Lawyers are not the victims here!

Its hardworking folks that put their money and trust in the hands of people that tell us that they are competent and end up in some instances costing people everything.

One man from Sudan payed a lawyer $3000 dollars to file assylum to bring his family here and to have residence here for him as well. Some months down the line he get a letter from some government department telling him his lawyer had been disbarred and that he should find someone else. When he eventually found the money to pay someone else he found out that his case had been denied because he had missed so many court dates . Needless to say he was deported back to Africa. BUT lawyer just opened offices elsewhere.

If you needed a lawyer? WOuldnt you appreciate it if somehad forewarned you about this lawyer.

A friend of mine was trying to bring her son from Nigeria. I kept asking her how its going and she would refer to something the laywer had told her. the answer would always be something like my lawyer sent them an email. my laywer said the case was touched. my lawyer said she is waiting for the response. I told her to bring her paperwork and we made phone calls spoke to people made an infopass appointment. They told us contact NVC we did that in lass than 3 months her children were here. The day that I went to see her kids I tolld her to call her lawyer to ask for a case status on her kids... Guess what the lawyer said...................................................

"I SENT THEM AN EMAIL ASKING WHY ITS TAKING SO LONG AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAVE A BACKLOG,"

we asked for a copy of the email or the response and she told my firend she couldnt give it to her because she was behind on her payments.

WE NEED TO HAVE A NAME AND SHAME THREAD FOR BOGUS LAWYERS AND IT MUST BE PINNED BY THE ADMINISTRATORS.

IN THIS THREAD PEOPLE SHOULD PUT THE NAME OF THE LAWYER AND WHICH CITY THEY ARE IN SO THAT IF FELLOW VJers DECIDE TO GET A LAWYER THEY CAN AVOID THESE CRUEL GREEDY FOLKS OR AT LEAST IF THEY HAVE THEM ALREADY MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW UO ON THEIR OWN PAPERWORK.

Now I get here and read posts from people who waited 1 whole year only to get an RFE and my mind starts running.

man I feel like forwarding the table to VSC. Maybe it will motivate them to try to measure up to the bar set by VSC
