  1. Hola Todos!

    Saludos,

    Maricruz

  2. Ok. First, I would like to say that I work at walmart and the associates in photo are required to look at every picture for copyrighted work and nudity. We have to report any nudity we see to our supervisors.

Second, I took pics of my baby when I was changing her diaper And she crawled away half naked to climb the couch. Jejeje. It was hilarious and a "kodak" moment.

    Sinceramente,

  7. Hello Everyone!

Well, I finally have a chance to post my Oath taking experience. My oath was on Monday at 10 am, although they started late. We left around 8 am and arrived around 9:20 in Fresno. Then I went to get in line. My family had to go to the visitor's section and I had to stand in line. There were people selling certificate covers, and man they were persistent in trying to sell them. There was also the Democratic Party passing out flyers and telling us to register to vote once we were naturalized. Then, around 10:30 the lines began to move. Yay, finally! Before entering we were asked to show them our Oath letter and then told to go to a line. I went to line 5 and it was empty. Lines 3 and 7 were long. I gave the IO my green card and my oath letter. He looked at it, signed it, and then I was off to take my seat.

I sat down towards the back. On our chairs we found a brown envelope and a US flag. I grabbed them, sat down and waited. Our family was allowed five minutes to come into our area to take pictures. Afterwards around 11 the ceremony began. The speaker was saying how there were 323 people taking the oath that day and that she was going to say which countries we represented. I am originally from Mexico, and I was among the 140 Mexicans taking the oath. We were the largest group. After us was India with 60. The Judge came in afterwards and she introduced herself. Then we did the pledge of allegiance and a man sang the star-spangled banner. After that the judge asked for a motion and someone came up to make a motion. Then the judge told us to stand for the oath and to repeat after her. We all held up our right hand and said the oath. Then we all waved our flags and sat down again. The judge gave a speech and when she was done, we were let go one by one. We went back to our lines to pick up our certificates.

The Social Security Administration was there to update our information (we could also do it in our hometown). There were booths outside to sign us up to vote and to take pictures. The overall experience was exciting and memorable.

  8. I filed under being a LPR for 5 years in California through the phoenix lockbox. I filed towards the end of April and my interview was on the 16th of July. At the interview the IO asked me if I wanted my oath ceremony in a month or a year. He then scheduled me for August 10, tomorrow, because I wanted the earliest date possible. I went through the Fresno office, just to let you know. I thought it was gonna take about 6 months or more to get my citizenship, but it took about 3.5 months instead. Very fast. :star:

  9. im having a similar problem with my two last names. What happened eventually is that my last names had to be joined by a hyphen to keep them together. Some people wanted to make my first last name a middle name and it just became weird because of having two last names. Hopefully when I do marry my fiance, I will just keep one last name....his. LOL.

  10. Hello everyone! My fiancé came to the US in August 2006 with a J1 visa and it had the 2 year home residency requirement. He finished his program in July 2008 and returned home. We met September of 2007. I was still a Permanent Resident and did not want him to overstay his visa. I will become a citizen August 10 and we would like to start filing his I-129f. I have researched and heard that it would take about 6-12 months for the process(time includes time it takes Guatemalan government to issue NOS). If that is the case, I think it would be best to wait to file until january or february of next year. Have any of you guys ever gotten a NOS for the 2 year HRR?

Extra information: his stay in the US was sponsored by the US government. Is it true it is difficult to get a waiver approved if it involved US government money? His 2 year HRR would end July 14, 2010.

Gracias.

  13. I was worried getting my baby's passport was gonna take months and a friend of mine told me it would take about a week(he had just applied for his). Well, I sent off her application without the expedited service and got in in 1.5 weeks. It took a bit longer because I sent it before thanksgiving weekend. I received it first week of December of 2008. I did this in California, it might be different elsewhere. I'm not gonna expedite mine when I become a citizen in August because I still got my daughters in a good time frame.
