He's a citizen now! We just left the Oath ceremony here in Indianapolis. It only lasted about 20 minutes and was held inside the USCIS building. The longest part of it was check in.

For the oath, do you need to memorize anything? Like the star spangled banner? I haven't had enough time to do research on the oath 🙂

Nope! You're repeating everything and there's a projector with the words too. 

Got the letter today! Oath is scheduled for August 29th in Indy. So close to being completely done!

Status updated to Oath Ceremony scheduled! I'll update the timeline when I get the letter. 

Yep, totally normal. Only a few of us have had interviews scheduled and I *think* my husband is the only one from this month to have already completed his interview. You're still well within the realm of normal! 

I think it's just a backlog. I got a text too, which I'm assuming was from when he was put in line for oath ceremony. Status hasn't changed on the online account. 

I just checked the case status and it shows in line for Oath now.

I'm not sure about ceremony requests, but I remember that one of the other 2009 K-1 filers(we all became close and still keep in touch) tried for the September 11th ceremony, but I don't think they were able to get that done.

Was he given a recommendation for naturalization on the spot? According to USCIS it could take 120 days from the date of the initial naturalization interview to issue a decision. It's hardly ever that long of a wait. Sounds like the interview went very well.

Yep! 

And done! He said that his IO just went over his forms, did the tests and that was it. Easy peasy!

Oath ceremonies are 45-60 days out right now so hopefully we hear something soon. We have a cruise to the Bahamas planned for November so fingers crossed we can get his new passport back quickly after oath!

Today is the day! Interview in 45 minutes.
