though i did not receive any RFE from USCIS about my medicals,I still decided to get the Vaccination supplement done. When i call USCIS recognize surgeon about the price for just Vaccination Supplement (Part 1& 2),i was told that, the total gonna be $230.00. Is this alright? Why should i have to pay that much amount? My interview is on the 25th of this month. Please i need help. Thanks
