But given that divorce is not recognized in the PI, the other spouse would have to pursue an annulment in the Phillipines before he/she could marry there, right?
Correct ...

President Arroyo has really made a mess of things in Mindanao ...
By making promises she had no business or authority to make ... she has spawned all this new violence ... and put all the peoples living in this region lives at risk ...
When the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) was created ... it gave Muslims some limited form of self government ...
In 2008 President Arroyo signed an agreement with the Muslims that expanded the physical boundaries of the ARMM as well as gave the muslims total autonomy and political authority to govern the area ... in effect creating a new autonomous Muslim nation within the Philippines ...
The local non-muslim population and their elected leaders were totally outraged at such a betrayal and filed for an injunction in the Philippines supreme court ... the agreement the president signed with the muslims was found to be unconstitutional and therefore invalid ... the current violence broke out soon after ...

Hard to beat FedEx ... and they are located just about everywhere in the USA ...
Another option for some would be LBC ... but LBC is not located in every state ...
NEVER send anything important to Philippines vis USPS ... once it enters the Philippines it is handed off to the Philippines postal service ... and all bets are off after that ...

So, Mindanao is not the garden spot anymore? Bummer. Luzon is too crowded for my tastes, and an island has to be big enough for me to get out of third gear on the highway. I will have to keep looking.
Well I think I'll still be retiring in Mindanao ...
Zamboanga is in the heart of Muslim territory ... not someplace I'd visit ...
But Mindanao is BIG ... 2nd largest island in Philippines ... Davao City is as safe as anyplace in Philippines ... and far cleaner and more crime free than just about any other place in Philippines ...
If you never got off Luzon ... you really dont know what you're missing ... my guess is that if you didnt like Metro Manila ... you'd probably love Davao City ... they are like night and day ...

I agree it is hard fight for Manny if they will really tandem him to Mayweather...But I don't like Mayweather..he is so arrogant.... Sorry to all Mayweather's fan.
I dont like Mayweather either ...
I would love to see Pacman knock Mayweather out and spoil his "undefeated" record ...
I believe Manny can beat Mayweather ... but it wont be an easy fight ... and it may go 12 rounds just like with Cotto ...
Hopfully they will work out the details and set a date soon ...

Great question and topic for discussion ...
It is not much of an issue for Belinda and me ...
We send a Balikbayan box once a year or so ... and several times a year Belinda will send some money to her mom but its not a large figure and I dont have any problem with sending it at all ... after all ... it is MY family too ...
Belinda has 3 siblings working abroad who also send money home ... so the burden is split 4 ways and not too much problem for any of the 4 children who help Nanay ...

It will be a great fight if it happens, but Mayweather's ego is so large that he might price himself out of the fight. I'd love to see Pacman knock Mayweather out to shut him up. Mayweather can't knock Pacman out (Cotto hits a lot harder & he couldn't do it).
I agree ...
Mayweather will do a lot of public trash talking ...
And behind closed doors he and his people will argue and haggle for the best deal they can make ... talks may stall or go in fits and starts as they try to squeeze as much money out of the fight as they possibly can ...
But in the end ... I believe Mayweather wont let this chance for a big payday get away from him ...

I can't see the picture at work, but I am a very avid boxing fan & know a lot about the sport. I will be very surprised if Mayweather actually fights Pacquiao, since he has a long history of fighting boxers past their prime (De La Hoya), too small (Marquez) or over-hyped (Hatton). Pacman is the real deal & Mayweather will probably create some BS reason not to fight him.
Interesting ...
Manny has fought ALL those same people ...
Mayweather will sign ... he wants a big payday ...
And I dont think it will be an easy fight for Manny ... I think he can win ... but it wont be a 2 round knock out like Ricky Hatton ... I thnk it will be hard fight and one well worth watching ...
-- George
-
LOL!!!
Thats good ...
I'm sure Mayweather will join ...
Win or lose ... there is simply too much money to be had not to fight Manny ...
Only question now is when will they hammer out the details and come up with a date!

Tonight is another big fight and, as usual, I go for the underdog. Ain't got no idea what Vegas says, but I'll put 5,000 pesos on the Puerto Rican! Any takers?
Is it too late to get in on some of that action ???

All of these hotels are reasonably priced ... all are in walking distance of Robinson's Mall in Malate and only a short taxi ride to the USEM ... as mentioned in an earlier post ... you may want to stay at Casa Bocobo for one the best prices available ... but any of the hotels listed above will be nicer than Bayview Park Hotel ... and will probably cost less too ...

I did not submit a notarized affidavit ...
I did include letters from three firends who are not relatives ...
Please note that the letters can NOT be from family or relatives ...
Sworn affidavits or notorized letters are not needed ... just a simple signed letter from a friend or your neighbor or pastor at church etc. will do ...
I included 3 letters from our friends ... bank statments and a copy (transcripts) of our 2007 and 2008 joint tax returns ... and thats all ...
Belinda got her green card in the mail earlier this month ... no interview ...
