We have told everyone. I simply worry that people won't answer their phones or call back the embassy. I never answer a # I don't know.

I saw in the reasons for a denial that family/friends being unaware of engagement as a cause for denial. Does the embassy call people to check on it?

I just want to know if I need to let people know to be expecting a call. Thanks.

I was reading a previous post about someone buying a ticket and having it not be valid because it was not bought in the Phillipines. Can I just buy a one way for her on Expedia, that was my plan, from MNL to LAX? That's how I flew there and got back ok. I paid the money to leave the country but I don't think I paid anything else aside from my initial ticket.

Does anyone have experiences with this? I would imagine expedia would be fine but I also never heard of having to pay to leave a country until I left Manila so I realize things are different there and would like to cover my bases.

I have sent her money through westernunion that's no good? How much do you need? An inch of documents isn't very much. I made a nice little folder of pics and emails, and phone logs. It's about an inch and a half high. That's too much?

Time for her to take the medical at SLEC. Best to do it ASAP in case she has to do a 8 week sputum test! LOTS of TB in PI and lots of people getting their visas delayed because of the sputum test.

My wife did her medical 1 1/2 months early.

She only needs the NOA2, MNL number. passport, 3 PP pictures, 2 ballpens, water and some snacks. Don't go when in her period.

Have her make copies of her passport as she won't get it back until after her interview. May need it for CFO. She will need the PP number to fill out DS forms naman.

Just wanted you all to know things in vermont are moving. Almost 5 months but it's good. So how long does she wait for the letter from the US embassy in Manila? What can we do?

I have been waiting 5 months for Vermont to do their thing then after this is done I figure another 2-3 for her to get the medical and the interview and the visa. My next step was once that visa is in hand I'm putting her in a seat on the next flight to LAX. (love you baby)

Now I read that she needs to do a CFO? What's that? I gather it's some kind of seminar for foreign living seems a bit redundant since she's going to live with a foreigner but when in Rome, right? Anyway, what is this? How long does it take? Can she do that now while we are waiting around? Thanks for any feedback.

Takes one day,,, there is more information around here on it.. Bascially,,, I think it is a seminar,, for fiancees and spouses to know what their rights

are and who to contact in the event of abuse...

I just started a new job a little while ago and can't get vacation for a bit so it doesn't look I can fly back from Manila with Diana. We plan on having her fly from Manila to LAX on a Friday and I will fly from DFW, meet her at LAX we spend the night in LA then Sat. AM we fly back to DFW. She is worried about transferring in airports hence the direct flight.

Have people done the entry alone or is the fiance always there? I have heard LAX POE referred to as a tough one several times in these message boards are they tough on K1 people or is it just the chaos that is LAX? Do I need to find a way to somehow get on the flight from Manila with her? Have any of you women come through LAX alone and met your husband/fiance outside customs?

I didn't send my fiance any pay stubs for her interview nor was she asked for them. Your W2's, 1040s, or ITR's should suffice. Good luck. Mike
