7 days before my flight and 2.5 weeks before our wedding. I'm nearly halfway with my packing but I have a long way to go with saying goodbye. Bittersweet.
-
Taking my CGFNS (nursing) exam tomorrow, then I have 2 weeks left before I fly to the US to enter a new phase of my life!
-
Wedding date is December 5, Sunday. OMG!!! We're getting married in 4 weeks!
-
22 days before my flight! Bittersweet emotions here and there. I'm happy to finally be with my Baby, but it's indeed painful to think of leaving loved ones behind, too. Oh well. Such is life. All the best to come!

Thankful for today's highlights: 9 am: got my visa from Air21 in Quezon City, on the 5th working day after my interview. 12 noon: Got out of PRISM with my certificate. 2 pm: Got my CFO sticker and certificate. 4 pm: Got my ticket to Chicago! Lots done in one day! Whew!

Wow, got a flight from Manila to Chicago on Nov. 23 via Korean Air for only $685 including taxes! Unbelievable! Good thing they give discounts to first-time immigrants :-)

Oh, turned out that the original quotation for my flight was wrong, because the agent thought that a K1 visa is an immigrant visa, which it isn't. The discount is for first time immigrants. But anyway, got a nicer flight schedule with Asiana airlines for $850 including the taxes :-) Not bad, considering that I only have 1 stopover with waiting time of 1 hour, plus better departure and arrival times :-) Woohoo!

K1 visa APPROVED today! Flying on Nov. 23. Just need to finish work here. Thanks be to God! :-)

Thank you for the greetings! As for the visa delivery, I saw online that my passport has left the embassy today, and I've just talked to Air21 customer service a few minutes ago to confirm it. She said that my visa will arrive tomorrow (5 working days since my interview) so I should wait at home for that (sadly, my authorized representative, our maid, does not have any ID, so I'm forced to be absent from work, but oh well, this document is worth being absent for!!!). I...

After more than 2 months of wait, I'm finally done with my medicals today! Interview is on October 14! Yey! Glory and thanks to God! :-)

9-week SLMEC medical exam ends today! Woohoo! Excited to call for the result on Oct. 8, but I'm sure it's good news! Ready to get my interview date!

Yes, good news indeed :-) I called again today and they asked me to go back tomorrow and bring my passport, receipt, and appointment letter. They didn't tell me the result of my culture, but obviously, it's negative and they're about to give me my vaccines and forward my passport to the embassy for my interview :-) But I said I'll go there on Thursday instead, when I'm free. Yey! Thanks be to God!

Sputum culture @ SLMEC: 7 weeks down, 1 to go! Time flew fast!

Sputum culture @ SLMEC: 5 weeks down, 3 weeks to go! It IS going to be negative! Woohoo!

No interview date yet. They will tell me when I call for my result on Oct. 8. Someone who just passed the sputum test today was given an interview date of Oct. 28. That's too far away! I guess mine would be in November, that's fine, but that doesn't stop me from trying to get an earlier interview date via the call center.

Passed the NCLEX! I'm now a Registered Nurse in the US! Glory to God! :-) Next test to pass: THAT sputum culture! Going on 3 weeks! Whew!
-
3-day sputum smear was negative. 8-week culture countdown, BEGIN! :-) Praying it'd be negative so I could be interviewed in Oct.

Hello Maam, i was negative on my smear too but its really still scarry coz jenny32 was talked about a gurl she met in SLEC that gurl was negative on smear but positive on culture! The St. Luke called her to come on SLEC coz they already finished evaluate her culture and she was shocked of the result. huhuhu!!! SCARY SCARY!!!
-
Congrats for passing the first step! Yes, some become positive on the culture after a negative smear. According to research, close to 27% are positive on culture, which is the definitive and confirmatory test for TB. But don't worry about this too much, the 73% chance of being negative is a much better number to think of :-) Mostly, it's just a matter of waiting. I'm going on 5 weeks, time flies fast.
-
Finished my NCLEX last Friday, and going back to St. Luke's for my 3-day sputum test on Aug. 9-11. Two down. Two months of waiting to go :-)
-
Hi! No, we don't have an interview date yet. I think shedn made a little mistake there, but it's ok. Good luck and may God bless you more! :-)

Going for my medical exam this week. I need my passport for a professional exam this August, so I hope SLMC won't keep my passport. Is it possible for me to keep my passport upon proper explanation of the reason to SLMC? I live far from Manila. Been trying to call SLMC for a week now to no avail :-( Any ideas?

Got MNL case number from NVC via a phone call today. Will not wait for NVC letter or USEM letter, I'll have my medical exam asap using my MNL case number and NOA2 scanned copy :-) Need to start early! I'm expecting a 2-month sputum culture, that's why. Based on VJ posts, this technique has been done successfully. Hope I will, too!
-
Haha! Thank you! I'm now going to research on the next steps now that we have our NOA2. I'll start with your blog :-)
-
Thank you, Lord, for the NOA2 today. Finally got it! :-)

No email, SMS, or online updates. Even up to now, my USCIS online account says "Initial Review". The same thing happened to my K1 timeline twins (Larysa-Simon and Tammy-Sheldon). The NOA2 just popped out of the mailbox :-) Yours must be on its way. Many of us get it 72-84 days post-NOA1. Ours was 76. Good luck!
-
81 days since NOA1 date and still no touches. April applicants who got their delayed NOA2 waited for 72-84 days and also didn't get any case updates online. This could mean that my NOA2 is on its way to my fiance's mailbox! Woohoo! If not... oh well... life is too beautiful to remain complaining and cranky :-)
