  1. I just took a glance at the June filers that have been approved, and I noticed that of the 21 that are approved on the list only one of them is identifiable as a female petitioner. I think that we have more women than men posting on this thread so I just wanted to throw that out there and see if anyone else wants to make speculations about CSC. ;)

It something I can plug into minitab and analyze if I get bored enough... so it's probably good that I'm taking a billion classes right now and the only free time I have is when I'm stuck at work. :jest:

  2. I prefer seeing some kind of daily activity on Igor's list - and I know I am not good in the patience department but not seeing anything since 9/7/09 is frustrating!!!

We need to celebrate for whoever the first July filer approval will be!!! How exciting! That will pretty much get the ball rolling :)

I just feel like it is just around the corner!!! I think we will start to see someone from July group at least starting 9/15 no???

Wish you all a great afternoon :)

My guess is July filers will start getting approved around 9/25 and one of us that has posted on this thread will get NOA2 by 10/01. Hard to say though. I definately wish things were getting approved a lot quicker! The first week and a half of each month has less approvals at CSC, but it seems midmonth is "cracking". ;)

    Welcome to the club Zahid1982!

  3. Yeah, this weekend definitely did drag on and on. I'll be so glad when he's finally here and I can enjoy a long weekend again and not simply look at it as three days off at CSC!

Yesterday we hit 60 days since our NOA1. So I tried to comfort myself (and him) by saying "There, we're 3/4 of the way through the wait." But then it only meant maybe another 1/3, or 30 days to go. Or worse. Ohhhhh, the ones who get held up for months and months scare me so badly!

He does so much better than I do. Inherently so much more patient. I wish I had his British sensibility :)

I'm banishing all worry and thinking only good thoughts. Only good thoughts for all of us!!

being english and the guy.. trust me its no easier for us! i guess we just have to try and support each other the best we can. i often get the whole "your taking this so much better than me" speech :-)

we ARE getting there...(although i will be towards the end of you all in theory) just think its all of US next! i just want to wish you all the best and i truly hope it all goes smoothly

Oh my goodness! You sound like me roughsweet! My british (Scottish!) guy is a pain too! I hate how they're so sensible... No planning wedding stuff until we have the visa?? I think that's horrible ;) And the answer to the when can we **** **** questions is always "when we are financially ready" .... right!!!!

I keep trying to get him to commit to coming December 27th since he wants to spend one more christmas with his family... but he's having none of it when I try to pin him down to dates after this last trip. I thought London embassy was suppose to be the easiest to work with when you have concrete travel plans... too bad I can't make him agree to what I have in mind. I did however get him to say January 8th sounded like a good day to have our wedding. Even though he won't stick to it now I am going to hold him to it!!!

thats so funny! i've just been giving the whole when we are financially ready talk haha!! however I can say I have agreed a date for the wedding since it is booked near enough paid off now. Refreshing to hear the above though :-)

I've decided his idea of 'financially ready' is BS.. I want! I want! I want NOW!

ONLY JOKING!!!! If I have my degree by Dec 2010 and my credit cards paid off, then we will be financially ready by MY standards. ;) I think he should be ok with it as long as he doesn't realize that it would eventually be cutting into his Xbox time.

  5. We should all take a trip to Vegas! haha

I know the minute he lands I'm going directly either to CA city hall to get married or a quick trip to Vegas (Since he has never been to Vegas) Might be a nice welcome to America shock for him.

So just wanted to wish you all a great week! I think we are reaching the point where anything can happen. I just hope none of us get any RFE's or get lost in the shuffle somewhere!!! :star:

This weekend seemed to drag on too much...and I don't know if anyone else felt the same way - But I had to chuckle a few times when I thought to myself and said "ok - there is nothing you can do but enjoy your weekend b/c even USCIS is out this weekend!" :) So it is a new week ...and I never thought I would look forward to "Business day" ...

Let's hope USCIS comes back relaxed and refreshed to process some July Apps!!! :) yayyyy...

And thank God for all of you b/c every time I get depressed, it helps knowing I'm not alone and all of you are going through the same process.

    Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

Yes, you're not the only one having crying jags at work because your sweetie is far far away. LOL! That's somewhat comforting I suppose.

  6. Welcome to our July "Sufferers" thread :)

We're hoping for a January wedding too, fingers and toes crossed. Since Chicago is horribly cold in January we might actually try to arrange a ceremony out west... Vegas? :D

I live too close to Vegas for it to sound romantic to me. Maybe I can convince him to get married in San Diego instead of just at the Salt Lake courthouse. :D

  7. Just a quick question,

did any of you notice a touch in your case yet? I am just dying to receive an e-mail about our case, but so far it seems as if I got to be patient. Yarrr.. it's just so hard to wait when I want to be with Wade so badly!

Last Updated: 07/22/2009 :( It's only been a few weeks.. and we have several more to go! It's hard sometimes to be so far away, but it will be over soon.

  8. Hi everyone!

I've been a member of this site since june, and a lurker here even longer and I can't believe I haven't seen this thread until now! So nice to meet other people who are in the same boat as Wade and myself. We filed july 15, and our timeline says we might get our NOA2 between october 16-20. It sounds incredible fast, so we're hoping the estimation is correct. It's such a drawnout process, so lets hope for a smooth journey for all of us july 09 filers

    Kristin

Welcome!! I filed just a couple of days after you! Hopefully time will fly and we'll have our sweeties hear by the new year.

As of right now, Dave needs to get his birth certificate and police record in hand.. and I need to send him a signed aff. of support as soon as we get our NOA2.. I already gave him the IRS papers and my W2s last time I was there. Can anyone think of anything else?

With the way CSC has been going, I wouldn't be suprised if we started getting NOA2s within 4-6 weeks!!!

  9. Jeez, I hate how the CSC drags their heels at the beginning of the month.

They've been doing so amazingly well lately, we've all jumped so many spaces on Igor's, and they're clearly processing June apps! And catching up on old OLD cases, which THRILLS me! Those people deserve approval more than anyone!!

So, why did I wake up and check Igor's this morning, and feel so deflated when we didn't move?

This whole process messes with your mind so much. Each little sign of hope or despair, it's ridiculous!

More than anything... I guess I'm just really, really missing Neil today. :(

Sorry for the blahs post, guys. But if you all don't understand who will, right? Isn't that why we have a July CSC group, to celebrate and commiserate with each other?

That's exactly how I felt when I checked today!! Dave and I just spent 2 weeks together and are now hoping to be able to get married the first part of January. Now we're out of money to go visit each other and need to start saving for the big move and the wedding reception. *tick*tick*tick*tick*

  10. I'm the only one that has responded to the poll that spent over $15k on medical in the last 12 months. I pay for United Health Care through my employer, but they have a lot of exclusions.. hence my having to pay for costly surgeries out of pocket. I'm not so sure I would like a government ran health system. I mostly just wish the insurance companies had a hard kick in the @*($&@. There's no reason they need to continously raise rates while at the same time adding in more and more exclusions. I had to pay a lot of money to improve my quality of life, and I will still be paying for it 5 or 10 years from now as I make less than $35k per year and have had to finance the expenses.

  11. I've been dealing with relatively minor (painful and inconvenient but not life threatening) medical issues and recently spent $15,000 on medical expenses including a surgery that my insurance wouldn't cover. Because I knew about this last December I was able to elect to have A LOT of money put into my medical flex spending account.

This means I have a lot being diverted to medical FSA, daycare FSA, medical, dental, and vision insurance which was all taken before taxes. My employer also takes out money for auto and home owner's insurance, etc etc etc.... IT'S MAKING ME WORRY ABOUT IF THE GOVERNMENT WILL ALLOW ME TO SUPPORT MY FIANCE!!!!!!!!!!

I've had a bit of bad luck getting these things taken care of but after this last surgery I am doing better than ever and have no more surgeries planned!!!

Although I make a decent hourly rate, because I will have taken quite a bit of unpaid leave this year and have a heart-stopping amount deducted from each payment according to ADP statements I will only have federal taxable wages of maybe $21,600. EEEEEEK!!! Since I have a dependent child I have to have $22,887 as income??

I can prove I have a bit of equity in my home, as long as the economy doesn't sink any lower. I have heard that they will sometimes apply your assets to the deficiency. Does anyone have experience with the calculation of ability to support?

If we get approved and interview in 2009 they will see my paycheck stubs with more than enough gross, but low take-home and federal taxable. If we get approved in 2010 they will see a frightening lower income tax return. What are some steps I should be taking now? My fiance will interview at the London consulant. What agencies will be looking at my income and at which point in the process?

  12. Some women find eating crackers or bread slowly to get something in the stomach can help relieve nausea. Small meals throughout the day is suggested, and usually bland food is better. Hopefully she will feel MUCH better within about 6 weeks!! The first trimester is usually the worst.

How sweet of you to do some research for her :D The doctor should be able to help a lot!

  13. I was checking out Igor's list for CSC and I noticed that there was less applicants for June and July than for May. May had 100 and June about 68. Are there less people applying do you think because of the recession or is it just that people fill in their timelines late? Just curious. :)

It seems like it may be a little of both recession and people not yet filling in timelines. There also MIGHT be a lot of couples applying in August-October as the summer ends, lovers part ways and people realize how hard it will be to go on without marrying that special someone. The last time I saw my sweetie was June 7th and it took just under a month and a half to file.

Tonight I came up with mixed results using the VJ web queries when I did it by NOA1 rec'd date and filed date. There were 42 filers for June when I sorted by ALL petitions and Date Sent, but 57 in there when I sorted by ALL petitions and NOA1 Rec'd Date.

  14. Favorite quotes:

"So basically Tybalt's all pissed off and he wants to pop a capulet"

"I think my wife is cheating on me."

"Hey look, it's the vocab driver."

OMG!! That's so funny! I was just remembering today how my Psychology professor from a couple years ago got arrested mid-semester for sexually assaulting students. I kept trying to think what kind of stuff he said and did that should have been warning signs. This definately helped me recall a couple in-class weird moments .

  15. For a K-1 you have to have met in person in the last two years. You can take a trip back and visit or get married when there and file for K-3 or CR-1. (better CR-1) You will have to refile as you did not meet within the last two years and no refunds. Bummer. Better use the money you saved for YOUR plane ticket to visit and save some more for hers when the K-1 gets approved 6-8 months down the road.

Yes, but doesn't the K1 petition state that the 2 year requirement can be waived if you can prove hardship? Maybe he can respond to RFE with documentation proving the mother's death?

Sounds like he is running out of time and at the end of the rope. I agree with you - Bummer!

  16. I know that my area has an agency called Catholic Community Services that offers help to immigrants. Perhaps you can find a local community service that might have an employee or volunteer with some legal experience?

Also, you gave us a very thorough explaination. If I were the CSC employee working on RFEs I would be understanding of your situation. Its not often that mothers have to be separated from their children, and my 2 months of reading VJ has given me more than enough prospective into the Filipino culture to understand the difficulty in obtaining a divorce/annulment.

Sorry I couldn't give you any solid help, but good luck!!

  17. Most my jokes are about proving we're a real couple. "Most real couples wouldn't do ...... would they." The most outrageous ones can't be posted of course. ;) Sometimes I joke that we're going to have to start a family to prove we're a real couple.

I love the 'movie immigration' questions, those are hilarious. I will also have to let him know I'm getting him on 'a two year lease with option to buy'.. I think he will love that!!
