  1. No L179, we got all this information from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. :) Thank God they have been very good about contacting us by e-mail & phone. :D God bless them because I know they are trying their best to finish everything for all of us. May we all have our visas in hand soon! All of you are in my prayers. God bless! Hope to hear good news soon! :D

    ~~~~~~~~~
    For anyone out there who's been in the same situation as us, can you please share your experience with us so we can know what to expect? :D We would GREATLY appreciate it! THANKS!!!
    :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
    did you get this information from DOS?
  2. Hey, THANKS!! :D We were in AP for a month & a 1/2. Now we're under final review which is apparently the very last stage right before the print the visa. :D Do you know how long it takes under that last part of the consular's review or as they told us the "final review"? I'm dying to know how much longer it takes. :whistle:
    Thats Great!!!!! How long where you guys in AP?
    usually a week to get the passport I think
  3. Anyone out there who recently received their visa from Cairo & was previously under AP??? Still curious to know how long it takes on average. :( I keep getting different answers. Thanks for all your responses! :D You all have been very kind, encouraging, & helpful! ;) GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!! :D
    :thumbs::star::thumbs: THANK YOU! GOD BLESS! :thumbs::star::thumbs:
    Congratulations :thumbs: WISHING THE TWO OF YOU A FAST VISA IN HAND.
    ALSO WOULD HELP OTHERS IF YOU :time:
  4. Thanks for the helpful information, KDOR! :thumbs: However, I'm aware of the time it takes for Administrative Processing on average. My question was, HOW LONG AFTER OUR AP IS COMPLETE should we expect to receive the visa??? :D Thank God the Embassy told us that we are now officially OUT of AP!!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: :dance: I just wanna know how long it takes to send the visa afterwards because all they wrote at the end of their message in reference to his visa was that they will send my fiance's passport (with the visa) & the "mysterious brown envelope" AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We're just wondering what that means exactly.... does that mean we have to wait a matter of days or weeks? Hope you guys can help! Thanks!! God bless you all!!! :D
    Administrative Process Takes 3 to 6months Below is an extract from the US government website
    "Visa Wait Times
    Advance travel planning and early visa application are important, since visa applications are subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past. If you plan to apply for a nonimmigrant visa to come to the United States, we know you’d like to estimate how long you will have to wait to get an interview appointment to apply for a visa. See our “Visa Wait Times for Interview Appointment” information below.
    It is important to thoroughly review all information on the specific Embassy's Consular Section website for local procedures and instructions, such as how to make an interview appointment. Consular Websites will also explain any additional procedures for students, exchange visitors and those persons who need an earlier visa interview appointment.
    You'll also want to know how long it will take for your nonimmigrant visa to be processed at the Consular Section, after a decision is made by a Consular Officer to issue the visa, and the visa is available for pick-up by you or the courier at the embassy. See the “Wait Times for a Nonimmigrant Visa to be Processed” information, which does not include time required for administrative processing. Some visa applications require additional administrative processing, which requires some additional time. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application. Applicants are advised when they apply. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Therefore, before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later."
    THE ABOVE COULD BE JUST MY ASSUMPTION BUT YOU SHOULD CONFIRM AND NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR A FACTUAL STATEMENTS. CONFIRM WITH THE EMBASSY WHERE THE INTERVIEW IS BEEN CONDUCTED, AS FOR MY SPOUSE COUNTRY (NIGERIA ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING TAKES 6 MONTHS)
  5. Just print them from on-line. We also received an incomplete package. Once I contacted the embassy, they said it was fine to just print them on-line. They actually send OLD forms to everyone from the embassy in Cairo, so it's always best to print the forms on-line. ;) Don't stress! :) If you're really worried about it, just e-mail the embassy. They're very good about responding to e-mails & for things like this... they are SUPER helpful. It's too bad they're not as helpful later on when you're checking on your case status though. LoL :P
  6. Don't worry.... when we filed we got an RFE with the same message as you & we were confused about what it meant as well. A "REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE" does not mean that they need more proof of your relationship. It just means that either you forgot to sign something, you left something blank, or you were missing a document. In our case, they were asking for a form that we forgot to include. It was no big deal though. :D We completed the form the same day & mailed it off the next morning since we received it late in the afternoon. I remember that there was a time frame given for responding to an RFE. I don't remember what it was exactly. I think it was something like 30 days. I'm not sure though. Check out the guides & search for info. on RFE's. Just a little FYI, we received our NOA2 3 weeks after we sent in the documents. They will update your status on-line when they receive your documents & then the last notice will be approval notice sent, which is you NOA2! ;) Good luck! :thumbs:
  7. Hey, don't worry. Just send in whatever documents they're requesting ASAP & you'll be just fine! Your should receive your approval soon after that as long as you submit everything they ask for & make sure EVERYTHING is correct! Good luck! :thumbs::star::thumbs::star::thumbs:
    Hi everybody!!!
    Today i checked my case status online, like i do everyday since Feb, and I saw there was a change in the status... But when I opened the file it didnt look like a nice thing:
    Here is what they say:
    On July 9, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.
    Is that normal?? I haven't read anywhere on the forum about RFE from the service center, I thought u could get approved or denied.... What is it???
    Please someone HELP ME!!!!!
  8. Thank you sooooooo much! I hope to God you're right about the 1-2 week wait. :star: As far as them telling us we weren't on AP OVER & OVER (LoL :P) & then it resulted in us REALLY being on AP.... well, it's okay. Honestly, we're just glad it's almost over! As for us being reunited... :luv: Thank God we've been together here in Egypt since our interview. I'm truly blessed! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
    I dont' know how long it takes, but I can't imagine more then a week or two. Just guessing though. Anyhow, congrats on AP being over (even though they said you weren't on it to begin with :P ). Have a wonderful reunion!
    :thumbs: Thank 'ya! :dance: THANK 'YA! :thumbs:
    congrats!!!!! excellent news!
  9. Seriously, 2 WEEKS?!?!?!?!? :star: God, I hope you're right!!! :thumbs: As for our AP, well it took about a month and a half. We had our interview on May 19th. I'll make sure to keep you in my prayers! Don't lose hope... have faith in God above & you will see that HE will get you through this! May you get through your AP quickly! :thumbs: By the way, how long have you been waiting under AP?
    After hearing from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS that WE WERE NOT UNDER AP, we received the following e-mail from them yesterday:
    Dear Madam,
    Thank you for your e-mail message. Please note that your fiancé’s administrative processing has been completed. Since he had left his passport at our office, you don’t need to worry about it. We will issue his visa and send him the passport along with the immigration packet via DHL courier service as soon as possible.
    Regards,
    Consular Staff
