    i had my interview on the 20th may and i was approved my interview lasted only 2 mins and i was asked only 3 questions and she gave me the biggest shock of my life.you are approved and will get your passport in maximum two weeks time.i cant tell you how i felt i saw almost everyone going out with green slip.i was the lucky one .thanks to Allah my one year journey is about to end.

    Thanks you guys, We are gonna have one big party when he comes here, i have a welcome home rana party decoration sign thats been hanging on my liveing room wall for a year now becus i had no idea it would take this long, so i never took it down lol, i will throw a big party for him when he gets here and invite all family and friends, can yall tell im excited :D

    thanks Mumtaz. We received an email today from Embassy saying Zaheer's visa was sent thru courier yesterday. Today, he collected it frm SpeedEx office!!! He will, Insha'Allah be home by mother's day! Unfortunately, Stevie has a cold and is miserable.. but she should be well again by his arrival. Ur right though, I understand exactly how you feel. Its hard especially in this economy. I am sorry your mother is working so hard as well. My mother is also from Michigan, but moved to FL in the 70s. My dad is from Alabama and has only ever worked for Machine shops and he used to build the tools to work on Nasa's spacecraft, but they closed down his department here in FL and he had to take early retirement. Then started working at a company that makes Brain Surgery tools.. but got laid off because he kept editing the program to make it more efficient, but the engineers didnt appreciate that. We used to be a fairly upper middle class family like 12 yrs ago. Then all this happened, and now we are all struggling to get by. We live in a very wealthy town, surrounded by celebs and glamour.. but there is no way to afford cost of living. Anyhow.. I pray that things work out for you and haseeb and little Faris Ali. Zaheer and I are going to start importing Leather Goods and garments starting next month. I hope it works out on top of his job at the car dealership. take care... and be strong. I understand COMPLETELY. Allah Hafiz.

    I need to know place in karachi where my wife can take DS230 immigration picture? Any suggestion or place you guys used? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.....

    Anyplace in karachi where i can translate and notarized the documents?

    there is no need for going to a special place just go to any photographer and tell him that u need a picture of 2-2 (5cm-5cm) with white background and for the notarization you can go to the any nazim or you can go to kacheri, basically you can go to anyone who has the license and for the translation you can go to the any computer composer shop.

    so my wife went on Thursday. Reached the embassy at 1:30...was out by 2:30 with the VISA.....oh my God!!! After a year of this crappy process,it is finally over.. Thanks a lot to everyone on VJ. I wouldnt have gotten through this without all the advice and support.

    Then we bought her ticket and out of all the airlines, we chose AIR FRANCE....So we all know what happened with the whole Ashes and airport closures. So the utter happiness plummeted pretty fast. Her flight got cancelled but some good persistent hounding of the airport officials and she got put on a direct flight from dubai to Usa. I should be seeing her in the next 12 hrs. I will update you guys with her POE experience.

    Hey guys. Just peaking in from a kiosk in a hotel. I just logged in to give you guys the great news. CASE COMPLETE. YAY!!!

    I called the AVR yesterday and he says that the case has been complete as of April 5th.

    I asked him if there were any problems with my AOS or DS-230 and he said that there was a problem with the AOS.

    He said that a new up to date one would have to be submitted at the interview because the one that they received was from a year ago.

    That's it!! No biggie!!

    So he said that I'm just waiting for an interview date from the consulate. My husband and I are so excited. :dance:

    I'll be actively chatting with you guys on Monday once I'm back to my main office. See you guys.

    Yes Ramadan Mubarak to you too Lonely Heart and all Muslim VJers!

    MZJ - although AP is shorter and quicker for a K3 and like waitingforapproval said that greencard is given earlier on CR1, I have heard of a few cases where the applicant is put on another AP after entering the US and at the time of adjusting status from a K3. so in the end its about the same.

    Waitingforapproval - so ummm, yeah I called yesterday and spoke to Sarah! Now I know what you are talking about! Gosh, she is an angel and the sweetest person in immigration yet! She said we are in final review as well and we should be hearing from the embassy soon for a call for the passport!! GRIN! I still couldn't believe my ears so of course I called again a little while later and the guy was like AP pending with an attitude. So i said well, I was told his case is in final review is this right, and he was like yes. I said what's next he goes nothing...just wait!

    So i was like yeah ok...same to you "*£&%*"!

    wow so nice to hear that hope you all come out of this very soon good luck :thumbs:

    Yo join the club.....my hubby too want to spend Ramadhan n Eid with his mommy n family :blush: whats going on with these paki guys,mama boys.......

    Lets take votes on that...

    For all the hubbys here what do u think? Would u prefer eid n ramadhan with ur mom n family (like always)or with ur wife n her family(for the first time ever atleast in my case)?

    i would have flown next hour if poosible i am missing my janu so much well she is coming here in december and i cant wait till then i miss her dantt :bonk:
