Could you update your timeline? I like to compare so I can guess at when my husband will get his EAD. How many days did it take from submitting your paperwork to receiving the card in the mail?

Ok I updated it for you My EAD took 66 days from submitting it to receiving it in mail.

I received my EAD in the mail today!! I'm so frikken happy! Now to find a job and start contributing! woo hoo!

Well my AP was approved on Monday and I am thinking that I should recieve my EAD soon I'm hoping. I was comparing timelines and it looks as though most ppl got their EADs approved on the same day or just a few days after. I really really hope so!! I have an interview on Monday for a job I really want, I didn't even apply for it. A girl I know here just told her boss about me and he wants me to come in, she has explained everything about my situation though. I am wondering if I can start working as soon as the EAD is approved or if I have to wait until I get the card in the mail? I hope not because I don't want this job to pass me by (if I get it!) and the mail seems to take forever from USCIS.

thanks everyone! this has taken a load of my mind! slider...unfortunately she doesn't have any extra work, she barely has any for me but it gives me something to do like once a week. other than that, i feel your pain! i'm getting completely frustrated with not working and sitting at home all day. i try to stay positive but my god it gets soooo frikkin boring here!! brandon bought me a puppy so i have him to take care of and spend time with, if it wasn't for him i'd probably die lol.

Hi All! I am now in the states on a K1 visa and I'm wondering if it is okay if I do some side work for my old boss in Toronto, doing marketing stuff online etc. and then I will just send her an invoice. I always worked this way for her in the first place, sort of like I'm self employed; she doesn't take taxes off. So I'm wondering if I could get in trouble since I'm working or if not since it is work for a Canadian employer? She will just send money into my paypal account. If I could get in trouble maybe I could just still do the work and have her pay me but wait until like October when I get my work authorization to date the invoices or I can maybe have my fiance's name on the invoices? My boss doesn't care. Any help would be great!

i just have a quick question! i'm filling out the forms to adjust status, just so after we get married i can mail them off right away and i'm wondering if for my name I would put my fiance's last name since I will be taking his last name or my maiden name?

Ashen could you please leave me out this month as well unfortunately I have been unable to locate a postcard in this city whatsoever. I would like to participate again in June after I go to Florida to get married, as I'm sure I can locate some postcards at the airport or something. Thanks!

i have yet to send out mine as well!! I have not found them anywhere!! i've even called places and the only one is the airport which is the smallest airport ever lol and 25 mins away. so we are headed out the airport way on saturday so i am 100% mailing mine on saturday! sorry!! and i haven't received mine in the mail yet either so i don't feel soooo bad.

We are getting married in Siesta Key on June 12th and then rented a convertible to drive to Key West from Siesta Key. Siesta Key is supposed to have the nicest beaches in all of the USA.

I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. I listened to this song over and over and over during the last 2 months before my interview. I like listening to songs with energy and that pump me up to get me through rather than listening to slow songs. For some reason the slower songs make me more sad.

i just wanted to let you know that i never had to pay for my court records. maybe it depends on the courthouses. but it did take a few weeks to get the court record.

i was in canada when i got my court records but all i did was call the courthouse where I had my court proceedings and they just asked me to send them a fax asking for a Certified Court Record. then they mailed it to me. i don't think it matters if you are outside of canada for court records but when you do the criminal record check, it's best to have this done in canada as it will take up to 120 days to get it done if you are outside of canada.

ahaha u saw that! lol. I was so dumb that I thought that where Kimbear was, was actually the back of the line. I didn't even notice I was standing in front of the entrance haha, then I asked her 'why is everyone lining up overthere instead of behind me?' then she told me that was the back of the line and they were the front. i am seriously so stupid sometimes haha. but yes wooo hooo the wait was def worth it!

i had my k1 interview yesterday with the same issue of answering no to that question and i was just honest and explained why i answered no and the officer was very nice and said it was such a minor charge that it wouldn't have stopped me from getting my visa. so i think it's best just to be honest and they will understand.
